That pack is out of a 75kw or 85kw battery. The empty cylinders are just space holders where in a 100kw battery else would be cells. You need something be inside there to keep the cooling ribbons in place
Informative, thanks for sharing! Do you reckon a robotic arm would make life a heck of a lot easier in removing the adhesive (2:42) from the top and bottom of the cells? Not a laser cutter (because the heat might damage the cells), but more like a robotic wire cutter or something?

In 85 pack all cell spaces are filled too. In 100kwh pack, cell arrangement is different and more compact.
