    You should make a book, seriously. You have the most detailed, informative videos out there. The way you break everything down into steps that make total sense is enlightening.

    Your puppy has grown so fast. What a star! 🌟⭐🌠 The eye contact is phenomenal. My 20 month Newfoundland's eye contact is ONLY when she approaches lakes rivers and the Seine. She has to get my ok before she does a leap. Eye contact during walks is boring for her but that's SECURITY she has to learn. Recalls are EXCELLENT in any situation. POSITIVE TRAINING has helped me so much to EDUCATE my Newfie. This is my third as the previous 2 had to be put to sleep in June 2018 at the age of 15 years, after a STROKE. Thanks for sharing and caring 🐾🐾🐾🐶🐶🌹🌹

    Watson is such a good boy. I still give you credit for the communication I have with my girl, Minerva. I found you when she got dropped at my door over 8 years ago. I haven’t been a perfect trainer, but we have a good bond.
    I hope you’re still around making videos when I get my next pup.

    My dog lived with my mom for a while and picked up bad habits. I have to train him all over again only this time he's 52 pounds and not 5 pounds 🤣🤣. Your videos have helped me from the beginning. He'll be 4 years old tomorrow! Thanks for being with us on our journey together!

    It's great to see you uploading more again.🐶 I have a 3yr G.Shepherd who can't or won't have eye contact with me the minute I put he's leash on him. I had previously owned 3 German Shepherds who listen to me and I trained myself the best I could. I got this sweet boy at the age of 3 months I'm almost embarrassed to say, he is a mess. 😏 He is missing out on life because of his behavior. 💔 I don't know what to do. .. YES I HIRE A TRAINER.. obviously it didn't work.😝

      My 3 month old border collie puppy was free fed before I got her and now she's not very interested in food and treat, so all the training technique based on treat is not working very well. She's smaller in size compare to other border collie puppy so I don't wanna cut the food quantity. I feed her 3 times a day, she's very energetic and has pretty good toy / prey drive.

      I know it's not really any of my business, but out of curiosity, if your dog already has a good toy drive, why would you want to build food drive as well?

    • @stanwong627
      @stanwong627 5 лет назад

      @@dragonsinneedofcoffee104 Do you mean I can just use a toy instead of treat to do the exact same training with my dog? Maybe it is a good idea to try to train with toys.

    • @dragonsinneedofcoffee104
      @dragonsinneedofcoffee104 5 лет назад

      @Stan Wong yeah, that was my thought process! Though I'm not somebody with experience using this method, I know of many people who have been successful with using toy drive as a reward. It would probably also work towards physical stimulation as well!

    I wish you'd make a video of a dog with much more challenging and sudden walk distractions- a rabbit or squirrel suddenly runs by, another dog or a child runs up to him. I would love to see you use a dog who struggles with impulse control- a bigger training challenge.

    • @viktorholmgren8978

      You already know it will not work then.

    • @MrsSinkip
      @MrsSinkip Год назад

      You just build up to harder distractions. I usually start with food or toys (whichever is easier for the dog), then move on to the harder one, then add friends making distractions while I work with them, then add really difficult things like high pitch screaming (you can start with yourself making the noise at first if someone else doing it is too hard), friends running around, other dogs (stationary), other dogs running around / playing. Some dogs need it broken down more than others.

  • @christopheclugston

    Ok, but here is the fault in this paradigm: facing the Prey Drive. You will not positive reinforce your way out of that. This is where like it or not Koehler was rock solid. It doesn't mean you are wrong on other things it means you need to be complete in your Operant Behaviroism. BOOM

    • @christopheclugston
      @christopheclugston 5 лет назад +1

      @@baddriversofcolga your claims mean nothing--video of your dog responding to drop on recall when prey drive is engaged are the only proof. You won't get that with the Dunbar approach

    I don't really like dogs that are so "addicted" to their owner. It seems they're like a Tamagochi, that lives only for his owner.

    • @KaiSub
      @KaiSub 5 лет назад +3

      That's kind of what dogs were bred to be like.
      They live to work with their owner, that's their entire purpose.
      Sure they've become more pets than working animals as of late but that drive to please is still there in a lot of breeds.
