I only just realized the incredible irony in the Luffy vs. Usopp fight. ...In countless Luffy fights, the antagonist will often say something to Luffy, often after a silly attack or maneuver from our rubber boy, like, "Hey! Take this fight seriously!", to which Luffy almost always replies "I am fighting seriously!" For Luffy to say that to Usopp during their fight, "Hey, get serious, fight me for real!" is an incredible twist, and just makes the Usopp underdog dynamic more real then ever before. God D. Usopp is the true hero of this story.
He was literally untouchable to the marines. They called him a monster. I refute that the straw hats have a monstrous trio. He stood shoulder to shoulder with the trio at Arlong Park as an equal.
Usopp is my favourite One Piece character due to how similar I see my personality to his so I can't wait for Usopp to get to Elbaf and finally achieve his dream of being a Brave Warrior of the Sea
Seriously, I'd like to imagine being Zoro or Franky or someone strong and cool in one piece but realistically I know that if I was born in that world I'd be a lot more like Usopp than any of the other straw hats

He has a lot of flaws, but that makes him a more interesting and relatable character. I appreciate that we always see him growing and overcoming his fears. I like how Oda has the confidence in his work to let the reader come to their own conclusion when it came to how he behaved in Dressrosa. It would make reading it a lot less interesting if the narrator just told us exactly why he was acting like his pre-timeskip self.
What do you think Ussop’s buff (if he hopefully gets one) will be? Devil fruit? Haki? Im not sure if I want him to get a devil fruit because I still enjoy the idea of Ussop being a normal human. I’m thinking maybe his mighty kabuto eats a devil fruit. They’ve introduced two weapons eating devil fruits so maybe we’ll see him with one!
5:20 this was something I really wish was in the Live Action. Usopp actually did things in this Arc that genuinely impressed every member of the crew. In their minds, he legitimately earned his spot on the crew. Zoro being impressed by how he weaved his lie to the kids made the "Just get on already" later on feel earned and meaningful.
18:48 Usopp was already severely injured and could barely even walk. You can see he practically never moves a lot in the fight. A little prep time is NOTHING considering his disadvantage.

He couldn’t just show up as Con D. Oriano though, the writers would’ve been pissed, so he decided to come as Sogeking instead.
It's arguable, if Sanji could've beat Zoro's opponents, or could've Zoro beat opponents of Sanji. But it is an absolute fact, that even them both at the same time don't stand a chance against some of Usop's enemies

I think Luffy falling for Usopp's lies is genuine. Luffy's usually in too good of a mood to question the small things like that. But Luffy prepared for his fight with Usopp. Despite often falling for his tricks, Luffy has shown that hes aware Usopp is a liar, and was probably very on guard for that in their fight.
If you guys are still unconvinced for usopp I highly recommend totally not marks video where he analyzes usopps whole character and why he's very important
I will die on the hill that usopp would have at least tied luffy if he started that battle without the handicap from the franky family. Also his dressrosa snipe is quite literally rocket science that he does in his head on the spot.
