With damnation and the void bolt cast reset (conduit I think?) I could see legacy eventually doing ok in single target, not having to worry about DP falling off, but without increasing haste there is going to be a hard cap on max void form duration just because of globals and cast times.
Think you are slightly underestimating surrender to madness it's not just for dumb fun on certain bosses - it will be amazing in m+ where it can be up often on packs and on any boss where you can use it on adds or whatever that you know will die no problem in the 25 seconds. Think of it like having another void form cd - even as just an extra instant 100 insanity and another full void form it's strong.
Dude I can't wait for SL. I play shadowplay (lock/shadow/healer) with my team (I'm the lock), and Im so tired of playing the meta OP class this season. Can't wait for shadow to be overpowered as fk so it's my turn to enjoy the ride and be carried :'D Seriously shadow looks to be amazing in PvP, because most of the spec's damage is now loaded into easily accessible and constant DoTs. The spec still provides insane amounts of utility and cc, while being god tier immortal with the addition of devouring plague and desperate prayer. The main problem with shadow in BFA PvP is that most of the damage is tuned around having a loooooong ramp up with voidform, requiring you to "freecast" for around 30sec before reaching the actual intended damage of the spec. This won't work in PvP. One polymorph, fear, stun, or kick will ruin your voidform and force you to deal less damage than a sub rogue without eviscerate. Currently our priest is just running gushing wound to deal most of her damage.
The dispel type currently is "disease" so paladins, monks, and other priests will be able to remove them. Leaving only shamans and druids out of all healers unable to remove it. However currently there is a lot of counterplay to this. -The dot costs 50/100 insanity, allowing you to bank 2 of them. Put one on, if it gets dispelled you can instantly apply a new one. -There is a 45sec CD that allows you to instantly put on all dots free of cost -voidform and shadowfiend provide *insane* amounts of insanity, allowing you to just overwhelm any dispeller with the amount of plagues you can put on. -bait the dispel with something else like a fear, or "mindgames" (the venthyr priest ability) -just stun->silence the person that can dispel it.
i can‘t tell how jealous i am as a ret pally main.. you SPriest just went a few weeks on alpha/beta with a bad designed specc and get a pretty nice and synergiced rework while ret is garbage mechanical, synergice and intelligent playstyle wise through the whole specc since Legion and no changes in sight..sad :-(
Are we going to have an expansion where both enchantment and shadow play well?
