Great minds think alike with this build as I know we both mentioned wanting to build this over a month ago. Great idea with the router as it gave it a nice finished look!
Thanks man. Ya, it's all about making sure you get the glue all the way to the edges and clamping it up well. Then you can make it pretty much perfect by sanding.
Love this. I think I am going to try and make one of these that can be dis-assembled and re-assembled for transporting it. Maybe I will make the main dowel rod screw in to the base and also screw in to the top.
I started by tying the string onto the ring then putting it over the hook. Then then I tied it to the eye and tested it. I made several small adjustments until it worked properly. Then I cut the extra string off and melted the end of the wire.
Any finish or even no finish is fine. It's all about how you want it to look. I would use a scrap piece of the same material and test both finishes and see which you like better. Thanks for watching and let me know if you have any other questions!
Anything from 1 1/2"- 3" should be fine. The wood glue does most of the work once it dries. Just make sure you predrilled a small hole and put it in straight.

Thanks!
So good. I need one now
Heck ya you do!
Very cool and thorough explanation. I am going to revisit this on my channel with a step by step one day lol
Thank you! I always try to be as detailed as I can without boring anyone. It's a difficult balance for sure!
Your base looks pretty seamless for being made from two parts. Nice job!

This looks like a fun project, thanks for the ideas!
It was a fun project and definitely a fun game with family or friends.
Great video thanks for the help made it rly easy 👍👍👍
No problem! Thanks for watching.
Thanks!! I will do it.

That's a good idea. You could put a theaded insert in the dowel. Ive also seen them where the top piece folds down.
Awesome build! Love the wooden shot glass too! 👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you!
Great content!
Thank you so much! I try to keep improving!
cool game and great tutorial! looks like a lot of fun - and a massive hangover the next day. 😂 cheers from switzerland ✌🏻
Thanks! You could also play with the game piece or shots of 🍺!
Great video
Thank you!
Cool little game you made. 👍
Thanks man! It's fun!
Great thumbnail, you'll definitely do well in the games contest
Thanks man! I just hope I at least get in the newsletter!
@@HowIDoThingsDIY you seem to get one in every other issue at the rate you're going
It's definitely important to my growth at this point. Many of my subs have came from newsletters.
New sub here love this channel!
Thanks so much! I need the support of people like you to keep doing what I do!
What kind of wood did you use or suggest?
Any kind of wood is fine. I used mostly pine, but the large dowel was something else, but it was close enough.
Great video man, and funny game. Did you at one point make music with your machines?
Thanks. Not intentionally, but I feel like the music is always inside of me just trying to get out... Haha.

I’m having a tough time tying the rope at the correct length and with knot slippage. Any pointers?
I started by tying the string onto the ring then putting it over the hook. Then then I tied it to the eye and tested it. I made several small adjustments until it worked properly. Then I cut the extra string off and melted the end of the wire.
What type of finish would you put on this game? Like polycrylic or Lin seed oil
Any finish or even no finish is fine. It's all about how you want it to look. I would use a scrap piece of the same material and test both finishes and see which you like better. Thanks for watching and let me know if you have any other questions!
What type of string did you use?
I just bought some string from the hardware store. Nothing special.
I’d want to make sure I have some practice in before playing.
Hahaha. Ya, it could get crazy quickly. Maybe start with shots of Miller Lite.
What speed square are you using to find the center of the boards? Great build, hitting the scrap pile today.
Its and Empire speed square from Amazon. Here is a link and I also added one to my description. Thanks for watching!

What size of screws did you use to screw the boards to the dowel?
Anything from 1 1/2"- 3" should be fine. The wood glue does most of the work once it dries. Just make sure you predrilled a small hole and put it in straight.
Hi
Nice project,
1:10 and 4:40 I have same tool but first time I saw your project. Can you explain use of this technic? Thank you
Thanks! Sorry I didn't explain it in the video. It's just an easy way of finding the center of the workpiece.
You tilt the square until you got a number that's easy to divide in half
Exactly. Thanks for adding.
What size are the rings?
I put some Amazon links in the video description.
How long is the shot ladder? And where did you space the holes?
Thanks for watching! Its 12" long and the 1 1/2" holes are 2" apart.
what profile bit was used?
For the router? It was just a chamfer bit. Nothing fancy but you could use whatever you like the look of best.
@@HowIDoThingsDIY thought so! Great videos man! keep em coming
Sure thing! New video is ready to go for Friday morning!
What size rings and cup hooks did you use? Great video thank you!
Great question! They are about 1" ID and 1 1/4" OD.
Where did you buy the rings at?
I bought them at a hardware store but I put Amazon Links in the video description.
Can use key ring too
I suppose that could work. The ones I bought at the hardware store had more weight to them than a key ring which I prefer.
where do you get the rings????
I got them from the hardware store but there should be a link in the video description to some very similar ones.
From Ace Hardware dude it's called a split ring, if you want to order it, looked like 3/4 inch
@mikejungferman4744 Thanks.
Just one more "thumbs-up" and I would have to chug the bottle of tequila!
Hahahhahah. Ya, I rarely do that on some of my newer videos.
How do you like your drill guide? Any complaints?
It works ok. I really wish I had room for drill press, but this is the next best thing. I've gotten decent results.
Great video
Thanks for watching!
