This must be totally different than for the M929 dump truck? I could swear on that it's running>1-5>engage PTO lever on dash>Back to neutral>engage hoist and vice versa to disengage?
Wrecker pto is on the transfer case. Not the transmission. Transmission pto has to have 1-5 so the torque converter stops spinning to engage it. Transfer case has to be in neutral for it to work. There is no gear resistance with the disconnect driveline so it slips right in
