I'm a white belt, and until discovering your videos I didn't really have a go-to guard game. The Lasso Guard has completly changed my BJJ for the better. Thanks so much for your videos.
I am a 4 stripe WB who has been training for 1 year. I recently did a seminar with Prof. David Gatke on lasso. I LOVE it!!! At my level, there aren’t many people who know what to do with it. I am still learning all of the ways to utilize it and then I found your channel. I love your tutorials. Thanks so much for all the lasso videos.
I have been non-stop watching your lasso guard videos lately. Started using some of the techniques last night in class and they were so helpful. Thank you!
Been successfully using your lasso pointers in training, this one I'm excited to use. Even by putting myself in the position, letting them think they'll pass. Oss Marcos thank you 🤙🏼
Thanks so much for the videos Marcus!! Awesome stuff. Would love to see a breakdown on how to deal with inverted guard players who like to invert around your legs when you attempt to pass. Thank you brother oss
Professor, while attempting this sweep, my opponent sometimes will post with their forehead on the floor. Is there a way to finish or should I move to something else?
I have a question when his farther comes down and why would you have that arm right in for a choke all you need to do is just go on the backside and you can just pull the choke
What is your answer if the person does the same thing but gets past your bottom leg, NOT trapping it. They step over you bottom leg with both of their legs, landing in a side control but you still have the lasso on the opposite side.
If I'm understanding your question correctly I think that would open up the traditional lasso sweep where you underhook or grab a knee pant grip on the otherside and flair the lasso out.
@@codywhitaker1596 for sure👌 one thing to remember in this position is that we would prefer to have our knee tucked under their waist but the sweep can still work with the leg cleared all the way through, though I find it to be a bit more difficult this way vrs bigger guys or guys with crazy good balance and base. Also, you really need to keep your knee that's in the lasso flaired outside their shoulder, if they stuff that knee down while coming around to side control the sweep becomes nearly impossible.
very good question, Happens a lot if that happen with you, a good options is keeping the lasso hand, with the other hand you push the person's shoulder hip escape and bring your leg back to their HIP, and then get your second sleeve control.. i hope that help little, maybe i can a make a video, explaining better if more people comment more about the same questions BIG OSSS thank you guys.
Osu prof , I face the exact problem . My opponent did a cross face . I tried to use this technique but he was able to block the sweep . What should I do to counter this problem

Great technique... this happens a lot and typically give up on the lasso to defend the pass... so will try this next time

Im been thinking about lasso guard
What do you do when he keeps his hips high and shoulder smashing the lasso while pinning your bottom leg with his left hand?
Big OSS
Very good thank you ☘️🇮🇪☘️👊👍💪😎
Sick oos
Because I play half so much this is probably the most common lasso sweep I get. Probably better to stop them before they smash but 👍👌

hello professor what do you do when you have a lasso hook on one side, but they stapled down your other leg with one knee?
What do you do if they step over the bottom leg but rather than grab you leg they go for a cross face or a tight grip on your lapel?
Thanks
Welcome
