Oh it's even better. A lot of this was added in from the light novels that were written after the manga, which added literally ALL the context for the entire arc.

You'll die if you hesitate." - Old Man Zangetsu === We finally got the Soul King's true name after all these years: Adnyeus (アドナイェウス, Adonayeusu). Kubo promised it in Q&A #493 on "Klub Outside" and he has delivered. Fun Fact: We've heard the name Adnyeus in Bleach before in Episode 25. "Raise them! Silver emblems, ashen meadows, circular path buried in light. Eye of agate, tongue of gold, skull cup, *coffin of Adnyeus.* The object we raise is your heart. Auswählen." Fun Fact 2: Adnyeus likely originates from Adonaios, an Archon from Gnosticism. Alternatively, it can originate from Adonai, one of Seven Names of God in the Abrahamic religions. Another of said names is YHWH. === Ichibe sus as ever. Peace requires sacrifice. === The thing I love most about the anime adaptation is that we understand Yhwach so much better now. Even the Can't Fear Your Own World light novels didn't do this much. Yhwach is a much more sympathetic villain than he used to be for those who only read the manga. === It's heavily implied in this episode that Aizen could never have broken the seal on the Soul King even if he defeated Squad Zero. He never had Quincy and Human powers even if the Hogyoku could have given him Hollow and Fullbring powers. In fact, I think his god complex would have rebelled at the idea of having to be part Human. === First time we've ever seen real panic in Urahara's face. === The end of the universe begins.
Wait Aizen didn't have Fullbringer power tho? Also iirc I read somewhere that his explosive attack to Ichigo after his final hyokogu transformation is considered a Quincy technique
@@resurgingflame 1. Final Getsuga Tensho is a Shiba technique as shown by the fact that Isshin tried to learn it from Engetsu. Mistaking it for a Quincy technique is because of its similarities to Letz Stil. 2. I wasn't saying that Aizen _had_ fullbringer powers. I was saying that he _could_ since the Hogyoku turned Chad and Orihime into Fullbringers plus the Hogyoku was created from the same Soul King fragments that the Fullbringers draw their own powers from (the Hollow reiatsu exposure merely activates them).
