    I totally love your Videos, they are so helpful and inspiring! Thank you for making them, they really show so much valuable insights. If it weren't for your videos I'd probably not have bought anything Verbos. "How I patch my Verbos System" felt like the ultimate missing piece for me, though my wallet kinda disagrees :)
    I'd be really interested in how you go about giving the dry voice some texture and depth (also stereo-wise). You mentioned your T-Resonator and the Space a couple of times already. At least for the T-Resonator I'd imagine you have some helpful things to show us.
    (Also, what's your take on new amp & tone vs the old one? Do you favour one over the other for certain tasks?)

      @LucasMarchal  3 года назад

      Thank you ! 🌀 At some point I'll do a Part II to my How I Patch... since my setup has changed a lot these last few months. Good idea about the T-Resonator, I've added it to my list. It's true that it's a bit of a head-scratcher for people, not everybody likes it. Personally think it's a perfect dub machine. But yeah, FX are really what I do for stereo image, as most of my sound sources are mono or kept mono purposely. Sometimes I mess with panning directly in the modular but not that often. As for texture... it's a bit of a constant search ahah... distortion, FX chains etc... the Multi Delay is great for texture.
      As for the Amp&Tone I like both equally and use them interchangeably. They don't really sound the same but they both sound really good. I'd say the v1 would be better for bass as the filter doesn't open as much, it's darker/rounder/warmer.

    Still revisiting this video every so often. The first patch with the metallic noise source is such a strong example of what this filter is capable of. Thank you so much for the great content!

    So happy to see someone making good techno demo this module, and pairing it with the DFAM! Really leaning towards grabbing one of these for those highly resonant alien sounds

    Great Video! this is amazing. I am a big believer in "single source tracks". This filter lets you exploit any source and turn it into many elements at once. Awesome examples too!

      I am in the same boat, I like to get as much as I can from a sound source. The bark filter is really perfect for this with its multitude of outputs. I plan to do a video specifically on this topic in the future. It's on my little list at least :)

    When you say Verbos works better with 10v modulation sources does that mean that a lot of modulation sources won't work very well with Verbos modules? If so do you know which ones/manufacturers? Thanks again

    • @LucasMarchal
      @LucasMarchal  3 года назад

      Thank you ! I love his stuff on chain reaction. 5v works with Verbos but if you want to be able to cover the full range 10v is better. Buchla inspired stuff in general is 10v, Frap Tools, Make Noise etc...

    • @hf328
      @hf328 3 года назад +1

      @@LucasMarchal Thanks for the speedy reply! Ah ok so those companies usually stick to the 10v range? Any manufacturers you've had problems using with Verbos modules? If I go Verbos I might have to replace my Quadra as I'm pretty sure that's only 5v, modular is full of little inconsistencies like that hehe

    • @LucasMarchal
      @LucasMarchal  3 года назад

      @@hf328 I mean it won't cause any problems even if it's 5v. Quadra is 8v like most envelopes around, so perfectly fine with Verbos.

    Sounds cool! What's producing your 6 detuned square waves? I thought I heard the phrase "randoms sampling" but I don't know what that means.

    • @LucasMarchal
      @LucasMarchal  Год назад

      yes that's another verbos module called the Random Sampling. It has three noise outputs, pink, white and metallic which is those 6 detuned square waves, similar to a 808 hat/ride

    Hey, can I achieve a similar result with the optomix or amp and tone instead of the lxd?

    • @LucasMarchal
      @LucasMarchal  3 года назад

      Sure, any LPG will work. They all have a different response though, depending on vactrols, no vactrols etc... I find the LxD to really be a must for percussive sounds but also general purpose (+ it's a great filter with an offset)

    how exactly do the faders affect the frequency scan/spectral tilt section? not sure if I understand that part correctly...

    • @LucasMarchal
      @LucasMarchal  2 года назад

      The faders are independent volume faders for each band. The scanning/spectral tilt section can scan or tilt the bands on top or instead of the faders. They are independent but also work together.

    If you eliminated the Bark filter, would you be able to obtain a similar kind of techno using other modules? :)

    • @LucasMarchal
      @LucasMarchal  2 года назад

      Yes definitely.The bark filter has a strong sonic imprint but nothing stops you from making this type of music with other modules. Verbos has the small Noise & Filter module which groups the bands of the Bark by Four and sounds a bit similar while being a lot less expensive.
