    This is why this channel is so successful, Paul never goes cheap and always goes all out in every aspect. He’s always looking to make improvements even in the most minor details. I’ve never seen a farm channel that really cares so much about the aesthetics, usually everything is run down and half way put together. I love these types of build videos so much!

    Under your gutter drains i think you should put a small ramp to push the water away from the structure. Kinda like how gutters have those ramp flow things under them or a turned out end. You could use a gutter thingy on the ground but i would just lean a tile or something small against the structure just to help push the water out a little and keep it looking nice. Unless you guys have a drain under the rocks or thought ahead for all that. But you just don't want water going under things.
    Your animals have such cool housing its awesome.

    An idea, get some hard brushes for the goats and put them on like the legs of their home so they can scratch any itches they got
    Also...maybe plant some sort of fruit tree next to the turtle gutters? The water and waste would provide good nutrition for it.

    We're happy you took our suggestion of adding the smaller mesh to the enclosure! The rats definitely will not get through those screens! Now, just make sure the door seals very tightly, because the rodents will attempt to get through any gap! ( once again, from first-hand knowledge ) 🐀 🐁 😀

    • @MyBackyardScience
      @MyBackyardScience 11 месяцев назад +2

      @kane8039 I didn't notice that. Yes, they'll get in anywhere with a small space. They will climb the screen and look for any place they can get in, so it needs to be completely sealed. They'll even chew through the wood if there us something they like. I once had one chew through a wooden garage door to get to the bird seeds we were storing.

    This makes me so happy - I love goats (like really, really lpve them) and I see way too many people assume they're sheep and not give them enpugh shelter, mental stimulation, and HEIGHT in their lives, because it makes them so much more happy and secure. And when I had a goat Ildespite my best efforts and DIY I never achieved a truly dry shed or a good vertical space for them (because my goat was MASSIVE so a random little table wouldn't do) because I was a poor kid. So seeing these goaties have such a great house made my day ❤!

    So the gravel pit for the turtle enclosure....you need to dig down deep and then fill it with gravel. That's a good bit of water and if the yard is wet from rains it will back up and stink. Also see French drains.
    The Baaaaha House is AMAZEBALLS. Ive owned goats and they will 1 fall from heights. Their favorite game is king of the hill. So I'd put some sturdy wire over the opening. Hog panels at Tractor supply would work well Also....2 they WILL poop and pee where they sleep and play. Find a way to seal the flooring and about 6" up the walls. I was thinking like bedliner coating for trucks . Add some straw or hay and they'll have a sa-weet loft. They are some lucky goatlies.
    You're doing amazing. I wish I had just a smidge of your energy. :)

    Since you are going to have tortoises you could plant several Hibiscus plants, something they really like to eat and grow as great here in florida.
