I would have preferred to see the free version first, just to know if it's good enough.

WHAT’S THERE IN WP MEDIA FOLDERS PRO?
      Advanced sort options
Once upgraded, you will be able to sort files by file name, created date, modified date, author, newest or oldest, etc. Whether you want to sort files and folders by default, or temporarily, there’s always a sorting method for you.
      Create subfolders
Each subfolder is a child of the parent folder that is above it. With CatFolders Pro, a main folder can hold unlimited subfolders. The parent/child analogy helps you organize your files more efficiently. It’s very easy to hide or show all folders below the selected folder.
      Folder access permissions
Enable global folder structure where everyone sees the same categorization, or set folder permissions based on user roles. Access permissions include add new, view, and edit folders. Recommended for multi-author blogs, multi-vendor marketplace websites, and ecommerce businesses.
      Third-party themes and page builders
Not every theme and plugin has the same way of building, we work hard to deliver extra compatibility. So WP Media Folders will work with these builders throughout your website building stage:
      Gutenberg
      Elementor
      WPBakery
      Visual Composer
      Themify
      Divi Builder by Elegant Themes
      Thrive Architect
      Beaver Builder
      Oxygen
      Cornerstone Page Builder
      Tatsu Builder
Bricks - Visual Site Builder for WordPress
      Brizy WordPress Builder
      Fusion Page Builder

Thanks for the info. This looks like the mediamatic or other similar plugins. It would be interesting to know the limitations of the free version

If you go here at the bottom of that page it tells you what's included in the PRO version: wordpress.org/plugins/catfolders/
These are basically the limitations of the FREE version...

Another great video. BUT, you have to admit that it's crazy that after 20 years of WordPress in 2023 that these BASIC capabilities of folders and subfolders are not natively built into to WordPress. Mr. Web is a super chap, a great channel, but being delighted about this solution should be an embarrassment to @WordPress period.

I often wondered the same. Like why do we still need to add a maintenance page plugin? Shouldn't that be part of WordPress by default? It's literally just a couple lines of codes and wouldn't bloat anything

@@Mr_Web Yes, absolutely. So much Wordpress development time is spent / waster on sh1t that 90% of users DONT want, like a new theme when there are 1000's out there.
Sorry for my slow reply I missed your response. You a wonderful job, PLEASE KEEP GOING - Thank You.

Does this still store images in the default wp-content/uploads folder structure, or does it create its own folder structure outside of the Wordpress defaults? I would hope that it uses the default folder structure because otherwise the images would not export correctly if they were stored outside of the default structure. Also, what happens to the images if you should happen to uninstall the plugin - do they just go back into the media library as they normally would have?
