Generally, the non-governmental development organizations or NGOs did not collect all the information on loan-deposit and customers centrally while disbursing loans. For this, the customer had no CIB report due to which a CIB report was not required to take a loan from NGO. Most of the rural needs are financed by microfinance institutions and NGOs. But they don't have accurate information about their loans and deposits. It is not possible to know centrally who is borrowing how much money from which institutions.
If CIB is launched, it will be easy to know that information. CIB is being launched in microcredit activities like banks. That is, all the information on loan-deposit and customers will be collected centrally. Bangladesh Bank is reviewing the overall aspect of CIB. The data is being provided by the regulatory body MRA and the pilot program has started. This program has progressed far. This activity will be completed shortly. Once completed, all customer information will be collected centrally to take loans from NGOs. Then the customer will need a CIB report to take a loan from NGO.
