There's a reason you have repeat customers: your quality of work. Not only are you flexible and easy to work with, no one can match you. I know you measure and grade but you have such a fine eye for the land. It's so much fun watching a pasture, road, clearing, building pad, pond, or whatever emerge from useless land under your hand. Thanks for sharing with us, Chris.
Was plowing a foot or so of snow this afternoon…I was channeling my inner Chris to be as quick and efficient as possible…It’s amazing what one can learn from a true professional.
I’ve proudly been on this ship since around the get go and you already know that I don’t care where, what it is , or if it’s boring to some. no matter what you how much I enjoy it!! Im in and thank you so much for sharing your life with all of us !! Take care Chris
Price you pay for being efficient on the job, not mention being one of the best slickin-em up contractors on YT, you get more of the “you might as well as” seeing how your here. I still like watching and listening to the six kitty. Thanks for the update, enjoyed watching.
'More' seems to be a 'normal' nowadays - so long as the costs are met that is a bonus. D6 does a great clearing job especially finding those little hidden gems left from logging. Good to hear there iare more projects on the way LetsDig18.
Once a client has Chris do a couple projects for them they just don't want to let him get away because his work is so professional. It's amazing how much work Chris has coming up. That big pond project is the one I'll be waiting for.
I love watching your videos and dirt perfect y’all are smooth operators and love that gooseneck log trailer how long is that trailer that was a smart idea I love watching land clearing videos
There`s a reason your plate is full, the quality of work is amazing, that place looked like a war zone when you started. Pushing and grading with the dozer and you can now see all the land you recouped for the customer, thanks for taking us along.
Sure looks a heck of a lot different than when you first started the big wood chip mess sir? Truly amazing on the quality of work you do sir. Love the channel.
Always get a chill when I see the slash being pushed up by a dozer. So pleased your Cat has a cage! Back in the days before all the health and safety and electronics arrived, a local forest was being felled and cleared. The company dozer was in at the agents being worked on and a hire machine had taken its place. This machine didnt have a bush-cage and while pushing the slash, a length of timber got jammed between two stumps. When the pressure got too much, it rose up over the mould-board then swept across the bonnet like a giant baseball bat, taking out the stack and intake, crossed the cockpit and slammed into the chest of the operator, converting it into a half inch thick smear across the back of his seat...
It's great to have the steady work, and super cost effective and efficient to do all this work on one site. But it must make things a bit tough at times to keep schedules when you think your done and the customer says..."as long as your still here". Great job managing jobs and sites, your customers undoubtedly appreciate you and your efforts.
Always enjoy seeing your work am I mistaken is the 6 starting to push a little smoke she was super clean when he picked her up at auction what 2 years ago and Chris maintains all of his equipment real well and it’s been a good workhorse
I'd be interested to learn how you do your invoicing. Do you charge each piece of equipment out for just the hours it's used? Or is every job done on a price?
Chris with all the tree clearing you do I’m surprised you don’t have a buck that allows you to rip out the roots and be able to grab the trees easier when stacking them.
Next purchase ? CAT 950 Wheel Loader (with log forks and bucket) ? Be a lot quicker than the excavator at handling logs and quicker than the track loader at moving material.
Just be patient all things in the proper time, it needs to be so that he can haul it on his trailer,I have no idea how big a 950 is but I know that his trailer has it’s limits & old enough that it doesn’t need DEF.
For a majority of his work wheel loader be useless. What’s the point of having another big expensive machine to use every once in a while. From watching his videos for a long time for the work he does for the most part a wheel loader would be a bad investment. He rarely uses his trackloader on jobs and that’d be useful on his sites than a wheel loader.
How do you know cause you see a video almost every day? Doesn't mean he works much on weekends or holidays. He says Monday morning a lot so I net he ends Friday works and starts back on Monday on same video.
get the D7 out for the huge pond or long road project - my pops had a heated pair of pants for duckhunting - 12 v cigarette lighter plug - snipped the plug off and extended it directly to the battery , happy camper bouncing around on his D3
Been watching your videos for a long time. Enjoy every one of them! Do you do projects anywhere in NC or do you only work in specific areas? I'm looking to buy 200 acres and build a house, a runway and some pastures.
I know they are pretty pricey, but would one of those grapples with the chainsaw built in help improve your manual workload time? Or, would it not pay for itself in the long run. I remember when you got just the grapple, you said it was ridiculously expensive.
I wonder if you could have a set of long curved forks designed with a gripper head attached to it that you could just grad with the bucket and thumb so that you could pick up a larger pile of logs?
@@dirtfarmer7472 True, but I'm sure a 220 class excavator can pick up more than 3 or 4 logs at a time. Not to mention, you could even design it to be a quick attachment so you could remove the bucket.
@@merlepatterson In the oilfield of Oklahoma a lot of front end loaders have both a set of forks and a bucket, that they carry around with the machine usually when I see them being hauled around on the truck the bucket is setting up on the porch and the forks are mounted on the machine.

When you pick up a five gallon bucket of oil with your excavator jaw tips, is this a 100% visual line of sight kind of thing? Do you look for a slight deformation in the side of the container to "get a visual feel" for how much gripping force you have applied to the plastic containers walls? What if any is there by way of a tactile "feed-back" sensation in the hand control mechanism? What about audible feed-back, what kind of sounds do you listen for? Since the bucket of oil is so light and your machine is so powerful, how do the hydraulic systems respond to very "light" touches of your input at the control valves? Does the presence of other external ambient noise sometimes make it difficult for you to "hear" what your machine is doing? What about other sensory input data, do you feel vibrations through the seat of your pants for instance? Since your engine is governor controlled, RPM management is a function of many different physical mechanical things like various loads being applied by different hydraulic systems simultaneously. How much does the "drive-train" performance of your machine (track hoe or dozer) affect your ability to change and manipulate the digging/earth-moving controls of your machines? Do you progressively lose your fine control the more you divert hydraulic oil to power the drive-train (tracks and steerage)?
It’s an addiction. You arrive and knock this out efficiently so we need to come up with more things to do 😂
