That was out to the 1000 yard line against M-14s and M1 Garands!! Until GWAT, we actually still followed the Geneva convention and didn't use hollow point ammo in combat. Then things changed!!!
It was Hague, not Geneva, but... Yeah, even today the .30cal's aren't competitive in the National Match format. They even made a .30cal specific class to keep the M1a's and M1's around
Brought back memories, wow. OK well 55 gr, our unit used that until about 2009. We turned in our A2's in '03 for Car15's with 12 twist barrels and all. After 2009 we upgraded to M4's. (The CAR is where it's at IMHO). And another gem from a certain era, unit commanders would approve optics and uppers. I had a MK12 upper built since it had an NSN and was inspected by the armorer, I qual'd with it and had the commander green light it for the deployment. It was crazy times then!

@@30wrdy I dunno the couple I shot were alright, but BCM does have QC quirks from time to time.
@@DJTheMetalheadMercenarynot hating at all, just what I’ve heard from some guy’s reviews. Bcm is gtg in my book
Well I was already going to get a mk12 but this video makes them aesthetically appealing.
People are forgetting there was usually at least 1 Mk12 in every squad later on in GWOT. Some of the guys interviewed that carried this rifle would say they’d spend a day or two out shooting 100+ insurgents in a single sit. It was just a very target rich environment with foreign fighters coming in bc they wanted to meet their maker
Outlaw is the baddest out lets go bro!.

Special Forces ended the MK 12 in 2010 and took them all out of the group's.

@@LastAmericanOutlawwell if they didn’t take the mk12s away the st guys never would have given big army the data it needed on the scar and 30cal in order to develop that new ar “replacement” that if you really think about how sigs 277 fancy rifle works, handles and shoots- the army essentially is replacing the m4 with what is for all practical purposes is a mark 12 mod H that holds ten less rounds, relies on a soldier’s penchant for hoarding batteries to be able to shoot accurately at long range rather thsoldier’s ability to learn a simplistic bit of reticle math. Well at least the sig spear is lighter than a mod h- nope never mind it isn’t and that’s before we even take onto account how much heavier 20 rounds of 30 cal ammo is versus 30 77 grain 5.56 rounds. And while the spear’s suppressor may not reduce sound signature any more effectively than one of those screw on novelty barrel lengthening threaded empty pipes every Californian has pinned to his sbr and sub gun with bubble gum to make them legal to purchase and possess-
Well at least our future deaf veterans won’t be at any risk of early death caused by killing people who are attempting to kill you with an automatic weapon- the military has by removing the suppressors ability to suppress virtually eliminated gas vapors caused by shooting an automatic rifle to release anywhere near the person who has his head shoulder and both hands pressed against that rifle. Genius! Pure genius! Is it any wonder the average marine who spent his early childhood subsisting solely on lead paint chips would be infinitely more capable of effective small arms weapon procurement than multi million dollar multi staged scientific weapon selection trials could ever be? I mean it’s a bit unfair when corporal downs’ grandfather did give him a gift certificate to cabelas for finally completing sixth grade after four attempts… but hey- it’s the military not the Mensa society amirite?

I'm going to correct you right here about 62 grain and 77 grain otm ammo. The US Army came in to the national matches in 1991 with M-16s and 77 grain otm ammo and SWEPT THE MATCH!!!
They weren't then or are today classified as hollow point. Open tip is a by product of the way it's produced and perfectly legal LOAC speaking.
Love my modern MK-12 LMT build

@@Otterweaponworx FOR YOU, ANYTIME!
I just happened to have 31 of those Leupold scopes you were talking about I used to work for Leupold back in the day
Brought back memories, wow.
Great video chaps. Working on a few be of a kind british clone right now.

More of a push tap kinda guy myself. Only had one or two malfunctions, and that was on the same day. Was training and trying to see how much of a baby tap it would take to not seat the mag.
Most of the time I'd skip the tap if my fingers didn't touch the mag well.

They are not even sniper rifles. They are DMRs.
They were used by both snipers and DM's, and seeing how sniper rifles and designated marksman rifles are defined by who was using them....
Which is superior mk12 or m110?
@@Man_Emperor_of_MankindThat's not true. The role the rifle plays determines that. Snipers also carry M4s with them too. That doesn't classify the M4 as a sniper rifle
@@golik133 100% M110
@Man_Emperor_of_Mankind so you're saying... just because a sniper fielded a dmr, it makes the dmr a sniper rifle? If that were true, when a designated marksman shoots a sniper rifle, would they automatically become a sniper??? I think not.
the hardware isn't what makes it deadly. its the training....

Dont use the Eagle Tac slings. Their metal hooks locking mechanism always bend. It's like they used some cheap material. Go with a Blackhawk CQD sling. Their hooks are thicker and more solid tight.

My favorite elimination in pubg was with this gun 800 meters with an 8x. The fence he was behind wasn't rendered. He went down went behind the fence again got picked up then peeked the same spot same thing happened but he started spectating
We had the leupolds with 1/2 minute and we had one nightforce on the MC mk12s back in 2010/2011/2012. We had the 77gr mk262. It’s crazy how back then it was the crem de la crem. Nowadays you wouldn’t catch anyone worth their salt shooting that stuff anymore except for fun lol.
Is that a fact?
You mean 77gr or the platform in general?
@@grnsouth1204 as far as nowadays you wouldn’t see someone worth their salt shooting half minute adjustments with mil reticles. The ammo is solid and the platform is solid. But there’s still more modernized systems that are far better in my opinion like the 110a1 or the 416 when it’s accurized as a dmr rifle. I own a mk12 now. I love it, but there’s more modern better options in my opinion.
On the none of these are outdated sentiment.. the M1911, from 1911, ONE HUNDRED THIRTEEN YEARS AGO... still works.
So yeah the mk12, the armalite platform, its all going to be serviceable for quite a long time.
Unless/until we somehow have a sudden major leap in technology and we're all bearing star trek phasers and phase rifles. Or some similarly seismic shift in tech
Honest outlaw is like a spicey Bert Kreicher. Also MK12 still gets me all hot and bothered.
Remember getting my Mod 0 back in '08-'10ish, all because of a stupid PC game, America's Army lol. Still has been on of my favorites to own all these years.
DPMS made a Mk-12 clone. It wasn’t perfect clone but it was a great shooter. I have the upper only and it is still a hoot.
Edit: it isn’t worth seeking out. I immediately built uppers that carried the same idea, but very different. 18-20” 1-8 twist and keep it light. My Mk-12 (DPMS) has a quad rail as OEM and it is now a bench rifle for life. Sooo heavy.
Take away, but more 77 grain OTM.
