I'd buy this, as Aizen uses the deduction that Ichigo discards his other powers to enhance his physical strength later down on the line. Like it's skyrim and you can allocate points to different attributes at will lol

Kubo is a king of foreshadowing, this makes the second times that someone specifically targets Ukitake in an action...Way back in Soul Society Aizen speaks directly to Ukitae when leaving, and hear Wonderweiss for some reason notices Ukitake and attacks him 1st, which is weird because if you recall Wonderweiss is a bit dumb, during the second attack on the living world he was just playing with a butterfly until Urahara showed up....this means Wonderweiss only attacks and targets specific people unless he's attacked. This begs the question of why, what about those people interest this braindead arrancar?

I'd say Yamamoto and Ukitake will escape because they should know how his bankai works while Aizen's cautious nature will make he leave just to be sure (even if knows about it) & Gin will follow Azien immediately. And apparently Shinsui's bankai isn't limited to Karamatsuri Shinjuo should be able to enact other Plays (*theatre plays) the same way his shikai can make multiple children's games reality

And bankai shinji too can do so but the others ggs

In anime, fire and ice attacks unless it’s some sort of special legendary move (ie Madara/Rukia) are about as effective as a feather pillow. Any mage In an anime scenario ensures their death by learning fire spells.

Absolute nonsense wonderweiss should not have been able to stab Ukitake like that he is one of the oldest captains and his strength is comparable to shunsui. Ukitake really is just wasted potential, luckily in the new hell arc in the manga it seems we can see more of him. Even with his sickness Yamamoto still considered Ukitake one of the best sickness so there is no way he wouldn’t be able to dodge wonderweiss.
I disagree, while I agree that Ukitake was underused, him losing there wasn’t surprising. Sure he has good combat abilities, but due to his sickness he is physically the weakest captain. While wonderweiss defeated bankai Kensei and was taking multiple hits by Yamamoto also being able to surprise attack him.
Because A) all of his abilities depend on his zanpakutou feeling like using them, which makes them completely unpredictable and unreliable. He might just show up, try to use it only to find he can't and then there's egg on everyone's faces. B) Because his Bankai potentially means outright suicide against an opponent with comparable or superior spiritual pressure, which Aizen very much is, and would consequently just equate to a senior captain committing suicide to no benefit or effect. Furthermore, the damage it inflicts to an enemy is shared, so even if it fails to suicide him, Kyouraku would take himself out either way and be left to Aizen or the surviving Espada to easily finish off without further resistance and again, without accomplishing anything of note. C) Because if they sent just Kyouraku to fight, there's no way in hell Aizen would take that bait rather than just have the Espada overwhelm him while he goes invisible and chills out a few kilometers away. TL:DR; Simply because Kyouraku's bankai is far too unreliable both in utility and ability for it to have any semblance of a probable chance at success under the circumstances.
