The sculpt work on Nightmare Spawn is solid and he's nicely detailed for sure. However, as you've already alluded to, the figure lacks some much needed extra paint. It seems like almost every single McFarlane Toys release has the same problem over and over again. I don't know why McFarlane Toys keeps skimping out when it comes to adding extra paint to their figures. The details would be so much more noticeable if that was the case. It’s sucks because back in the early 2000s this wouldn’t be a problem. McFarlane was the king of making the most badass figures . Lowkey hope they just make pre posed figures like they used to if it means adding more paint details. Just imagine a Jim lee Batman but posed like the one coming out of the batcave, would be sick
I would so much rather have him make classic cover figures again instead of the fully articulated figures w/ very little paint apps . Its almost as if we are going backwards w/ less paint apps and accessories the more figures we get.
What Todd needs to do honestly is just raise the pricing on the figures so the quality can jump up again. I can't speak for everybody, but personally speaking, I wouldn't mind spending an extra 30 or 40 bucks on Nightmare Spawn if he was super articulated and was one for one exactly what he looks like on the back of the box art.
@@hallowseve5801 if they used the same plastic as b4 sure , mcfarlane could charge around $32.99 and w/ the price he would be making around $24 to 26 def . If he charged $65 to 100 and the materials and plastic stay the same as you priced he would have to switch to pvc plastic and def not skimp on accessories or not use soft goods . The soft goods he is using for the 2 flash Batmans is similar to gym shorts except w/ micro holes and almost pointless to even use . They attempted to do this w/ the Year 02 Batman . I dont think his consumers would be happy paying Mafex prices for figures regardless of added articulation or other stuff . Not w/ entry level priced figures . I would also gladly pay for legitimate things .
guys a definite buy.....at a decent discount.at 25 bucks usd after tax...you can get more bank for ur buck elsewhere while still sticking to toddfathers world.

I was never able to purchase the original Nightmare Spawn from over ten years ago, so when i heard Mcfarlane toys was planning on re-releasing him I became very happy with owning it at last. Then the images of him were revealed and i was very disappointed he didn't look anything like the original version. Ive been a huge Spawn fan since he first came out and been collecting his figures for years now but the recent waves have been less impressive than the old days. The OG Nightmare Spawn released back in 2007 is still the best Spawn figure that McFarlane ever made.

Seeing this makes me wish McFarlane (or NECA) would do a Legacy of Kain, Soul Reaver figures.
Points missed: one hand is significantly beefier than the other, one. Elbow is single Jointed, no mention of rotator cuffs missing in the shoulders.
