    Just in case anyone cares. I now have mine. My thoughts? It's skinny. Extremely skinny. It's ridiculously tall. I'm 180 cm's (six feet) and I can only put one foot on the ground. Mine came 'uncorked' from the dealer, so it's making huge power from the get go. It's taken a couple of hundred K's for it to loosen up, and it just keeps getting better and better. The suspension needs different spring rates if you're heavier than 90 kilo's. I'd go with springs about 10 kilo's lighter than what the rates state. I'm 120 kilo's with gear, and I got springs for 120, and they're harsh. I'll be changing to 110 kilo front springs, soon. Handles like a dream. Turns in well. Power slides predictably. Brakes incredibly, but the rear is overpowered. Accelerates super fast. Switchgear is rubbish, but it's acceptable for a bike that's not a road bike. Fuel economy is OK for what I do, but could be more. I'm, overall, really happy with this bike. It's expensive, but you don't work a lifetime to ride a 'price point' bike. I guess the standard 500 is just as awesome.....but why not treat yourself.

      @@fredtello I have range anxiety whenever I ride in the forest. It seems to swing wildly from pretty conservative, to horse thirsty....I've not been caught out, but I keep one eye on the situation, pretty closely. (Love the clear tank, too!)

    So there’s lots of power and it vibrates. Thanks for the insights.

  • @DesertVetRider

    Have you ridden the CRF450R? I am curious on how this vibrates compared to that? I keep hearing these bikes vibrate a lot, but I have never ridden one. I used to race a CRF450R and I ride a KTM 300XC now. I am curious because I am considering purchasing one.

    • @MobMoto
      @MobMoto  Год назад

      Its the longer stroke that makes them vibrate more on the 500. I think the 450R and 450RL are the same stroke , but shorter than the ktm 500.
      Its not unrideable, its just more than the others but it wouldn't stop me from buying one because of that. The ktm 500 has more power to unlock than any of them.
      Im sure you'll be happy with it.

      @MobMoto I really appreciate your feedback. I am so struggling to decide which dual sport to purchase. Honestly, I think the Honda is the better-looking bike with just a few upgrades. I just dig the look of yours. I am just leery about the extra weight. I was quoted 15,643.00 otd yesterday for a 2024 Husqvarna FE501S. That seems insane. I imagine the KTM will be the same. Thought about purchasing a used KTM six days, the same bike you rode, but I figured if I am going to drop 12G for a 2023, I might as well suck it up and get the latest version that is 95% new. So they advertise. Thanks again for your response. If I do end up getting the 2024 overpriced euro bike, I will have to look you up when I head to Vegas in Oct to visit my new to arrive grandson. You could take my new bike for a ride and give your feedback to your followers on RUclips. Cheers!

      @@DesertVetRider its tough to decide, theyre both great dualsport bikes. Id say if you ride more trail and offroad thAn on the road get the ktm, if you ride a lot of street and some trails get the honda. the weight on the honda doesn't do well for singletrack but its better on the road type riding. They both need mods aftermarket

    • @MobMoto
      @MobMoto  Год назад

      its a good bike, but i prefer the 500 and 450 but that just me. I think it depends on the type of riding you want to do. 690 travels better than the 500s but its a bit bigger and heavier for more technical riding.

    My 22 vibrates so much that I cant ride it for more than 20 minutes. That's the only complaint though. Wish there was a way to make it smooth then it would be rideable and I wouldn't consider trading it in. It a super fun bike for the 20 minutes lol
