  • We tested a range of fans to see how they performed with a variety of different ducting runs. We tested the sound levels, power consumption and airflow.
Please note, this is a comparative test not performed under strict lab conditions.
PLEASE READ OUR ARTICLE EXPLAINING THE TESTING METHODS...

If you look at their spec sheet, they measured their readings using rigid ducting on both ends at 3m away from the fan. That's how their noise readings are a lot lower than in this video where you use flexible ducting and are about 1m away from fan. Using flexible ducting also increases static pressure which is why there is such a drop in air movement. Always use rigid ducting.

According to our tests, the quietest were the box fans. But that obviously doesn't tell the whole story - for instance, the S&P was not AS quiet, however it performed much better under pressure. What's the point in having a quite fan if it only pulls through 50% of the its rated air flow?

I just bought the TD 1000/200 and it came with no wires! I thought it came with a mains plug that I can just plug into a fan controller.
Can someone direct me where or how to wire it up please, would be very grateful!

You are running this fan on highest Volts. Nobody will use this fan in it's default config. Always take it down >110V or more depending on the calculation. When you need to exhaust 700m3/h you should buy the 1040-740 version & take it down to 140 - 170V. With an insulation you'll get ~37dBu. But I don't understand why you have such a loss in pressure...

AC Infinity prices are insane in EU ($400-600). Also, this unit moves more air than AC Infinity (8" is rated at 850cfm).
