Install the yellow wire onto the winch motor first before installing onto machine. If this isn't done, the nut on the motor's yellow post hits the mounting bracket and the nut cannot be removed. Ask me how I know this. Anyways, I got around this by cutting the end of the connector off with a Dremel. The connector was then in a "C" shape so I could push the connector onto the motor's yellow post and tighten down. This winch is installed and working now. Thanks for the helpful video. 2020 Can-Am Maverick Sport Max.
Totally off topic for this video, but did you happen to have the problem with the drive shaft rattle in this machine? If so, did you fix yourself or take to dealer?
@@azsxsproject according to all my research on the issue, they're suppose to tap it and place a screw with loctite in there. I've heard others have tapped a grease zerk there as well. If you figure it out and get it fixed, please share a video on the subject. Thanks!
Thanks for watching. I wired to post under the dash. There’s a battery 12v, negative, and accessories 12v. I used all three in my application. No issue so far.
Thanks bro I think ima do it like you no problem at all with your battery or becoming hot? My cables are to short to connect directly to battery I could only do it to the bus bar
That would be cool. I have only seen a few and it seems a bit harder with 4 seats. Not sure I trust my welding quality with my families life. I’m kinda holding out for a sick cage I designed.
For mounting the winch? I don’t think so as I didn’t have to buy one for this install. I did need some longer hardware to bolt through the lower front section you take off to install the winch.
Some self-proclaimed experts on facebook are stating that two batteries must be used in order to prevent the stator from being burnt out as this brand of winch draws more current than other brands. Also mentioned is that a winch this heavy duty will bend the UTV frame when getting your UTV unstuck. I want to install this exact winch on our 2020 Maverick Sport but I don't have any winch experience. However, life experience makes me believe none of these statements are true. Otherwise this brand of winch would have more bad reviews and videos of people having problems.
Great questions. I don’t pretend to be an expert. What I do know is where the winch is located and bolt is pretty strong. It would take a lot to bend I think. These machines aren’t invincible though. One thing about this winch I didn’t know that it describes in the instructions is you don’t reach the full 5000lb force until the entire rope is undone. This is when the full amp will come into play. This won’t be the case always but some times. If your pulling from sticky mud I think there could be issues with bending something. If you have all your lights and led light bars on and are winching I could see you maybe blowing a fuse.
Thanks for the question. I would go with this one from amazon. Ranger UTV Side by Side Aluminum Hawse Fairlead for 4000-5500 LBs UTV Winch 6" (152.4MM) Mount by Ultranger Glossy (Black) www.amazon.com/dp/B07222VFVB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_HJPbFbAP4VAMA

I did have the problem. Took it to dealer. They greased it and put a pin it. After 100 miles it came back. Not sure what I’ll do next on it.

Great video, did you wire the power to the battery directly or to the accessory post?

U should make a video chopping the back of the cage

Do I need to buy a winch plate

Are you referring to the housing that the winch goes in or the front end assembly bumper bars?
