I'm wondering why he didn't just shadow sneak the slowbro or the incoming sableye? the range sableye was at it would've killed and if he predicted skarm steel doesnt resist ghost, it wouldn't do a lot but it'd be just the better move
All the battles ive seen today are almost the game... people using the same movesets... same few go to pokemon and all with the same abilities, natures and items... I think with enough effort someone could just counter everyones team out there with the right pokemon and skill.
This is why I like to play in the NU tier, there are more Pokemon so it is more predictable. True, there are some popular NU Pokemon that you will see, but the matches usually have different Pokemon every battle.
Are you still taking Pokemon requests? If you are, then you need to use a Powerful Staraptor - which evolves from either Kirlia or Pidove, of course. Thumbs up if you know the reference, so shofu can see it! #powerfulstaraptor
I've won competitive tournaments in my home town using just a Sableye. It's sadly underestimated. I had it slated in HP and Defenses, had the moves recover, hone claws, shadow claw and night slash in Gen 5, and literally swept everything. I think sometimes that it wouldn't be fair to give it an evolution because of it's low stats, but I'd still love to see an official evolution.
Sableye is so freakin' annoying, and I LOVE it for that. One of the first pokémon I bred for competition in X&Y. Best anti-lead and best anti-physical sweepers of all time. Love it forevaH
High-Ladder or Event Competitive battling functions largely on a game-play principle known as "momentum". Similar to Chess, one way to see potential for victory in pokemon is to note how many "free" or "low cost" turns you can get in a battle. Rotom has a very diverse movepool and generates momentum like a beast. He can switch in easily due to his great typing, and the opponent needs to predict the move set he's running or risk losing more momentum. He can hit relatively hard with a Hydro Pump, he can force a switch and get a free scout with Volt Switch, he can learn Trick which he can use to seriously cripple sweepers, or nullify walls (either by Tricking Flame Orbs or Choice respectively). He's relatively tanky, providing him lots of opportunity to switch in to defend keystone sweepers on your team. His versatility creates massive momentum for your team and if you haven't built to respond, he's gonna allow your opponent to get free/low-cost switches constantly. Gameplay at high levels is about getting dangerous pokemon in safely, and netting them free turns to score important OHKOs or 2HKOs while scouting for counters. Rotom-W helps that a ton, hence his massive usage in OU. Hope this helps!
Aye shofu, for a suggestion for a Pokemon that no one uses that you could add to your team for a battle, I say Grandbull. It's overlooked but I think it's really powerful. If bred right it can learn Outrage, Play Rough, Close Combat and Double-Edge! I think it could be a potential monster.
No need to make excuses for paralysis hax, Shofu. You used it, it's a side effect of being paralyzed, sucks to be them. But that's the idea. It's slightly different for low accuracy moves since they chose to use them, but confusion and paralysis (and to an extent, stat drop secondaries) don't need counter-arguments. People should be more accepting of hax in the first place. If every secondary effect always occured, it would start to be too ridiculous. And if there were none, then Pokemon would be much more tier heavy and boring than it is now.
Ah, nicely done... This battle is the perfect showcase for why Sableye is one of my all-time favorite Pokemon! :D Whether competitive or not, he's just fun! But with the right prediction, he can just (as you would put it, shofu) continue crushing souls with those moves! Thanks for the battle, sir. On a related note: I know you said you run max HP and Def on your Sableye. What Nature do you run him on? I'm trying to build up a Sableye now, but I'm not sure what Nature would be most beneficial for him... I'm between Bold for the full-on Defensive set, or Calm for the SpDef boost, given that Will-O-Wisp takes care of most physical dangers.
shofu can you make me a decent team of pokemon not like you breed them for me but like the pokemon themselves cause I know how to breed them I just don't know which pokemon to do it with and make involve DIGERSBY THO
Shofu!! Please stop with that disgusting stall!! That is all. Great battle still, I just freaking hate stall and I'm so shocked that your last few battles have featured a lot of stall. But whatever, you're still wrecking face with all those hard body goons on your squad lol.
shaun yap ??? I'm gonna ignore the fact that I can hardly understand what you're trying to say, but i'm not hating on shofu. I just don't like stall. If you like stall, then that's good for you, but sitting there many turns as Pokemon slowly whittle each other's health down is not fun to me.
i don't understand how you hate stall when there are stuff like Baton Pass and other cheese tactics. Even so,Shofu uses a Slowbro and a Tyranitar, which are both semi-bulky, and 2 physical walls. This is not stalling.
xShockwav i get why you don't have a more famous youtube account than him, you don't win by full-on attacking. you win by using tactics and some include a bit of stalling although i wouldn't say he stalls that much
Are you actually asking why he's using Sableye? Lol. Because Sableye with Prankster is actually really good. He's a great asset to teams and one of my personal favorite Pokemon. Great battle by the way Shofu I loved it!
Great battle shofu. When I used to play UU on PO Slowbro was my man. He is by far my favorite water type. You can really frustrate somebody by using it. Slack Off with Regenerator, Leftovers. Slow Bro is hard to kill sometimes. Then using Thunder Wave to slow down the enemy while you take pot shots at him with whatever moves you give just makes you feel like you're dominating. This mans fucking mean! I mean he's no #DiggersbyThou nor does he have #ARMCANNONS but he does have the ability to be a great wall on a balanced team. #TailShells4Dayz
Most Aegislash are Brave... Yep, that's why mine isn't. Currently on a 36 win streak without losing more than 2 Pokémon too (total of 9 faints out of a possible 144). In the middle of the streak I though about stopping as I'm not really one for competitiveness, but it became fun again around battle 32.
This battle is a great example of why you should always be careful predicting a switch. Why he didn't just go for Shadow Sneak on the Slowbro with Aegislash I have no idea. Even if Skarmory comes in what does it have to hit Aegis hard?
Do the battles that Shofu is in differ from PSS Battles?. I want to get into competitive battling but I just don't know how to find a competitive match...
Hey Shofu if you're still looking for request pokemon maybe a leading Ambipom? I'm making one right now, Jolly- double hit, fakeout, counter/ 4th move tbd. Holding focus sash and has technician. Was one of my favorite set ups for him back in the day.
lvl 80-100 pokemon with the pick-up ability have a small chance of giving leftovers. zigzagoon/linoone should do the trick for you. also gives other nice items like rare candies, evolution stones, etc.
Hi. I used to play wifi battles but haven't gotten into it for years. So do we need to train Pokemon manually now (with EV, nature etc.)? What should I do if I wanna start doing some wifi competitive battles?
Hey there Shofu, what hardware do you use to record your 3ds battles and send them to the computer with that quality? Any special cables or software? Thanks
I don't know exactly why most people run Brave Aegislash. Adamant is better IMO, you are not supposed to underspeed slow threats, just the medium and fast ones.
I'm wondering why he didn't just shadow sneak the slowbro or the incoming sableye? the range sableye was at it would've killed and if he predicted skarm steel doesnt resist ghost, it wouldn't do a lot but it'd be just the better move
I'm glad Shofu doesn't do Pokemon theories like other RUclipsrs who try to make the anime/games something it isn't
gg. i wanted him to just spam draco :J
Joey! :]
8:25 next time shofu, get a rocky helmet for slowbro and make that scene a hilarious one lol
HackerHaunter wouldn’t matter. Rocky Helmet only works on physical contact.
I want that thumbnail.
Haha, that thumbnail. SLOWBRO ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL!
Ah, always gotta love a ME2 reference (at least that's what I assume you're referencing). You sir have earned my respect :)
All the battles ive seen today are almost the game... people using the same movesets... same few go to pokemon and all with the same abilities, natures and items... I think with enough effort someone could just counter everyones team out there with the right pokemon and skill.
Yeah, you do that.
This is the how the vast majority of competitive video games are. It's not easy to balance games.
This is why I like to play in the NU tier, there are more Pokemon so it is more predictable. True, there are some popular NU Pokemon that you will see, but the matches usually have different Pokemon every battle.

You finished your win with a Sableye, that is awesome. Sableye is one of my favorite Pokemon. Never underestimate a Sableye

Someone's gonna need to explain to me....why...WHY does everyone use Wash Rotom so much....
Rot-W counters allot of team comps. its a check for Tyranitar and Rainy day teams. Also his move pool is big, and his Def/Sp.Def are both high.
High-Ladder or Event Competitive battling functions largely on a game-play principle known as "momentum". Similar to Chess, one way to see potential for victory in pokemon is to note how many "free" or "low cost" turns you can get in a battle. To WASH away the competition XD
Wash Rotom only has one weakness (Grass) because of Levitate.
nice pun

(it can learn crunch, ice fang, thunder fang, and fir fang too) it's movepool is really diverse
RaichuReturns Glad to see another raichu channel on here lol
ChunkyPuffsRaichu Definitely haha.
Oh and Grandbull is Fairy this Generation

Its amazing how you use other pokemons instead of the standard Rotom-W , Aegislash gengar stuff

Dude, fuck Sableye. So annoying. It's great though.
sableye is annoying as fuck...i hate that thing, but it is a great poke, I can't deny that.
Espeon w/ 0 attack IV = fun 1-2hko w/o taking much.
bmin44 Haha, I'll give you that one. xD I've just always liked Sableye, so I was happy he got an amazing Ability and the materials to use it well. ^^"
shofu can you make me a decent team of pokemon not like you breed them for me but like the pokemon themselves cause I know how to breed them I just don't know which pokemon to do it with and make involve DIGERSBY THO

Great battle still, I just freaking hate stall and I'm so shocked that your last few battles have featured a lot of stall. But whatever, you're still wrecking face with all those hard body goons on your squad lol.
Ok good for hating something. Gratx bro.
shaun yap ??? I'm gonna ignore the fact that I can hardly understand what you're trying to say, but i'm not hating on shofu. I just don't like stall. If you like stall, then that's good for you, but sitting there many turns as Pokemon slowly whittle each other's health down is not fun to me.

Relax guys jealousy wins
solo vine porque PITO
damn that sableye play was dope
Props for Shofu using different pokemon. Can you use a Froslass soon?
shofu bro you are like the master of wi-fi battles i like the somewhat hints you offer so i really just wanted to say you are pretty awesome.
Are you actually asking why he's using Sableye? Lol. Because Sableye with Prankster is actually really good. He's a great asset to teams and one of my personal favorite Pokemon. Great battle by the way Shofu I loved it!
Nice video Shofu! We want Diggersby!
I learn so much from your videos! Love 'em! Keep it up!
YO Shofu, you should start a series where the comments pick the Pokemon you use next video!!!
My man shofu has got to put that kings rock on slowbro and get a slowking...let him know guys.
That's my favorite battle music in x and y
Loved the old music!
I applaud you shofu good sir...that bulky ass Sableye is a demonic tank
I love cloyster XD especially with skill link, shell smash, razor shell, rock blast, icicle spear and kings rock, i always get a flinch in XD
Great battle shofu. When I used to play UU on PO Slowbro was my man. He is by far my favorite water type. You can really frustrate somebody by using it. Slack Off with Regenerator, Leftovers. Was "Nobody cares, nobody's scared" a reference to Scars on Broadway?
This battle is a great example of why you should always be careful predicting a switch. Why he didn't just go for Shadow Sneak on the Slowbro with Aegislash I have no idea. Even if Skarmory comes in what does it have to hit Aegis hard?
Do the battles that Shofu is in differ from PSS Battles?. I want to get into competitive battling but I just don't know how to find a competitive match...
I kinda want to see you rockin a mega gyarados, that mold breaker eq being a personal fu to any and ALL rotoms that dare to switch in.
That last play was sick
I prefer Slowking over Slowbro, but that's just tactical cause I mostly do double battles. (Also I love how he looks)
Huh. Y'know, I didn't notice until just now, but Foul Play's animation is the same as Aqua Jet's, but more evil looking.
I've watched quite a few of these vids and there are a ton of rotom being used in that one form.
aye my boy shofu mopping these kids up with that Sableye!
bless your soul keep these videos coming!
Great game man, care to share your slowbro and cloyster ev spread?
I was laughing throughout the video, cuz his name is dick in spanish xD
Shofu! thanks for using a sableye! i was hoping you'd read my suggestion haha
Maybe he predicted you to switch out your slowbro, cause he expected it to be a regenerate slowbro?
Hey Shofu if you're still looking for request pokemon maybe a leading Ambipom? I'm making one right now, Jolly- double hit, fakeout, counter/ 4th move tbd. Holding focus sash and has technician. Was one of my favorite set ups for him back in the day.
It looked difficult at the start because you didnt have diggersby tho? or even Deerling tho?
I haven't been subbed to you for long so I don't know if you covered this already but what's a good level to stop at for wifi battles
Don't you mean "You know the Excadrill"
That was a good battle. great moveset on the sableye
How do you get 3 leftovers in your game?
lvl 80-100 pokemon with the pick-up ability have a small chance of giving leftovers. zigzagoon/linoone should do the trick for you. also gives other nice items like rare candies, evolution stones, etc.
he could just used the cloning glitch
Trade a pokemon to your game while it is holding a leftovers
or use a level 100 pickup pokemon to pickup leftovers at a VERY low chance
formerflash1901 1% chance to be exact, so it's pretty damn low. you can use 6 pickup pokemon at the same time to get 6 tries at once though
Amazing battle shofu!!!! Fantastic!
Great video man! Keep it up. DO A BATTLE WITH BLAMETRUTH ON SHOWDOWN.
i noticed that almost all of your pokemon had leftover equipped
Shoffuuu use Galvantula in a match, The Compound eyes + Thunder too stronk
That intro's bass is fucking orgasmic
Hi. I used to play wifi battles but haven't gotten into it for years. So do we need to train Pokemon manually now (with EV, nature etc.)? What should I do if I wanna start doing some wifi competitive battles?
Shofu: so yeah I switched out exadrill for a garchomp and.... Me: DIGGERSBY THOUGH
Damn
Cloyster has some good abilities skill link and overcoat
shofu when you coming out with body bag of X and Y
Lol the thumbnail is freakin scary XD
Sableye looks like a beast...gotta get myself one
Demon Slowbro on the preview pic...
Hey there Shofu, what hardware do you use to record your 3ds battles and send them to the computer with that quality? Any special cables or software? Thanks
Can you try using frosslas? It can spikes and can't be rapid spinned
Always have a Pokemon with energy ball on your team for rotoms
Where is DIGGERSBY THO?
Shofu, what do you use to record your videos? Also, if you do answer, can you provide a source?
Imma challenge you soon shofu, get ready brotha!
Sableye is a perfect counter for Aegislash. PER. FECT.
shofu, didn't your sableye have prankster? that's why it outsped the aegislash.
since the pokemon bank's up you should try using staraptor its an excellent scouter/physical sweeper
cloyster/kings rock/skill link is tooo good. 49% chance to flinch with icicle spear or rock blast. He's probs my fav on my team aside from the khan =D
Looks like Sableye is way better this gen. That's great -- he's definitely one of my favorites.
Nice to see someone using a Sableye. All I see lately are pseudos
I don't know exactly why most people run Brave Aegislash. Adamant is better IMO, you are not supposed to underspeed slow threats, just the medium and fast ones.
It's smarter for Gyarados to run taunt. This vid illustrates why.
lmao that trey songz intro though
Nice vid shofu
is it me or does slowbro look like homer simpson
I see what you mean lol
who else clicked on this video because of the thumbnail?
you should really do other battle types besides single, it would keep things more interesting
HOW DID YOU SWITCH OUT FROM A MEGA GENGAR!??!?!?!?!
Ghost types aren't affected by Shadow Tag.
Slowbro's bulky as F$*&.
But DIGGERSBY THO?!
Yes exactly why I run adamant aegislash instead of brave. Then again I'm not sure what nature to run if I'm going for mixed sets.
shofu + luck = unbeatable
just put together random pokes like me i gotta swalot, vaporeon, aggron, snorlax, electrivire, and garchomp.
N008, Paralyze makes you go last always from my experience.
I have a Shell Smash Cloyster that has King Rock because I could not find the item that makes it so the multi hit moves hit more.
Wow your team is such a troll, I mean op pokes or what xD
No Diggersby tho,lol we sort of have the same team, except instead of cloyster, I'm running with an Alakazam
How come he could switch out his Sableye at 4:24? Doesn't mega gengar have shadow tag? What am I missing?
Shofu, do you know why people use brave aegislash instead of adamant?
Still waiting for that body bag!
Wow Slowbro is all thinking I got this guys let me eat these attacks up!!!
That was tight intact all your battles are cool tho
Why are you using multiple leftovers? Great item
I ask because of Smogon Rules
Smogon doesn't ban multiples of items, just species.
Dez Xanatos Though clearly they don't follow smogon rules too much because apparently at some point they banned Aegislash.
Dez Xanatos Well this was a year ago and he wasn't banned at the time
Immature Filmers Actually this was in October and I think from the articles on smogon Aegislash was banned in August.
Dez Xanatos Now is that August of 2014 or August of 2013?
