This was my first ever NASCAR race, and Jimmy's first win. I was 27 years old, and Jimmy was in the 27 car. My Last name is McDonald, and that was the sponsor on Jimmy's car. What a magical day!!
awesome
Damn that’s awesome!!
Good for you
That's cool. I was born and raised in Daytona Beach, been to tons of Cup and other races there, seen a few less since I moved out West. You are def right about one thing- the excitement and magic of race day at Daytona is alive when you arrive and never goes away. I don't know from where at the speedway you watched the race, but of all the Cup and Busch Series races I attended there, except one, since the late 60s when I was a preschooler, we parked in the infield, in the turns, up against the fence. That's magical indeed.
@@fishslicing For that race i sat up high about at the entrance to pit lane, so I could see the whole track. I've been to the Rolex 24 twice, but times in the infield, which is really the only place to go. That has its own magical feel!! Nothing like listening to 50-60 cars running around that track at 3am when the rest of the town is asleep!! The sunrise is amazing while they're running as well. I do have to say that the volume is much louder than I expected, and it can rattle your brain of they run for a few hours with no cautions!
RIP Bob and Benny
I could listen to Junior Johnson interviews for hours.
As a Florida native I usually went but this particular year I was on vacation with my family in Upstate New York and had to listen on the radio. So agonizing
@@FloridaManRacer well I was 15 so didn't have a whole lot of control over my situation. Was also the first time I shared driving Duty on a family trip
I was at this race. My parents lived in Florida. They lived about 5 miles from the track. It was my first and only time at Daytona. What a race. We had so much fun. So happy for Jimmy Spencer.
Thanks for uploading this the official channel, NASCAR. I had neglected to mention that outwardly the last two-or-three instances of me appearing in the chat and now I just wanted to pay my just dues as an intensely lifelong fan.
27 years since the #27 car won at Daytona with Jimmy Spencer. Very clever & fitting 😉👌🏻
Mr. Excitement, indeed!
Ah yes, real racing. Not the BS of today
RIP Bob jenkins
What a breathtaking finish!
Thanks for showing! 😊👍🏻
What a great race. Thank you NASCAR!!
Mr. Excitement at it's absolute glory days!
Mr Excitement for the Win 🏆 I still remember this race like it just happened last week
RIP Bob Jenkins :(
My wife and I attended this race. Man if I could keep time in a bottle...
Thank you for leaving the intro in for a change.
Thanks NASCAR for the upload.

It's so cute Benny Parsons and Ned Jarrett talking about how roof flaps have completely solved stock cars rolling over. They don't roll over anymore lol. Their model with streamers didn't mean anything it looked the same the entire time
Its been so long since I watched this at 10 years old, I didn't remember who won, so I enjoyed every bit of this race, The drama of gambling for fuel, the ongoing engine problems with that years Daytona 500 winner, will he make it to the end? Then to top it all off the final battle down to the final lap! I just wanted to enjoy a race while I did work on the house, and boy did I,
5th DNQ of the season for Petty Enterprises. At this point, rumors were circulating on when Wally Dallenbach would be replace in the #43 car
Good Race
Jimmy Spencer won Twice in The McDonald's Car
Excuse me, both direct and redirect. If the chat's no longer open with the streaming live premiere of this ESPN telecast with Summer speedweeks in '94, then I understand. I just wanted to correct my grammar. I've been having technical difficulties with my laptop's web browsers and search engines most of the day.
Is this Daytona USA place still around? It sounds like a blast.
It is, just under a different name.
