Hey Orla, I remember this video coming on my algorithm around the time you had uploaded it. It would show up every year, and here we are again. I still love it so much.
@@videolad3057 depression is not an easy thing to wrap your head around, nor is it the same for everyone. One thing goes for all depressions tho, they're in your head no matter how real they are. As are the feelings music gives you. If you don't believe music can cure depression, it won't. Start believing. You probably won't listen to one song and be changed for life, but somtimes all it takes is a couple of days to start seeing your life from a brighter perspective. Even if it sounds like a cliché.
@@videolad3057 I sure hope not.. "I made progress last week" "Na, if so you weren't depressed" Spend five seconds on google and you'll find dozens of studies that say music does wonders for all kinds of mental issues.
@@videolad3057 Sounds like you shouldn't be if you're that close-minded about the way mental health works? I see your original point that yes, depression is a long term illness and it can't be 'cured' by one song, but something like that can lift someone out of a dark spot even for a brief time. That's important too. Not everything is so black and white, people work in different ways y'know? (:
With Orla, you can tell how much she loves making music just from her facial expressions. It's honestly the best thing ever and makes me love her even more 💕
i love the expressiveness u display in every cover and the lil quirks in ur voice and ur guitar skills nvr cease to amaze me !!! thanks orla !! I hope u have a lovely week! ❤❤❤
Orla, I just wanted you to know that you helped me through hard times, you are saving me every time, thank you so much for everything please never stop making music, because you play guitar with your heart rather than your hands, and you write your lyrics out of your soul, your songs feels like home, you make me feel safe. ORLA GARTLAND, I LOVE YOU.
Fantastic arrangement! I like that you subtlety threw in a few extra layers (harmonies during chorus), while still making it feel like a live acoustic version.

@@ufoman4468 Wait...you mean if there's a song, noone else should sing it and any other performance ruins it? You have some very strange thoughts about music, my friend. Even if you're a Fleetwood Mac fan and you prefer the original this comment would be just disgusting. Yes, I do like the original. And yes, I would still prefer to hear this song from this beautiful lady that puts some emotion in it instead of copying and trying to sound like someone else. It's no problem to sound like Fleetwood Mac if you ARE Fleetwood Mac. And it would be very boring if you would sound exactly like Fleetwood Mac but beeing someone else. Don't be so serious, there are million ways to enjoy those songs and none of them is 'ruining' anything.

I mean, who'd a thunk it? You rock, Orla, and you're one-hundred-percent better than an overpaid therapist. Maybe you should start charging by the hour...
Enthusiasm can often be a substitute for talent, but enthusiasm on top of talent is always a winning formula - this was an incredible cover. Having fun while you perform is the whole reason why people perform in the first place, no? 👍
Fionnuala O'Hare I found someone (u) with the same first name as me!! Spelt the same way!! Just had to comment And also, totally agree, that would've been so cool

well this pretty obviously isnt recorded live so....
I am a lifelong Fleetwood Mac fan who has had difficulty listening to them anymore given what the band did to Lindsey Buckingham. This cover is so wonderful! Your voice and guitar work is amazing, but what really comes through is your spirit and I couldn't stop smiling because of the joy you seem to feel as you play. Thank you for breathing new life into a great song!
This is so pure and clear. SUCH A good cover. SO different from the original in how it makes me feel. :) Feels like a lot of joy. But easy breezy joy without being too casual?
Awesome! I thought this intro had a bit of I Want To Break Free about it but your FM cover is spot on. Classic Orla expressions and bolder & bolder Oh Ahhh’s! 👍🏼
I don't comment much, but this deserves it. I love finding acoustic covers that are good, and this is one of my favorites. What a talented young lady. Love this.
I can almost see a shetland pony moonwalking on the meadow above the creek ...
i came here to say this but knew in my heart that it had already been said

The best part is that you really seemed to enjoy playing this song. So wholesome.
I love that too
The main reason I’ve watched this video over and over.

Duh whats the point of playing music if you dont enjoy it
My favorite cover of this song. RIP Christine McVie.
Besides being very talented, Orla is just fun to watch and makes my heart light up watching and listening to her.
Yup shes got a magical persona for sure, her acoustic stuff is beautiful.
Like a female Glen Gansard 🤘🎸
2.5 years later, still one of my favorite covers
Amen🎶☀️🙏🤩🎶❤️🎶👌🎉

Stop and stare but then I'd be a creep
I come back to this video occasionally because it's filled with brightness and life and passion. Thanks for making and sharing this :)

Hahaha yup
and on behalf of a grateful YT viewing public a resounding thank you!!
Amen.

Best comment ever
Something about this arrangement says this would make a great paramore song.
Pretty sure they’ve done a cover of this song!
Kirk Dyreson Paramore played this every night on their last tour. Closer to the original arrangement than this though.
Hayley kills it.
Orla covering Hard Times would be so On Brand™

Orla’s production value is always through the damn roof. Great song, great visuals, great everything. 🙌
this actually made me not depressed, and this isnt some "i'm trying to be relatable" comment, you actually helped me thank you.
