@Joseph Mondragon I haven't seen Fullmetal Alchemist, but yes you are correct. I think I got that quote either when I saw one of WatchMojo's top 10 videos, or probably from something else that featured a top 10 list.
I remember how much my friends warned me about Clannad. I was told my heart would be ripped out, run over, put in a blender, then put back inside me, wounded but perfect. I started watching it, thinking it wasn't so bad because of the many funny moments, but then I got to those heart breaking parts and just couldn't hold it in. I love it so much! This song alone still brings me to tears!
Thought I was prepared after season one, but then my friend gave me a second warning. I believe I finished it just before watching dinner one night and I was a sobbing mess when I went to eat.

This is the exact reason why the feels from Angel Beats, Air, and Charlotte didn't hit as hard. They just weren't long enough for us to get attached as much as in Clannad.

She takes Ushio's hand and they wade into the ankle deep tides. Is this a dream? Nagisa glances over her shoulder and gives a teary eyed half forced smile. Clannad took a spoon cut open my chest used a snapping turtle to cut out my heart smashed it with a hammer then sewed it together after wards it threw enough starfish at it that my was a pile of red mush on the ground them it smashed the mush together and taped it up with duck tape then threw if through a window and rolled in the broken glass and has let it sit there for 7 months
I literally just finished watching this whole anime series and must say that I will never regret watching it or ever forget about it, it made me laugh but it also made me cry. Surprisingly enough it opened my eyes about life and how I should always cherish my time on earth and the people I love, cause I never know when their or my time will stop. Love ones may do me wrong intentionally or not, but I must always find forgiveness and care for them in my heart no matter what...Clannad forever
The music starts with a very sound and quiet tune but it eventually getting bigger and decisive. I personally believe that the flow symbolizes the life of Nagisa: she was a weak girl but wanted to be strong as a mother and a wife.
+immasmashyourface I posted this a week after I finished it, and I guess it is kinda what happened, but I don't see it that way. Their "happy family" was wished by Tomoya, granted by Ushio, it wasn't really "reality" in my eyes. More like a alternate timeline that Ushio created. And Fuuko found Ushio lying alone under a tree at the hospital and Nagisa nor Tomoya seemed to be there, so...
Yeah that part didn't really make sense. Fuko started out complaining about someone calling her short and by the way she was talking, I think she was talking about Tomoya. So a little confusing at the end. It also showed Ushio from the other world right before you see little Ushio which doesn't make sense either. They made it a major point to bring up another reality that's in our world. Then Kotomi started explaining M-brane theory. So, I'm thinking they use that alternate reality for the happy timeline. Ushio even said she will use the wishes she's gathered to change the other world, But that will leave her trapped in her other world. I think the end was showing that that Ushio didn't get trapped and was in our world.
+hitori - kun if you watch episode 25 of the after story all the way to the end, it was the recap episode, tomoya calls out to them, and it shows ushio from the other side in the white dress, and the screen flashes and then theres the adorable ushio
The first time it appeared, this track felt so deeply emotional to me that I just took a moment to just relax listening to it and it made me cry. With the knowledge going in that Nagisa was the main girl, and that Clannad was a cryfest, I could sense that this innocuous first meeting with Nagisa would surely lead to some deep feelings imbued in this song down the road.
I know a lot of people associate this song with Nagisa's death but I don't. In my Opinion it's a very beautiful and wholesome song about their marriage. I love it. Now the parting the foot of a hill version, that one is sad, absolutely heart wrenching.
@@MissDelete2098.if you haven’t gotten your answer he’s talking about the version that plays during ushio’s birth and he’s right, that one guts me every time I listen to the middle of the song.
I've never had an anime mark me as deeply as this one, every part, every emotion, every backstory, the whole development is so touching I can't help but cry sometimes, and omg, I cried myself into dehydration so many times while watching this masterpiece.
Dango, Dango, Dango, Dango, Dango, Dango, Dango...Dango, Dango, Dango, Dango, Dango, Dango Family. When Nagisa and Tomoya sang it to Ushio I hit the feels! The soundtrack to the anime is absolutely amazing and beautiful!
I was going to skip this one in the playlist, to preserve my emotional stability for the evening. But it has already started and I haven't the heart to touch anything...
Man I love the way they even thought to recap all the events in that After Story episode. Plus all the bonus episodes were tons of fun especially the one with Tomoya and Tomoyo.
First time watching this through, I was honestly just shocked at the ending thinking this is the worst thing that could possibly happen to anyone. I didn’t get emotional about it, my mouth just dropped. Now every time I come back to this song or look back on a scene, I just start to break down. This is the only anime that produced enough emotion from me to make me cry. This is one of the most beautiful stories I have ever sat through. At first it seemed boring, but as you get to know the characters and after story comes along, the sad bits with these characters I’ve come to know actually effect me. I feel like I’ve bonded with these fictional characters so much. It really is beautiful what good writing mixed with excellent storytelling can make you feel.
Very well said,. Especially the part about feeling the characters are people you've gotten to know too. The reason the sad moments of Clannad hit as hard as they do is because of how much you resonate with the characters. Feeling hurt seems natural when they do. As is laughing when they banter. And feeling dejected when they suffer. Watching them grow, overcome difficulties and share the joys in life does make you feel like they're your friends too. Clannad's characters will always have a place in my heart.
@@FarCritical Its funny because since this comment, Fruits Basket also made me break down more recently. It was less sad, but somehow got to me more. Still though, Clannad holds a deep place in my heart.
@@ComedyPumpkin Oh hell yeah, Fruits Basket's cast and story is also a very special one to me. I love both it and Clannad to death lol, I just don't want to pick one over the other

Despite most people having sad memories affiliated with this song, I have some fairly happy memories. Clannad brought me closer to a friend who lives across the us from me. And this song is one of the few anime related things my roommate likes. The story was sad, but the things it left me with are things to be happy about.
clannad left a scar in my core that is not going to heal.. i will be with this scar till i die i will remember nagisa, tomoya, ushio, akio, sanae, till i die.. clannad made go back to time where i was very stubborn and cant be controlled. Clannad showed me the new path. Clannad Showed Me How I Need To Protect Everything In My Sorroundings. I thank you for everything clannad for showing me the path i have been lost for years. i cant thank this anime enough.. but this is what i can only do.. once again thank you clannad
To all you kids who cry at this, this song isn't sad. Nor is the After Story's ending. It all worked out in the end. In fact, they had a happy life after that and it's a really happy ending. I imagine them living as a family right now... I wish I could have a life like that. I thank the creators of this anime/manga. Without it, I would have something missing. Thanks for reading!

And this song is one of the few anime related things my roommate likes. The story was sad, but the things it left me with are things to be happy about.
Five seconds, and I started to cry
Gosh i really love this soundtrack :') 💕
I haven't seen this in 6 months and I still cried after hearing this again.
ughh the feels, they hit me hard.
I still cry when I hear this song. Best romantic comedy ever.
Tears suddenly starts to fall without any awareness.
My favorite scene is when the world turns from black and white to color, I feel like it has a lot of symbolism to it
Especially now that I'm married.....now that I know the happiness of being in love like this.....it makes this song even harder to listen to.
I remember when I first discovered this anime..hearing this song brings back so much nostalgia! I love it.
using the ending song as a canon song in the show and use it in the soundtrack at thematically important places is just AGH the best.
wow the music seems to be moving. but when i pause the music it stops. dahell. oh wait its the tears distorting the image. my bad
clannad left a scar in my core that is not going to heal.. i will be with this scar till i die i will remember nagisa, tomoya, ushio, akio, sanae, till i die.. clannad made go back to time where i was very stubborn and cant be controlled. Clannad showed me the new path. Clannad Showed Me How I Need To Protect Everything In My Sorroundings. I thank you for everything clannad for showing me the path i have been lost for years. i cant thank this anime enough.. but this is what i can only do.. once again thank you clannad

She steal my heart, my soul and my feelings ;-;
Oh, another Clannad video, ok, I'm not going to cry
(Breathe)
NAGISAAAAAAAA
People cry for their ex, I cry for Nagisa.
Same ;-;
To all you kids who cry at this, this song isn't sad. Nor is the After Story's ending. It all worked out in the end. In fact, they had a happy life after that and it's a really happy ending. I imagine them living as a family right now... I wish I could have a life like that. I thank the creators of this anime/manga. Without it, I would have something missing. Thanks for reading!
I can't hear this song without crying
I cried like a baby the entire second half of Afterstory. Judge me please, I don't even care

honestly, as i was watching clannad i couldnt appreciate how good the music is because i was busy crying at the entire anime. ;_;
This fucking anime I watch in 2012 but I still remember main content of this anime.
In this anime there is a lesson that is Cherish the time you spend with your family and people close to you because at the end only happy memories you spent with them is remain with you all time.
