For me there are no bad arcs in One Piece. So far not a single arc bored me. Some arcs are worse than others but for me personally not a single one is truly bad.
Yeah I remembered after I finished One Piece my friend asked “What would you rate it?” And frankly that’s an impossible question to answer. One Piece is so long and diverse it’s like rating a series of shows as one. I told her “I don’t think every part was perfect, but there was never a time I was bored, or wanted to skip an episode or wished an arc would just finish. It’s crazy entertaining and a great experience!”
I gotta bring a little hate here sorry, but I really didn't like Punk Hazard. I personally only found a couple jokes funny and it only had like 3 redeeming qualities (Introducing Kinemon, Introducing Law again, setting up for Dressrosa). I think One Piece has one bad arc. It's like 3.5/10 for me tbh.
I was trying to rewatch One Piece, and in a single day I watched the first few episodes, but getting to Syrup Village made me stop watching the show for about 7 months.
Coming back, I simply skipped Syrup Village and I watched about 9 hours back to back and it wasn’t until the Chopper Island that I ended up taking another extended break.
After about 5 months or so, I just skipped Chopper’s island and kept watching 6+ hours a day.

Also, just a couple suggestions, but I do think you should try rewatching those parts to get the same material. There's the 4 kids dub (if you can get access to it). It's hilarious. Especially Drum Island. That way you can still get the same material with at least some enjoyment. Or just play the games. The games kinda make every arc decent. I mean, the games themselves are incredibly mid, but the gameplay in some of them is simple fun. Especially Pirate Warriors 3. That's just a hack and slash game I had fun with when I was younger.

As for my issues with Syrup Island, it's just running back and forth with nothing happening, until the boss fight, if it was a video game, you have to talk to 3 NPCs and they all send you to opposite sides of the island and each trip takes 20+ minutes, so it's just artificially longer because of padding instead of having actual content.
With Chopper, I detest the very character itself and the fact the entire island is focused on it makes me want to not even watch the show, at all, and I effectively tried to erase any knowledge of it from my mind to keep me from having blinding rage at that thing's introduction.
They should have got Kureha as the doctor, and if they needed someone that could talk to animals, even Apis would have been preferable to Chopper. (Even though she's filler)
And Chopper just gets WORSE as the show goes on, Usopp at least improves as a character, even if he is absolutely insufferable for a good 30% of the show.
If Chopper was actually human, that would be one thing, but he has a VASTLY better sense of smell and couldn't even tell the difference between the Fake Straw Hats and his friends and his entire schtick is just to be cute and marketable while doing nothing that anyone else could have done just as well, if not better.
The show's creator even realised what a waste Chopper was and gave him NOTHING for about 400 episodes, which is vastly longer than most anime series even get to exist, which begs the question of why is he even there?
First arc where Zoro and Sanji lock in and work together 🗣️
LRLR filler also has one of the funniest jokes in the series where they’re all running in a race that’s essentially it’s a straight line and Zoro still gets lost and goes “It… it just ends???”

This is deadass one of my favorite arcs in One Piece, pretty much for all the reasons you said; the comedy & character moments are top notch, and I like how chill the arc is compared to the rest of the series. Even with the added filler, watching this arc is a good time 👌🏾
Really hope the one piece remakes gives this arc justice while keeping the same funny vibe
It is extremely important as a set up for Water Seven, without it there impact wouldn’t be as huge.
1. The strawhats have to fight as a team for the first time! Before everyone did their 1 on 1
2. Usopps insecurity and Choppers much needed independence.
3. Luffy being aware how weak he is and that he has to come up with new methods to fight.
4. The fun game of loosing crew members and then REALLY loosing them.
I get that the Anime Fillers are way too much but i like the Original Story of the Arc.
This arc was a very fun time and it was funny as heck, Foxy was such an entertaining villain with all the stupid stuff he does and Luffy falling for it. I definitely think the Davy Back Fight will have some important role in the future and I hope we see a powerful character from the void century that used Foxy's fruit to it's fullest potential.

There is not a single character in One Piece that gets under my skin like Foxy. Absolutely no redeeming qualities, and the way his crew hypes him up and defends him while Luffy just takes it on the chin... It was entertaining the first two times, but it got very annoying after that. They took wayyyy too long to get to the obvious conclusion.
Davy Back Fight as a concept is really fun, and Foxy's fruit was also very cool. There were some good moments too, like Zoro telling Chopper to man up. I also think there's a very solid chance that this is where Laugh Tale is located, so I can't hate on LRLL completely.
...but I will hate on Foxy all damn day

As a person that discovered One Piece when it aired on Toonami in 2013. I believe this is peak One Piece. I was shocked and sad to hear people didnt like this arc cause i think it was the perfect starting point. LRLL Arc establishes all the character dynamic for the straw hats that is necessary for me to understand the impact Water 7 has on the crew. Glad to discover a fellow intellectual.

Long ring long land embodies the soul of one piece if we being real. That shit is right up Luffy’s alley, having a seemingly unrelated detour of stupid games and a dumb ass villain, that’s half the reason luffy even wants to be on an adventure in the first place. Plus it gave us some good chopper + Robin moments, sanji + Zoro team up and Afro luffy + usopp. Not to mention Davy Back fights will probably be relevant later in the story, and the fact that the animals grow super long because they feel free (literally nika) + the island is I the shape of a crown and traveling around it has to do with the changing water levels, the foreshadowing is crazy. I will defend this arc til I die
My favorite part about this arc is Aokiji's appearance. Him icing the way to let Tonjit and Sherry catch up with their tribe showed that Aokiji was a genuinely good dude, him asking out Nami was hilarious, but the fact that he neg diffed Luffy and kept his word not to touch his crew was something nice. AND because he neg diffed Luffy, Luffy started developing his Gears so he'd actually be able to handle higher level enemies. Something a lot of people don't appreciate is that Luffy had gotten as far as this strictly off of the training that Garp gave (viciously drove) into him. He hadn't had to take a training arc or anything since he left Dawn Island.
But yeah, Long Ring Long Land is probably one of the most important small arcs alongside Little Garden (which 4kids skipped like dumbasses) as it truly sets up long term stuff in a subtle and completely non-dramatic way.
People forget that THIS is the arc that showed just how weak the straw hats were when they got layed out by aokiji. It set up the necessity for tumeskip and during marineford when luffy squared up to the three admirals, it showcased luffy's determination because at LRLL the entire crew was subdued by one admiral, and he was facing 3 by himself, proving he needed to get stronger.
Also it had Afro Luffy.
I agree tbh when I 1st started watching op this was the first arc I could retain information w and fell in love the characters

It’s a funny arc that builds the chemistry of the crew, but it’s unlike any one piece arc before/after it as it barely adds anything to the story in terms of world building. I’ll never hate on anyone for liking it, but it’s way too long for what it wants to do.

LRLL is pretty fun. I feel like the biggest hate for it is two-fold;
Toei/the anime, and just what happens after Long Ring.
Toei was known to stretch shit out for padding and they were doing a bunch of heinous stretching in Skypeia and ABSOLUTELY doing it in LR. They intentionally made it be two full three round games. That shit was agonizing. And after all the pacing in Skypeia, it made people just hate it even more.
Also the fact that this is the precursor to one of the most goated arcs of the series, lots of people will put THAT arc to the spotlight and not even care about what happened before.
It's like how Thriller Bark is hated because it was kinda stuck between two goated sagas and like...we need to have levity arcs between two massive climaxes.
Really I didn’t think much of the arc until afro luffy showed up, that’s probably my favorite part in the show fr. That had me more hyped then when I first saw gear 5
I have this crazy theory that Luffy specifically trained 2nd Gear as a way to counter Aokiji. He heats up his blood and becomes extremely fast, which were the problems he faced during that fight. It also makes sense for Luffy, cuz just making yourself hotter just sounds like something Luffy would think, and if Aokiji didn’t leave Robin, he would’ve lost a crew member, and he couldn’t allow to take the chance to to lose again. It just all makes sense to me

People that don't like this Arc really don't understand One Piece. This Arc is wacky , weird and funny, which what One Piece is about. They know The Straw Hats get into odd situations. Also, Foxy wasn't meant a to be a serious villain. Honestly, I wouldn't even call him a villain. This is also another dumb complaint. Lol Moreover, after seeing Buggy in the prologue, people shouldn't have been surprised to see Foxy. Bottom line, the Foxy Arc is overhated. It's not that long, it's God level funny and memorable. Great video, btw.
At the very least, this arc isn't too long. Long Ring Long Land is more of a mini-arc like Drum Island and Sabaody Archipelago. Had it been the length of Thriller Bark or Skypiea, that would've been reprehensible. It's manageable enough here.

I feel the same since even if robin getting taken was filler I still thought it was pretty good. And I love its introduction to new devil fruits like the rip off leopard fruit and slow slow fruit. And he almost reminds me of a pre timeskip big mom since he had a whole bunch diffrent kind of crew mates but the one that stuck out to me was the breed between fishman and giant. Since before this we didnt know that things like that existed so to me it was really cool. And with aokiji and the humor through the arc made it go by very fast. And I miss that arc. Since post time skip I feel like we dont get that same kind of comedy.

Long ring long land to me is an okay arc with some decent moments. At first i didn't really care about it, especially in the anime where they do a whole second davy back and the pacing goes out the window.
Also i really liked Afro Luffy and his absolute refusal to let any of his crew go away, nice little foreshadowing.
Zoro and Chopper have that great moment and Robin has that telling scene with Aokiji at the end of the arc

Personally I really like Long Ring Long Land, I've always adored more low stakes plots in anime so this arc was just fun to me. I like to sum this arc as The Straw Hats get ambushed by Waluigi and forced to play Mario Party for the sake of their crewmembers. Viewing One Piece as just a Loony Toons battle/adventure Shonen is just one part of what keeps me enjoying the story and looking forwards to more.

Watching Dressrosa with a cut down special version, I can't help but notice that Ling long ding dong arc might not be the worst one, especially in the anime...
Also, Tenchi Bridge arc is probably the worst arc in naruto, but its still a solid 7-8/10 and that Orochimaru fight will never not be good.
I enjoyed Long Ring Long Land more than Thriller Bark and Fishmen Island because at least it was shorter

The worst arc was Syrup Village. The only good thing that came of that arc was Merry Go.
When I first got into One Piece, I watched the anime without a filler guide and LRLL was the run killer for me. That adaptation is brutal. Not only is it littered with filler, it's also when the canon episodes really started to slow down. A few years back, I actually graphed the amount of chapters per episode for every arc of One Piece. East Blue up to Alabaster is around 2 chapters per episode, which is the normal pace for an anime adaptation. Alabaster itself and Skypeia are about 1.5 chapters per episode. But LRLL is really when the anime slowed down and started adapting a chapter per episode. (And since the timeskip they've been adapting 3/4ths of a chapter per episode.)
It disappoints me that people won’t watch the story FOR THE STORY!! Literally everything seems so basic nowadays that getting into something new is rare as shit, especially when it’s actually good at telling its story. Like you said most of that stuff that was something for followers of the story to learn about more of the one piece world and its concepts that exist with in it. But honestly I’d probably rate this arc a nifty nine out of ten. Cause watching this video reminded me how much I really paid attention to one piece when I started it, that minus one would be for foxy tho. Not cause he’s a bad villain, but cause he’s an annoying dic.

God damn long ring long land is my 4th-5th arcs
The only thing I disagree with is Robin to a degree. I think in this arc The Straw Hats slip past her defense of not getting attached to people because they're playing a game so she's not really focused on anything but playing and winning the game (which she is trying to win) with the straw hats where she gets a first hand experience with who she's dealing with, seeing how the crew really is. She's not attached yet I believe her almost dying by ice boy and saved by the straw hats is what really gets her attached but I don't think she's thinking of running away or even thinking about how she could abandon them I mean look at the end of Alabasta, she literally just wanted to die she gave up but sky Island and the straw hats gave her hope. Long ring gave her joy and Ice Boy cemented that the straw hats got her back and Enis lobby broke Robins wall letting her know it's okay to dream of a better life it's okay to trust in your friends.
I went overboard kinda but the short is I believe Robin is just relaxing without knowing it and falling in love with the straw hats.

The characters are all peak in this arc, especially the Chopper moment. I won't lie though the extra filler in the anime is ridiculous and without knowing that the slander is justified, but watch this space Foxy stocks will climb soon
I never understood the hate for this arc, it's gods dammed hilarious. It's the only times I actually chooses to watch the fillers cuz they are funny as hel. People need to stop hating on this arc and see it as the light hearted pause between two long arcs that it is.

The anime for long ring long land is full of filler that makes it drag. Read it in the manga, it’s only a few chapters. There’s some aspects of character development that are important to the next few arcs so i also wouldn’t recommend skipping it. But the anime pacing is horrific for this section, manga def the way to go.
I mean... respectfully... apart from Kuzan’s introduction... I kinda didn't care about the arc and almost thought it was filler...

The thing I always heard about Long Ring Long Land, at least in the anime, was that it was unnecessarily long. ITS ONLY 15 EPISODES!!! Compare that to the previous arc, which was more than double the length. If any arc is worth being the worst in One Piece, it's Punk Hazard. That was unnecessarily long

Big take.... the adventure and discovery aspects of the series is more interesting than just the pure action.... I like big fights but honestly, right now it just seems too bloated with "big epic fights" that don't really get me as hyped as a lot of fans are... I don't even care about the whole Mythicals stuff, I preferred seeing Devil Fruits being used in unique ways that made them powerful.
Though how important Mythicals really are when MOST of the guys shown towards the end of chapter 1121, in reference for finding the One Piece, aren't Mythical DF Users or even DF Users at all, including Blackbeard who be an end game boss and then Akainu who did solo Marco and Vista... Marco a Mythical who solo'd King and Queen, then Vista who can clash blades with Mihawk, both Haki users and Lava Logia guy solo'd them.
