    The man is a legend. His knowledge is invaluable. The money and the things those few guys did in the late 50's 60's and 70's never will be understood, did, or copied. The 80's and 90's was what is considered the post dope era. After the big game. It's crazy to see so many think the dope game is still thriving with all the prison time that's accociated with the game. The shit is just crazy.

    Pee Wee Kirkland is the Original Life Changing Gangster, but Melvin got alot of props. you get that when you praise the Jews, Pee Wee learn the New York Streets, Melvin was taught crime from a crime Boss as he calls him the Jewish boss of bosses of B more famous Block on Baltimore street. When you taught crime from a master criminal you should be 1 of the biggest Crime mind of your times because even though your a boss you work 4 the Boss of Bosses. RIP Little Melvin

      Oh yeah and I have never watched the HBO film series The Wire. I would see the Shit when I step out of the door. This Man tells youngster that they should not want to be an American Gangster and he is telling them that to save them from all the Hell that comes with the type of living, hope his words don't get twisted, because most of the street players are not as intelligent or as street wise as he was or Pee Wee is.

      +Awesome One you are one of the most interesting and intelligent people to leave a comment on here. you are absolutely right in everything you are saying. but it's sad that a real role model who saw both sides of the game is gone forever. think about how many are left in this world who were multi millionaires in the game and a huge success, then fell almost to the ground and lived to tell about the adventure? plus telling young people THERE'S NO FUTURE IN SLINGING DRUGS. You might be a millionaire today and end up doing LWOP TIME TOMORROW. Rip Lil Melvin at least you tried to help the black race.

      Awesome One but dam player I sometimes wonder how many people did Lil Melvin have killed? I come from the hood in Oakland and I know for a fact that if your name and rep is RINGING LIKE DOOR BELLS you had to do a lot to earn it. Nobody in the hood gives out crazy rep passes unless you got multi murders on yours. I know Melvin had to have personally killed a lot of people who thought they were down but got checked hard by Melvin. Especially being known to be having millions and millions of dollars flowing through your hands and nobody tries to rob you or set you up. Melvin to keep the fools off him must have had a rep that says "I CROKE MOTHERFUCKERS FOR MY RECREATION." He really must have had a real scary rep. Being as little as he was and demanding his respect AND FEAR. I am just curious to know about how many people Melvin killed personally? Nobody in the hood that has a rep like Melvin didn't personally kill a few fools just to let everyone else know "I AIN'T THE ONE, PERIOD." Nobody car jacked him or robbed him of those diamonds he wears. There has to be a real reason that even stick up and kidnappers didn't fuck with Melvin. DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM Melvin must have had a rep like Doc Holliday. I am ready to die over this, are you? I really would love to hear that answer!!!!!!😨😨😨😨😨😨😨😨😨😨😨😨😨😨😨😨😨😨😨😨😨😨😨😨😨😨😨😨😨😨😨😨😨

    • @oranpayne1007
      @oranpayne1007 8 лет назад

      Awesome One also I ain't leaving out Pee Wee Kirkland, Leroy Nicky Barnes, Guy Fisher and the rest of the new york crews. Nobody can ever tell me or convince me that these gangsters didn't kill a lot of people personally. Their rep is way too down. Pee Wee might not admit it but fucking please people who have a rep like that will kill you over pride just to make a point. DON'T EVER FUCK WITH ME. None of these people are innocent of murder. But only they, the people they killed, and GOD KNOWS FOR SURE.

    Not for nothing but before this man died he actually starred in a Doritos commercial, that may not seem like much but it speaks to the connections he held so him being accepted by every crime family as a black man says a ton and the fact that I come from the same place as him means something to me.

    I do not know if this book is what I'm hoping it to be but if it's not someone should who understand case law should write a laymen's book about laws which disproportionately effect minorities i.e. drugs & other like crimes. We already have a two tiered justice system for the haves & the have nots. And, while this might not be the ideal solution it still can provide an avenue for the down trodden to mount a proper defense rather than relying on a public pretender.

      @@victorcalabrese9381 - I'm blaming Melvin because he distributed drugs to his own people, a selfish act that Baltimore Communities never recovered from. He's responsible for modernized substance slavery which has devastated our communities for generations after his existence. The act even devastated Melvin's life and his family friends associates enemies as well as innocent kids.
      Melvin gave 30 years of imprisonment of his life and its clear what happens to most households in Baltimore without a father. Its no excuse for his behavior and its no way he could be oblivious to the turmoil he caused. Melvin existence on this earth has proven to be more negative than positive to his own people and communities. I can think of many other ways as Melvin could, that he could have helped and mentored Baltimore and the world. I have no doubt he could have been Baltimore's MLK or Malcolm X.
      A mentor, who like myself and many other youths whom grew up in Baltimore's rough neighborhoods could have learn from and changed or saved our lives.

This is where our people are weak. We really believe the “game” must be sold, and not told. In the mean time, our children are still in the hole.
