If you are going to use units of measurement that is great, but please keep it consistent with either metric or imperial units. Using both units to describe different elements of one vehicle is to confuse many. I understand both. Also 2780NM means 2780 Newton Metres (USA Meters) of torque, not 2780 Nano Metres. Look up what the prefix nano means - huge difference with Newton.
Using both systems is helpful for those not familiar with one or the other. If you are used to metric would you be able to follow it and convert to either British or North American Imperial measurements ??!!
When I was in Highschool. There was construction in Battle Creek Park. The dump trucks were moving dirt from one end to the other. They had to go up a steep grade. The Peterbilts were the only trucks that were able to go up the grade while shifting gears. The other trucks had to get whatever speed they could and hold that gear til the top.
Some of the biggest rigs I've ever seen were in Australia. Those road trains are huge,3 sometimes 6 or more trailers and the rigs pulling some of these road trains are massive!! I've never seen Kenworths, Macks or Western Star trucks so huge as the ones down under!! In the US,our tractor trucks are the best in the world and highly customised to the operators desire, but those Aussie rigs are in a class of their own. Designed especially for the brutal conditions and ridiculously long distances, even the engines are super massive!! You will never truly appreciate the size of these beasts until you are up close and personal, and that ain't no lie !! Jefferson Hodges,Az,US.
Yes. You are right. They are massive the road trains in Australia. American trailers are overall quite small in comparison. Check out the B-Double snd B-Triples also. However, extra long sleepers as per USA trucks are not common in Australia. Only Americans call Australia ‘down-under’. Australians have a bit of a chuckle when we hear it.
But the traffic difference between the two countries is why the US could never pull a road train due to all the dumbass drivers Aussies have long straight highways and in the US they followed freaking snakes making highways I respect the Aussies they can definitely drive anything anywhere
I believe that twinsteer to truck is a conversion to twinsteer, I've only seen one truck that was a factory built one, many years ago, with Dowell-Schlumberger, haven't seen another one that wasn't a conversion from single steer axle. KW gets to build the twinsteers in T900.880,,C & K500 and 963, Pete got the originl KW LCF/L700 garbage trucks, called them a 320, and now the 520.
My work truck broke down once, so I had to call the companies dispatch center to get towed. This guy named Victor picked up the truck with a Peterbilt wrecker. He gave me a ride to our vehicle maintenance private contractor along with the broken down truck. I was so Impressed with the effortlessness of the wrecker, and it was a 1986 tow truck.
Very good capture. Great work as always. I Love how the truck bed reflects like a mirror polished to perfection. Thank you for taking the time and sharing with us! Take care and be safe.
For those people who badmouthing Peterbilts, please don't do that because these trucks are very useful and they're beautiful and very tough so please don't badmouth.
That rotator is awesome and may be covered in lighting, but black is not a good colour for recovery operations; no way you should deploy that at night or in bad weather!
"Reaching a height of 4.6 meters" Those Michelins are no where near 15 ft. tall, maybe the tip of the exhaust pipes get close but the truck is no where bear that,
At minute 5:15 the word "nanometers" was mistakenly mentioned, when the correct word should have been "newton-meters". Apologies
Its okay bro :))
Also, while not as big a blunder, at 6:57, the term is “pound-feet” not “pounds-feet”.
Also a WHOLE lot more than 40 tonne of a payload.
Ivgg8t8 💩
Yes, we heard that....
In Europe this is common knowledge in metric system, but you commonly use imperial units.
Very unique Peter built trucks that I haven't ever seen before thanks for your video I appreciated watching it and learning something new
Thank you for your comment. I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the video and learned something new!
5:14 first time hearing such a unit, “NANO METER” i though was Newton Meter

One thing of note, Nm is Newton-Meters. Not nanometers. Big difference.
Nice. ❤❤❤ 🎉🎉🎉
Peterbilt my favorit truck❤
Those are the most powerful beasts and kings of the road!
Plastic under powered junk,, I've been driving trucks for 24yrs

Pretty sure they just used AI to do this by how it said "V8" as "Viv"

I do admit, even though loving big machines and driving semis myself, the narrative and presentation is a bit off putting.
Eu e meus filhos gostamos muito desse vídeo

Most 18 wheelers in the US are Class 8 trucks. The Trucks you are talking about are probably Class9.
Very cool.
Good one...
I iike the truck ,I encourage more powerful trucks.
The peterbilts are my favourites
Thanks for your program
Sweet hook !
WOW that is Impressive
wonderful
Gonna struggle with nanometres of torque😁
If only you could get a diecast model of that 389 twin steer wrecker. Such badass rig.
Damn right! A serious piece of hardware and a great basis for an apocalypse truck. Get rid of the crane and build an RV body on the back!
Or a plastic model to build
That 389 twin steer is awesome looking
NEVER GiVE UP.🎶
Have you done one for Kenworth?

Never paint a tow truck dark, always a very bright color.
nd why is that
@@mr.wabbit5874 Visibility and avoiding accidents. the same reason why tow trucks are full of flashing lights.

Very good operator and a very good video as always but boy does that bucket need some work done to it
There isn't enough money in the world that I would ever buy a Peterbuilt
Very nice…..all ya need now is a 20man detail squad…..it won’t look like that in 6 months, unless you give up sleep….😂😂😂😂
My friends in my opinion Peterbilt trucks are the Rolls-Royce's of semis

" nano " meters of torque?
Not on my dyno.

Why does the garbage truck need a three inch floor plate? That's a lot of steel to lug around.
Ive had two dreams of being a truck driver.
Super Pete, was the first Peterbilt, Monster truck. It was purple much bigger than that truck there,.
Heavy haul red Peterbilt not 389 but 379 model.
Hey I think I found my new Florida limo truck on the beaches I bet it can clean the trash off the shore lines of America

Its Newton meter not Nano meter my brother... 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Tractor Tires on that red Truck gal and it look light.
Why would you paint a tow truck black that would be the most dangerous colour to use
I came for the thumbnail?
I know im late but 2:30 ??? you just had to look 2 minutes in and you would've found it?
By the way who is Peter?
