  • Don't Be A Victim. Protect Your Timepiece From Watch Thieves.
    It's becoming a too common occurrence, and we must be vigilant.
    In the Video, you'll see me handling a fake Rolex. I use this watch solely to raise awareness about counterfeit watches in an upcoming video. I want to make it clear that on this channel, I neither endorse nor recommend purchasing fake watches.

    Nothing says "rob me" like Rolex

      It's very likely that 8 out of 10 Rolex you see on people are just fakes.
      So gold watches and jewelry in general are even more an invitation to get robbed

    There are many countries where it is safe to wear. I was in Singapore last month and wore my YG Skydweller openly in public. No worries there, if you look for it you can spot just about any Rolex model in 15 minutes in any crowd. During travel I just wear my Tudor blackbay GMT and keep my watchroll in my backpack.

    Sad , this .
    Where Devils and Demons roam the streets , nothing
    and no one is safe .

    About 30 years ago my friends car was robbed of the expensive sound system he put in it and always played loud. I learned then to keep the nice sound system I letter fitted in my car quiet within a mile or so of anywhere I was going to park.
    I went on holiday to an Italian city last year, I took a Citizen Chronograph and a Lorus Dive watch looking thing for the beach. I had no problems.
    It's ok to have nice things but don't show them to every stranger around you. None of us would walk down the street waving £10k in used bank notes around Infront of strangers, we all hear stories of people being robbed for £200 phones but many of us think nothing of walking around in a strange city with a £5000 watch on display. We should be conscious of these things, good call reminding us 👍

    People should be allowed to defend themselves. Unfortunately, in many of these countries, the government doesn’t recognize your right to self-defense, and won’t allow you to carry a firearm.

      You're absolutely right. But it's also the leniency in the sentences.

      Good point! No watches are ever stolen in the USA, proving that carrying a gun protects your watch… right? ….Right?
      …in all seriousness, I’m not American. However I follow some American CC folks who create content and they all say one thing: don’t draw unless your life is in danger, and you’re willing to kill. Not sure about you, but a wristwatch isn’t worth my life

      I don’t carry a gun, but respect the right of any law abiding citizen to do so. Spent plenty of time in NYC, Miami, Charlotte for work and never, ever had any incidents. Maybe I’ve been lucky .

    lol let them try that in China, caught in 24 hours and 20 years of hard labor if legal age. If not adult, parents responsible to pay for all the stolen goods prices, plus fines, plus any hospital bills of victim, and the teenage culprit is send to “volunteer” work for the next 10 years.
    Pickpocket yes just like any other big cities, but little to no violent crimes or robbery in Shanghai or any Chinese city, I can wear all my expensive watches all day long and enjoy them without a worry. In the US or when I am at working in London, only thing I wear is an old Apple Watch or no watch at all

    • @WatchFocus8800
      @WatchFocus8800  6 месяцев назад

      Yes, in many cities around the world, such crimes are hard to come by because of a strong legal system and enforcement. Thanks for the comment.

    I’ve fortunately worn by Breitling and Tudor in NYC, Barcelona last 2 years with no incidents. Perhaps it’s only Rolex, AP, RM that catch thieves eyes.

    • @WatchFocus8800
      @WatchFocus8800  6 месяцев назад +1

      Maybe, but I think it's any watch worth value. Consider yourself lucky and be safe.

    • @nickjanssen

      Indeed, carrying a counterfeit AP, Patek, or Rolex poses a greater risk of robbery than carrying an authentic Breitling, Tudor, or Omega."

    I just leave it at home too. Not even leaving it in a hotel room safe is (no pun intended) safe. Because that's the fucked up world we live in where the boys in blue collect their protection tax from the scum of the earth and any means of defending yourself are more likely to earn you a fatter sentence than the guy mugging you. At this point I'd be better off upgrading my Royale with a stsinless steel case and bracelet since it's unlikely I'll wear anything else on vacation.

    That's very good advice. The one thing that bothers me about this video is you admit to owning fake Rolexes. Why?

    • @WatchFocus8800
      @WatchFocus8800  6 месяцев назад

      Thank you for the feedback. I bought a cheap fake Rolex to compare it to a real one and do a review on it. I will not lie to my viewers by showing them a fake watch and pretend it's genuine. And to be perfectly clear, I do not recommend anyone buy a fake. It's much much better to have a cheap real watch.

    unfortunately western police (legal system) is way too busy with fining hard working commuters for 5kmh violations (or over missing emission stickers) instead of going after actual violent criminals. Therefore I think it is up to ordinary citizens like us to study the regional crime statistics before travelling.
    As a rule of thumb, I wear my time peaces, only if I am visiting small European towns, particularly at the ones which were not blessed with multiculturalism yet.
    when I travel to Paris, London (or even Zurich) for work, my watch always stays at home (or in a hidden compartment in the car). My fitbit versa does the time keeping.

    The thing is that even sub $1,000 watches are really starting to look great. I have Seikos that, in the wrong place at the wrong time, could get me in trouble. Dials and case finishing on many microbrands are incredibly eye catching. Gotta be vigilant and careful, no watch is worth your life. Good video, I'll check out your channel!

    I know someone who was beaten until both his retinas detached for the sake of his sneakers, and I have been mugged for nothing more than the spare change in my pocket, I hate to think what such thugs would do to obtain a watch worth thousands.
    It may be worth using the divers extension to move the watch well up your arm so it doesn't peek out of your sleeve if forced to enter one of the increasing numbers of dangerous areas?

    • @WatchFocus8800
      @WatchFocus8800  6 месяцев назад

      You're absolutely right. These thugs would do anything they can get away with. Good idea with the Diver's extension. Thanks for the feedback.

    I would’t worry about the Oris. The Omega might be confused with a Rolex by the uneducated. Definitely tell do not support makers of fake watches.
