    This is so inspiring. I got dismissed from training two years ago 3 days before graduation. It’s extremely hard and stressful. But now Im going back to training this week. I feel completely different from two years ago and I feel more ready. Sometimes you have to take a step back and try again at a better time. If you feel it’s for you, don’t give up girl. Keep trying and the next rime around you’ll ACE training.

    I am really glad I watched your video. I am in a holding poll waiting for the training to start until the end of the year, and this video was really helpful as it showed how much effort needs to be put before the training and getting into the right mindset.
    Anyway I wish you the best and with that attitude you are going to end up in the air sooner then you expected. Would love to see a new update :)

    I hope you interview again and try to become an inflight.
    As a former trainer, I have to say that hesitating is a problem - FAs need to have immediate response to challenging situations. Your reactions should be immediate and based on muscle memory. Hesitating for even half of a second could cost lives in an incident or accident.
    I also share this (I’m sure you’ve heard it before) because it’s important - if you feel lonely in training, I’d spend some
    Time thinking about if being an FA is for you. Working as a FA is extremely lonely - especially the first few years. You will spend endless nights alone in a hotel on holidays. You will have to be away from your family while they are going through things. It can be a fun job but the impact on your life is HARD. Training is hard but in many ways it’s the easiest part of being a FA - you are surrounded by friends/coworkers all the time. Think carefully about what you can and cannot handle.
    Best of luck!

      SayYesToAwesome I definitely did interview again, and don’t plan on stopping until I get this job! It’s really reassuring to hear the side from a former trainer as I never got that. But I never understood because they told me I could take my time and I wasn’t being rushed so to think thoroughly. It literally probably happened within .4 seconds. I didn’t make it a note to point out I did anything wrong, because I felt I didn’t but they did, unfortunately. It was a learning experience though! It wasn’t bad being away from home and I wasn’t super lonely. As I’m super independent and did months on end research about this job and what others go through before I even decided to apply..It was my roommate that completely messed up the entire experience for me as arrogant as she was and as laid back as I am. I was in a living hell hole for 6 weeks. As anyone could imagine, leaving home for the first time and living with a complete stranger is extremely difficult. Especially if you don’t know them and are stuck with them it makes it difficult. I couldn’t even stay in my room so I felt like I was pushed completely out of my comfort zone when I knew what would work best for me studying and sleeping and whatnot.. As to say for the experience of the people I met and formed study groups with were some of the best parts of training because I met so many beautiful and amazing people and formed so many amazing friendships. As I got off the plane the first trip we worked, everyone was saying how AWESOME I did. To when I left, everyone was heartbroken but sent me heartfelt messages I’ll forever cherish. And I still stay in contact with many from training. It was definitely a new experience I’ve never had before but it taught me a lot and I know this is what I want to do for my career. The passion burns more than ever every single day, which is how I know this is what is for me! Thanks for reaching out! Your comment was valuable to me and I very much appreciate it! I hope you and your loved ones are staying safe and healthy during this time!♥️

    I was dismissed because my trainer was literally in my face, and I was intimidated by this. I closed the door properly and my mind blanked and I was dismissed. It was a brutal. I have since learned this trainer is no longer a trainer and was reprimanded for her over the top safety briefings. The Best that can happen for her is to be demoted to Flight Attendant and have to work until her mandatory retirement. I was dismissed on the final day of training. Let this experience sharpen your resolve to become a Flight Attendant. Its all about the safety of others....its never about yourself...except knowing your stuff and proving it daily on the job and in re current training. Keep strong and move forward. One final thought. Its the airlines loss not having you, and every trainer is accountable for their behaviour. Its on them..

That was reasonable because you really have to study! ThaLexinator That’s great news! Which airlines are they? I actually also applied for a passport book and card and being a flight attendant is something I’ve considered. But even if I don’t become one, I’ve looked at visiting Canada or Mexico, at least to start with. I’m glad I applied now for one where there are way less people doing so. I imagine once all this is over people will be flocking to the post office, city hall, passport agency, etc to apply for a passport and applicants still will have to wait a while even with an appointment, which is also what happens at the DMV too.

      Every airline just has their own way of teaching things. It was pretty intense plus we had 98 people in our class so it was huge at the beginning. They just want to make sure everything’s done 110% correct. Nothing wrong with that! However, I probably won’t be going back with the company-but wish them the best of course! I’m heading to training Monday with a different airline, smaller but hopefully I’ll get up in the sky soon!

  • @daveholt2157
    @daveholt2157 2 года назад +6

    I was a F/A for many years, training is no joke. You not only have to study, and study more, you have to nail your test and finals. Each airline is different, they are not only watching your grades, but your interactions as well. They are watching the way you handle new situations, how you handle the stress, how fast you can change or understand how to be accommodating. She gives you a a small window into what to expect. My advice is be prepared to be somewhere, you know no one, deal with your roommates get along it is never a perfect situation and you will not like everyone you are around period!!!! (You control this) when you pass and get online you again will fly with others you may not care for, its like any other job. If you are missing home, miss it for your 7 weeks, do not allow other factors to feed your stress from the outside, this is important. (Everyone feels alone during training, you feel venerable, and stressed.) it is part of the process. It's okay, stay calm. I wish you all the best in your endeavors...It is worth it, stick it out hold your head up and STUDY....Good luck and hopefully you will be out there seeing the country and world via a jumpseat.

    You probably realized by now that they didn't really send you home because you hesitated. They sent you home because you probably committed a number of small errors that gave the evaluators a certain impression over a period of time. Evaluators usually say that one has failed because of a small reason simply to let one down easily.

    My grand daughter went through Skywest training earlier this year. Think they were allowed something like 3 gigs during training, failed tests and dress and being late for the bus and so forth. Her last day in training she got gigged for wearing a split skirt. The girl next to her had on long ear rings and got dismissed and sent home…. Brutal and tragic.

    • @omegacon4

      How is it brutal and tragic? How difficult is it for young adults to follow simple rules?

    • @thalexinator5050
      @thalexinator5050  2 года назад +1

      Brutal and tragic? It’s not. It’s just a very strict process which not all people can follow. Sometimes If you’re not mentally & emotionally stable, that can hinders ones thought process throughout the entire training process which then might be tragic to one who really would love to do this as a job. Or even getting sent home from one small thing. Airlines do not mess around but sometimes they aren’t always clear on expectations, point blank period.
      It’s not hard to follow rules. But you always either have some who don’t, or who think they can get away with things and that’s where the problem is.

Also, there could be many times when you are on a layover by yourself, on holidays, or other days, when you are an extra on a trip and everyone else is on a different ID or they are home. There is stress in the job, you are away from home with strangers for days. Lose the word "like". . . . they don't go for that. I flew for 30 years. If someone’s happy with doing something, they are going to do it-end of story. This was and still is my happiest journey. The aviation industry is AMAZING. Sure there are flaws in the systems of aviation-no matter which airline you chose. But there are a lot of flaws in everything in this world and the people you come in contact with. Just like food industry and retail industry. There is no such thing is perfect. Airlines have their reasons for kicking people off flights, and majority of it is NOT minor infractions. As part of crew, eveyone does their absolute best to make sure all the lives of the passengers whom are flying with them that day are SAFE. If there is any little inconvenience or red flag, it is in our or their hands to handle it. They don’t take things lightly, because that could be MANY people’s lives at sake. Sorry you feel this way; but there are 7 billion people in the world besides you, and we all have places to be at times... it can’t always be a perfect world for just one person traveling. However, I won’t ever give up. I know when airlines are hiring and I have my IN already with multiple airlines. It’s not up to you wether it’s time to give up or what I want to be part of. I won’t give up on my dreams, nor should anyone else.

That's what happens when you give idiots a list of rules and power, but they are too stupid to use common sense.
