Damn guys this guest is great, so smart. I still haven't watched a table talk that I didn't think was awesome and very valuable to my education...they are also entertaining as hell! Def bring this dude back he is awesome. Marine Mike
Great podcast. I've watched alot of them and enjoy them all. Swede, you were very well spoken. Not everyone can do that. Nice to see a guy who can change his life after going to prison. Not too many can make a successful transition. I say that having been myself and now doing okay in life. Appreciate y'all guys keep putting out solid information.
Oddly enough I just listened to his podcast with Duffin earlier today. I've known who Swede is but was unfamiliar with 5th set. Been looking for something to spark a year long lul in my training, so I'll definitely check his book out. Great episode!
Kind of a reversal of what you said about not wrapping enough. I started wrapping for all of my squat sets after some bad knee injuries. Pretty much stayed in wraps for all my squats above like 405 for a few years. Last year i squatted 700 in sleeves and only up to 585 w/o. Now my sleeved squat is somewhere around 80 lbs under my wrapped squat. Starting 5th set with sleeves then plan on repeating it for wraps
What?! How in the fuck was your completely raw squat 115 pound under your sleeved squat?! I can see if your sleeves squat is significantly under your wrapped squat, but sleeves add like 15 pounds max and do not change form at all.
@@powerhouse8310 probably doesnt want to push it too hard without sleeves, so he is shy of his true max without sleeves. More than likely a psychological issue caused by previous injuries.
I find all the podcasts have knowledgeable people. Watch them in chronological order, as the team accumulates more experience with interviewing the guests. That makes each following podcast better than the previous one. Also, not every podcast is about powerlifting per se. Some are about football coaching, others are about bodybuilding. Watch the first five minutes of each to determine the subject. I have watched basically all and have taken some nuggets from each of them.
“Identify and respect other people’s needs”...that’s what Swede said that coaching does for him. Great advice and great insight.
4:48 Never heard Dave laugh so hard lol
Lol
He laughed at his own joke though!

Do yourself a favor and buy the 5th set manuals. Even if you dont use his program there is lots of great concepts you can implement into your training
That was an amazing podcast.
genius, thank you
Man I like swede sounds like a cool dude
Very likeable dude,
Sounds like he is about to have a heart attack
Dave sure changed his tune on online coaching quick...
Is there anyway to have questions or topics time stamped for future listening?
Yea, watch the video, take notes, and post it
I want to see both these guys on Joe rogan (separately).
I’d want to them both separately and together.
Why?
exactly loool joe rogan is a bum
Relax, you'll get your non hetero video
How many Caps do u have dave ?
I’m just waiting for Swede to get back to me about training with him.
The bro has a Meijer cup
Swede maybe the next Louis Simmons.
Not a great inheritance.
That’s a high mark to shoot for, performance-wise. I agree.
I'm fairly new to this podcast. Can anyone recommend me some must-watch episodes with people as knowledgeable as Swede?

Swede is the sh!t. I think Dave may have a man crush...not that there is anything wrong with that.
Beginner / intermediate/ advanced aren’t “demographics.”
