To fully appreciate just how badly they fucked everything in this game up, you have to know what the players, and football in general, is actually meant to look like in real life
The graphics truly aren't bad though, they're very good actually, it's just that the animation is so stiff and soulless and the lighting undersells the look, kind of. You can have the most detailed models, the highest quality 8k textures and an incredibly realistic lighting engine and fuck it all up if you set your light sources wrong. It looks flat and so damn basic with how they've set up their light sources. It's just a single light coming from above with no ambient occlusion, and that's very poor when it comes to videogames (at least without raytracing enabled cause then you get accurate bounced lighting off the ground which softens the shadows at least). Also the lips are weird. It just looks boring as hell, at least something like Fifa makes use of tricks to make itself look good. Edit: Upon closer inspection you can see that the problem's actually the same basic light source lighting up everything from multiple angles. They tried to emulate accurate stadium lighting with all those lights hitting it from different angles but somehow didn't notice that that eliminates any significance the shadows could have when it comes to the forms of models. Developers shouldn't be trying to emulate real life cause that's how you get boring, flat visuals like this. It's just slightly whitewashed, lit from every angle scenes.
Nah that's not the problem. The gameplay is all fine. The sole reason why it's so hated is because they released it with zero game modes. It's useless even for free. All you can do is play friendly matches. If it literally just had Master League & MyClub, the game would have millions of players right now guaranteed

Fifa 22 somehow managed to get gameplay almost on par with pes 21, i quite like it now but still pes always felt like more realistic football simulator. But to be honest everything except gameplay was pretty shit since pes 13. Really bad multiplayer mode, single player mode and things like that

Some context for those who don't know. PES used to be the best game until like 2007 I want to say when FIFA started stepping up a bit. Then FIFA dominated for years, I have played both and FIFA had the better licensing, game modes, wider audience. But for me gameplay is just more fun with PES in the last few games, it's just more enjoyable compared to the static, broken gameplay of FIFA. Alas they couldn't keep up and had to change their vision to this and it just completely failed. Very sad to see, but glad Charlie seemed to somewhat enjoy haha.

Some context for those who don't know.
PES used to be the best game until like 2007 I want to say when FIFA started stepping up a bit.
Then FIFA dominated for years, I have played both and FIFA had the better licensing, game modes, wider audience.
But for me gameplay is just more fun with PES in the last few games, it's just more enjoyable compared to the static, broken gameplay of FIFA.
Alas they couldn't keep up and had to change their vision to this and it just completely failed.
Very sad to see, but glad Charlie seemed to somewhat enjoy haha.
No man, fifa was dogshit, in 2007 u had winning eleven also pes8, 9 and 10 were still ahead of Fifa. Fifa stepped up afterwards.
@@latinEU I think it was FIFA 09 or FIFA 10 maybe that pulled them ahead which would've been like 2008/09. But like I said I've played the recent PES games and have enjoyed them way more than FIFA, it's not a complete game, but does a better job of making a game that is enjoyable.

pes gameplay has always been better. fifa just has better presentation and some fun modes which get boring after sometime because the game is broken

it doesnt matter.. the only videos that got a truly bad ratio were mainstream videos that were just cringey or unliked for an unknown apparent reason. other dislike ratios were unsubstantial imo
@@austinricky Not really, the dislike ratio helps people filter out shitty content. Imagine you're searching RUclips for the answer to a specific computer problem and all you come across are crappy 15 mins videos that in the end don't even solve any problem at all. If I open one of these videos and see an avalanche of dislikes I'm very likely not going to waste my time on it. This won't work if I can't see the dislikes.
