Great video. If i get a replacement board with a greater capacity SSD and dont care about the data on the original board, can I just use the new donor boards SSD as a way of upgrading the storage? Thanks!
You can absolutely upgrade the storage by using a new donor board with a larger capacity SSD, as long as the SSD is compatible with your system. Since you don't care about the data on the original SSD, you can simply swap it out with the new one. Just make sure to properly transfer any necessary firmware or system files from the old SSD to the new one if required, and ensure the new SSD is formatted correctly. If the new donor board is fully functional and compatible with your device, you should be good to go!
@@FORWARDMachineFactory Thank you for this information, it is very helpful! I'm still learning, but I'm guessing this procedure means that you avoid all the issues with non paired parts? I have received the iPhone 15 pro that I bought to learn to fix, and found out someone has already opened it, removed the shield and has damaged the eeprom and the ST33J which I believe is for the sim card. So now im just worried ill have issues with parts pairing with a new board. I have seen you can get the icloud locked boards and replace the baseband, but I dont know how true this is, or if i'd still have the same problems.
is 15 pro and 15 pro max upper board compatible?
The iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max have different designs and specifications, which generally means their upper boards are not compatible with each other. Each model has unique components tailored to its size and functionality, so it's best to use parts specifically designed for each device. If you have a specific repair or modification in mind, it's always a good idea to double-check compatibility with reliable sources or repair guides.
