In its element on that conveyor belt of smooth uninterrupted air from the Sea...It's all about what's in front of your Slope, rather than the slope itself...Enjoyed it, specially the tail Cam.
Well Andrew it is just you and the sea and wind at 40W again. I get great joy from hear you giggle with glee at how the plane performs in light wind. All I can say is you have my envy, great flying, great scenery, very capable plane, great music. Thank you for posting this.
Ah the joys of flying low and slow is completely lost to the missile flyers.. Nicely done Andrew. Just a really relaxing pleasure to watch, sheer elegance !.
Looks pretty good especially on a small slope with little wind. Keep em' coming Andrew, like watching when I get home from hell, I mean work. Gets me up and into my shop after dinner.
Lovely!!!! A beautiful playground. The model does not want to stop flying. Thank you for sharing this Andrew. You sounded like you were having a ball!!:):)
Super floaty, although it seems rather benign. I gotta say that bird will probably fly on a mouse fart just as well as the Ahi. The Ahi is fully maneuverable in 4 Axis' though. Just saying. It's worth a go. Thanks again Andrew. Great video!
lovely video and a nice plane, but even more impressive is the beautiful location and that gorgeous sand dune and beach. Where about is this roughly, certainly nothing like the UK.
Eu tenho assistido cada vídeo da série é acaba ficando cada vez fluindo com a elegância de um albatroz. e´Fantástico show de pilotagem bem natural como um ave deslizando sobre o vento = (I have watched every video of the series is ends up getting more and more flowing with the elegance of an albatross. e'Fantastic show of piloting as natural as a bird gliding on the wind ) .stay in peace
What a stable gracefull aircraft. It is so solid in flight even on the maiden after you removed the wheels. Looks hard to pull in for landing just wants to keep going. Maybe try reversing the prop and use it as reverse thrust. How much sand did you scoop on the loop...Close! Thanks Andrew.
Shes a beauty on the slope for sure Andrew, as expected really.....a FC and iNAV is the next logical step. You might want to consider the altitude you set for RTH though if you are tripping up that (curvy) Coastline. Get a decent directional 5.8G Video antenna for your receiver....I just use a (pair) linear Panel, they work. Consider putting the FPV Camera on the Tail for best visual cues as someone else mentioned...land LOS.
Sure is a graceful bird, I was looking forward to this vid. I think you could hand catch this one when your on the slopes Andrew, it flew very slow & stable. Do you think it sloped as good as the Phoenix 2000 V2?
Keep up the good work - your videos are really useful. I dont suppose you could tell me where that beach slope soaring site is? Dont worry about me disturbing your peace - I'm in the UK and not likely to go there soon!
would be nice to see it do slope fpv. it looks like you have a considerable distance you could fly in each direction and the view from the tail seems like a doable fpv vantage point ???
I just purchased one of these 2400 I also recently bought a 1600 I am not use to the number system on the wires and having trouble finding information on this. Could someone list the channel map? These are 5 channel planes
Depends on your radio and receiver. I would ignore the numbers on the servo cable ends and work out for your self which is which. Best to get a cheep servo tester, invaluable little tool.
Dang Andrew, you didn't waste any time with another great video. I never get tired of this! Maybe I missed it, but could you give some insight regarding what size battery you went with when sloping this? Looked like it was quite minimal. Thanks
I should have shown the battery, it would have been amusing. Single 4S 3000 for power, then to bring CG to 85mm I added a 1300 3S, a Swiss army knife and a big metal sinker.
Really enjoy it when you mount the camera on the tail. Makes you feel like your flying right along with the plane. Thanks
your chuckles say it all, think you have a new favourite plane
Julian, don't you have one of these? I thought you did?
@@RobisonRacing68 no, I have the 1600 Ranger
Well I dont actually need another big FPV cruiser, but that wing looks like it would fit nicely on my 3m thermal glider body. Watch this space

With something this big the camera can go anywhere.
Taken delivery of the 1600. Like the look of this one. Inspiring video. Perfect.
Both very capable planes
@@AndrewNewton Thanks for the reply. Built and ready to fly. Disappointed the supplied prop turns the same direction as the prop nut.

Just love flying here
That floats about with all the elegance of an albatross. Fantastic in such a gentle breeze.
Thanks
Yes a real surprise how graceful it is
Ah the joys of flying low and slow is completely lost to the missile flyers.. Nicely done Andrew. Just a really relaxing pleasure to watch, sheer elegance !.
The joy of gliding along the coast with a big plane
....That loop at the end... Balls of steel
Madness maybe.
Enjoyed the on board footage and music. Can't beat the NZ skies and beaches.
Pretty sure this is in Victoria, Australia.
lol! doh :)
Thanks Ken, Yellow Card shown to CirrusRC
You certainly can't beat the NZ sky, beaches and the Port Hills in Christchurch.
But Australia isn't bad either.
8-D
5:08 duro aterrizaje !! Se ve que es resistente !!
Gorgeous view from the tail camera
Yes I like that one too
Great flying Andrew! I’m a fan of this one! It’s a beauty in the air for sure. :)

Lovely flight Andrew.

Yes it was a real delight, but hard to land
Newt, that right there fed the soul! More please
Breath taking.
What a sweet plane.

Thanks for this video sir, it's a masterpiece of a flight and imagery. Can't wait to get one of those, my old Ranger EX is no longer a flying guy.
Hard life eh? The Ranger 2400 is a big beautiful bird
Great video Andrew
lovely video and a nice plane, but even more impressive is the beautiful location and that gorgeous sand dune and beach. Where about is this roughly, certainly nothing like the UK.
Thanks, South Australia
Absolutely Beautiful!
Another great video Andrew. Keep em' coming :-)
Great flying Andrew!! Have to have this for My next plane ...have 2 ranger 2000 now but have to add this one to my collection lol
Haha, its a problem if you are a compulsive collector. 4 rangers for the set
So far I have 8 planes all together and growing lol...building a few fpv ground stations for me and my wife getting her started on the ranger 2000 too
👍 Life is good with a 2400!

A great looking camera platform.
Exactly, all planes are judged by their camera carrying ability
What a floaty plane
The best yet.
Satisfaction!
Hi Andrew,
Another winner. :-)
Such a rock solid soaring machine! Great video m8.
Thanks Dave

Oh yes, that was close. I always bring home a scoop of sand

Yes I have used 70m RTH altitude here in the past
Oh yeah!

PJ Lee I have the same question about this plane vs. phoenix 2400mm

Here it is, drop by some time - www.google.com/maps/@-38.2804389,144.4350233,1200m/data=!3m1!1e3?hl=en
So elegant... I'm sold... When I get room. :)
Have to crash a few smaller planes to make room
I need more real life friends to send them to good homes... All my mates I fly with are as big of junkies as I am. ;)
would be nice to see it do slope fpv. it looks like you have a considerable distance you could fly in each direction and the view from the tail seems like a doable fpv vantage point ???
Yes, I have done it before on a Bixler 2. It is the best viewpoint for FPV sloping
would you say that the more wing area the less wind you can get away with, at least when comparing the 1600, 2000, and 2400?
Definitely Nathan. The weight gives it momentum which seems to help in light wind too.
I just purchased one of these 2400 I also recently bought a 1600 I am not use to the number system on the wires and having trouble finding information on this. Could someone list the channel map? These are 5 channel planes

Could you please make a video on sloping technique? You have the touch for sure!
I see now you already made a video on the topic! I'll get to it! Thanks again!
Ah well done, I was about to show you the link
Lovely! Can you explain why you moved CG and how you chose 85mm? Just wondering...
Previous experience with these Rangers and slope soaring told me that 70mm (30%) was too nose heavy. 85mm was a guess and it turned out to be good.
Love it!
But what's better - Ranger 2400 or 2000? Hard to choose.
I prefer the 2000. Just big enough without being hard to transport.
I think I need one of these .....
Oh yes, it would make you happy
✈️👍👍👏👏
you are excellent . I also enjoy very much I wish I were there.
Thanks man.
I wish i had slopes where I live... *sigh*
Wow! Did you remove the battery with the prop?
Give me two reasons why you wouldn't remove the battery for sloping.
@@AndrewNewton You need to controll the dam thing im stupid!!
and you need the weight for correct balance
hooo good video, really :)
Thanks
+1
EPO or EPP ?
EPO wings, Blow moulded fuselage (hard plastic)
We will know if you ever get hacked,no sloping videos 😟
Haha, a sure sign
