I appreciate everyone watching this video! Reached way more people than I had anticipated. I have more photo mode videos (and a Japan vlog) on my channel if you're interested in watching more of my stuff 📷
Apart from praising your video, I want also to give you a "Man of Culture" award for using the black-pink Orca Exploration suit. This costume is so aesthetically pleasing and gorgeous. Thanks for the video, it was definitely interesting and useful ! This is a great photo mode and I think it's an understatement.
One of the coolest things about the Nier update is that with Eve's white hair you can use the moveable lights in the photo mode, adjust the color settings and brightness. And bam, any color hair you want for Eve.
Thank you! A couple years ago, I got a comment on a social media post from a photography teacher who actually used my earlier photo mode videos in their classroom. If my video gets anyone excited about trying photography in real life, then my goal has been accomplished!
The environment transparency actually affects mostly objects between characters and the camera or otherwise in close approximate to the characters. Certain objects like foliage, debris etc. turn transparent so they wouldn't block the view. You can turn those fully visible with this option. The console you are showing in the video has some transparency apllied to it's front as Eve is standing next to it, which dims the lights on it quite a bit when the option is turned off.
I never bother with photo mode in games but messed around with it in stellar blade to get the outfits of course. But this video was amazing and made me realize how insightful you are and how in depth the devs went with this feature.
To be honest looking at the way to community is responding to photo mode I would say its extremely tame and creative. I've honestly seen some crazy ass pictures that I was like how in the world did you do that
I dont think its a bug for the FOV making Eve disappear if set to low. I think its their way to limit getting super close shots of her. Ik because i tried to get some detailed shots of her assets. But then i noticed also that her clothes go low resolution then go back to normal after adjusting the FOV again so she doesnt vanish. In Spiderman, u can zoom in all the way and see the individual tiny holes in his eyes, bit with Eve they limited that Closeness. Need them to remove that restriction.
It would be nice to see them fix it so I can take portrait shots using the telephoto side of the FOV slider. When using a telephoto lens on a real camera, it naturally adds background blur the further you zoom in, then you can adjust it with your aperture. It was bizarre to see I couldn't do that here and it cuts off at a specific distance even though the camera is actually further away from Eve. I typically like taking portrait shots using a telephoto lens
@@MirorImage yea, the limit sucks because I like to see the model in great detail to see how well the 3d modelers did it(also for the pics lol) but I wonder if its because of that problem where only in photo mode, Eve's model gets low res after passing the FOV limit. Devs gotta find a way so that doesnt happen so they can allow full use of the FOV closeup.
I returned to Stellar Blade just for this mode. Thank you for the comprehensive video. I would very much appreciate if you could make more tutorials for this mode. I have been messing around with it, but would like to get a nice artistic shot, similar to a pin up, but I have yet to master all these tools
Thanks for this. I thought the game's Photo Mode was meh before because I thought it was just limited to taking out selfies. What I solely use photo mode for in RPGs is pausing to take a peek at what's ahead or behind walls...to see if enemies are hiding as a heads up. From the vid I see now there a normal mode you can call up for what I want which is good. That being said I can see, especially from what you've shown, that they've really did an amazing job for those wanting to take selfies etc. Cheers.
Thanks for the explanations I never ever care for photo mode but his one genuinely intrigued me because ppl were making screenshots that are worth wallpapers on base PS5 so I had to try but I'm barebones when it comes to photography knowledge. PS: good taste or ORCA outfit brother PSS: song name? very chill
That's primarily why I make these videos, teach real world photography using video game photo modes without you having to invest in expensive photography equipment early on Song is: SCENE - Dawn Dawn (Instrumental Version), I got it from Epidemic Sound
It would be cool if you made content showing how you as a photographer compose shots through games with photo modes. I'm a photographer and gamer, and to be honest Photo Modes in gaming is one of the reasons I decided to be a photographer in the first place lol
So I gotta be the one to pont this out: the city is called "Zi-on", not "Shi-own". It's nammed after the city in Heaven from the Bible, which is in ancient Hebrew, not a Chinese or Korean translation. Same English translation spelling. The Matrix films also coppied a lot from the Bible too, including Xion. Anyway I lvoe your video! Thanks so much for making it, I'll share it with my friends.
Hi thanks a lot. this is by far the best explanation of the photo mode and an introduction in the basics of taking photos. But I have a problem: when I press the button shoot nothing happens and in addition is there any gallery?
It's the Option button. If you look at the bottom of the screen in photo mode it tells you what to do for whatever. To take a pic/shoot, you see "Shoot" associated with the Options button. You can also see it it the vid here. Look at the bottom right of the screen.
@ oh the quest! Equip the selfie camera (not photo mode) from the item wheel (hold ⬇️). Aim the selfie camera at the objective and it automatically takes the picture.

Thank you! Yeah this outfit I rarely see anyone use, but it has been my favorite since I first got it
Great video, thanks for going into detail about every setting in photo mode.
One of the coolest things about the Nier update is that with Eve's white hair you can use the moveable lights in the photo mode, adjust the color settings and brightness. And bam, any color hair you want for Eve.
Thanks, it was very educational!
You're welcome! I'm glad you found it helpful
Dude you are feeding my addiction with this photo, Thanks a lot for going indepth with the many features
Like I had a somewhat general idea but getting knowledge from a photographer is just blowing my mind.
Awesome! Thanks for explaining with detail.
Great video! Really learned a lot! Photography classes should use Stellar Blades photo mode to teach students lol.

@MirorImage really!?
Wow that's really cool!
probably the best photo mode I have seen in a game, I love screenarchery, can't wait for it to release on pc
Nice video!!

Scatter is probably emulating like dust or fog in the air that scatters the light so you get that glow around the light, makes it look atmospheric

I agree. I too have seen some crazy pictures of her ass *chef’s kiss*
I really appreciate the video. You did a great job explaining all the features of the camera mode thanks a lot man. 💯

My bad, I'm a Kingdom Hearts fan and have been saying it as "Shi-own" for many years.
I'm glad you enjoyed the video!

Thank you for the kind words! Press the Options button to take a screenshot, and the image will be in your Media Gallery app on the PS5
I also appreciate that you are showing some love to the Orca Exploration Suit!🫶🏻
But how to take the photo ? Wich button ?

“Share” button that’s on the top left side of the touch pad.
I don't get it I hold the capture button, took the photo and it doesn't let me complete the quest.
@ oh the quest! Equip the selfie camera (not photo mode) from the item wheel (hold ⬇️). Aim the selfie camera at the objective and it automatically takes the picture.
@@Elichamilion thank you! I ended up somehow doing this by accident
