- Make your own delicious BBQ sauce! This recipe makes a great base BBQ sauce where you can add other ingredients to make it your own.
This recipe makes a THICK sauce - if you want a thinner consistency, use 2 cups ketchup, 3/4 cup Apple Cider Vinegar, and don't simmer as long.

I've been wanting to make my own BBQ sauce and personalize it and now I can because of your video! Thank you !
Lamar Johnson I'm so glad to hear that! Thanks for watching and let me know how your sauce turns out!
Just made this sauce and it’s excellent, I substituted Bourbon for the A1 and I added some smoked Habanero powder; this is my new BBQ sauce, thanks!!!!
I’m down. Looks like a good sauce. I’ll give it a try, thanks for the recipe
Thanks my friend! First time to see how to make BBQ sauce.
I’m enjoying the recipes! I spent 3 hours smoking ribs only to have a random stomach ache. I had to settle for crackers & Gatorade & bed.
Tried it loved it recommend it highly. I makes a fine everyday BBQ sauce and has become the base i use for many other sauces i make, just by adding the flavours of the cuisene i want. Thank you for your many fine videos, take care and God Bless.
Just made this to go with dinner tonight and added a little smoked paprika must say it was delicious thank you for this tutorial you have a new fan
bryan roberts Glad to hear! Thanks for watching!
I'VE made it exactly like you did and the wife and I love it . we only make this now thanks
Nice touch cooking down the spices garlic and onion to intensify flavour first - that's proper cooking!
Very smart sauteeing dry spices first. It really intensifies flavor. Nice vid thx.
Rip store bbq sauce, can't say how much better this one is. Thank you sir!
LOL glad to hear that! Thanks for watching.
Quick and easy; what's not to like? I've used Ketchup before, which is okay. Hard to find a brand that is not loaded with syrup and sugar. My fallback is just basic tomato paste. So many variations can be used in your recipe. I've noticed that A1 sauce has one interesting ingredient; raisins. Food for thought. I look forward to coming up with a style of sauce just right for me. Thanks.
Nice recipe. When I am in a hurry I have a sauce that does not need cooking that I make. It is fast but, of course, it might not develop the subtle flavors that you achieve by cooking.
I do the same when in a pinch. Thanks for watching.
Bbq sauce

Can we use Vinegar instead of Apple Cyder Vinegar?? If yes, how much???
This was a really good sauce, goes good on pork loin
So easy and so good I had to share this with my mom thanks for making this vid.

Can we use Soya sauce instead of Steak Sauce? if not, can we skip it?
Yeah, try substituting it or just leave it out. Personalize it how you want. He replied to a similar comment and said the same thing.
@@n6h6 Thank you.
just what I was looking for thanks :-)
+Jennie Arredondo You're very welcome! Thanks for watching!
Dude you remind me of Micheal Scott. Especially the quick Borat reference.
Fun guy
very simple ooooorah
What does the apple cider vinegar add? Can I do away without it or find a replacement? Not even sure if any supermarket in Uganda has anything close to it
White vinegar or any type of vinegar you can get your hands on. The vinegar helps thin out the sauce, but more importantly helps prolong the shelf life of the sauce. If you don't have access to vinegar, use lemon juice. Thanks for watching!
Thanks. I did. Used lemon juice
great video. thanks
Thanks for watching!
thanks for sharing it with us.. really delicious..😍😍
Thanks for watching!
Manam Shaikh did you try making it? how was it?
dannyb20 vtec yeah i try it .. it was nice ..
Manam Shaikh cool! where are you from?
dannyb20 vtec from france..
Sorry im new to cooking. Just wondering is this for dipping your bbq or is it the one you rub on the bbq before you grill it?
You can use it for dipping or to glaze the meat during the last 10 minutes of cooking. Never put sauce on the meat prior to grilling.
nice recipe. bt I want to ask can mustard powder b used as alternative of mustard sauce.
zunera ahmed Sure, I would Google what the equivalent of dry mustard is to wet since the amount will not be the same.
do you think I could use HP Sauce instead of A1 Steak Sauce? A1 is like impossible to get in Germany.
Yea you can try it and see how it tastes or you can just leave it out. This is just a base bbq sauce recipe so feel free to add your secret ingredients and make it your own. Thanks for watching!
gibts bei amazon ;)
I find A1 to have a more malted vinegar taste than HP sauce, while with the HP has a more sour flavour from the tamarid used in it. I got the A1 online for this recipe for the first time i made it, since then i have used HP sauce and have not noticed the differance, the quality of the ketchup used have a far bigger influance. I also made 2 small mods to the recipe 1) i used garlic paste from a jar 2) I use food proccecor to liquidize the onions , these are habits from making indian/asian recipea from my time in singapore . I tend to do large batches which i freeze in icecube trays then ziploc bags, makes for a quick and easy onions for many dishes.
Great Video!.
Add bit off tennis wiskey
For everyone that struggles. Wus-ter-sheer.
As a Brit it always makes me chuckle when I hear non-brits struggle with the pronunciation of Worsrt-stish, worst-tis, Worts-shish-sire sauce. You can also drop the sheer to just say Wus-ter sauce too
can I use brown sugar
+mark hoskins Brown sugar is in the recipe, so yes!
i thought this was Wil Wheaton
Dilithium Crystals LMAO so did I
Beam me up Scotty!
this was good :)
Did you say "It's a nice!" Like Borat or an Italian Chef? Lol
How long is the storage time? thank
Quang Tran he said 3-4 months
Hi,for how many persons please?
This makes one pint. Increase the ingredients proportionally to make more if you want.
Thanks for sharing, very tasty and delicious.
Can you use it on fish to? :P
@Aleksander Koldal ... Why not? Do you like fish? Do you like the BBQ sauce recipe? If you answered yes to both, put them together and enjoy. The same with any other food product.
I'm hesitant to try this because I hate ketchup, mustard, and A1 with an undying passion. One reason I never felt good about eating BBQ sauce tbh
+Dreadie Andy But all together they're delicious! If you don't like bbq sauce, then look into flavorful rubs and don't use sauce. Good barbecue doesn't need sauce anyways. Thanks for watching!
Worcestershire sauce in the uk is pronounced. " wuster" sauce..much easier!
the bbq looked good until he let the lemon juice drip down his hand haha but its all good ima make this recipe
+Geo M My hands were clean and I did that so the seeds wouldn't go in the sauce. Using a strainer works better, but I didn't have one at the moment so I had to do what I had to do lol. Thanks for watching!
***** haha i was just kidding.i made that recipe but i was missing something but i used what i had and it actually came out good. Thanks for the recipe
"worsestershyer sauce" in the UK we pronounce it "wooster"
"Wustersher". That's how we say it in the uk!
Don't bother. They'll NEVER get it right.
Why do your half cups look like full cups? Too much trouble to publish the recipe?
TruBBQTV,then you video it , in your kitchen.....some how. i lost interst right away. and you don;'t even have a gas stove...lol
Toronto Ont your a special kind of stupid aren't you! You need help with your grammar!
What on earth is he saying? His microphone sucks really bad.
Caster sugar and brown sugar are not wet ingredients.
Darko Bertovic I never said they're wet. I added them to the ketchup and vinegar, making those ingredients "wet" ingredients. Call it what you want because just like your comment it doesn't matter.
I am grammar and form 'fascist' (probably OCD) :-D Sorry for this. In 4:34 in this video, a you started a sentence which ended with: '... it's time to add wet ingredients...' (the bowl in which were sugars), but, you should ignore my comment, this is nice recipe and video, so take it easy ;-) I didn't mean any harm :-). I liked it, haven't I? cheers man.
Not quite like rudy's
OMG

A1....ick....A1 ruins everything. Now I make two different BBQ sauce's. You are missing way to many BBQ secrets that make GREAT BBQ sauce.
+John Caulfield The title of this video is SIMPLE BBQ sauce... it's a base recipe that can be added to for those looking to start making their own sauce, but not be overwhelmed with a whole bunch of ingredients. If you don't like A1 then leave it out.
+TruBBQtv John Foley
How DARE you reply with common sense?? (sarcasm)
I'm enjoying the channel bro.
I have a feeling this isn't going to be edible...
Any cook who doesn't use a spoon or spatula to clean out the "carefully measured" container is not worth watching. Drives women crazy to see the waste.
By all means, don't watch. This isn't baking, no need to count the grains of salt. Also doesn't make good TV to watch me meticulously scrap every last bit of an ingredient.
TruBBQtv John Foley you're my hero.
"Wustersher". That's how we say it in the uk!
+djamesc I like that better!
