Those are an amazing pair of cars you have there! Regarding the misfire start with the basics first. Check for fouled plugs. Do a compression test. Ohm put the plug wires. Check cap and rotor for arcing. If your compression checks out as ok it’s probably going to be a bad wire or plug.
Yes, very nice wheels. Good place to lose some weight. Nice looking paint as well. Sorry it's been such a challenge getting the pieces together. At least you ar not unfamiliar with crawling under it in adverse conditions. For wheel to wheel comp you will likely be there again.
I know the fustration all too well. I am currently building a Miata for W2W that was supposed to be in track last May. Currently dreading confirming what I think is a motor with av ton of blow by because I know what it'll cost in time, effort, and money to fix. Keep up the great work! Can't wait to see videos of it in action
Haha! You’re daughter is adorable. Great little helper! Wondering.. do you have a parts list for all the clutch components and pieces you used. That quick connect setup is sweet, and I’m in the process of a full hyd clutch swap on my t56 swap into my car. The way you put yours together is perfect. Great looking cars!!
For a T56 swap I’d use an oem throwout bearing. The GM ones come with a quick disconnect. Tick sells a hose with the other side of the quick disconnect. My list is: Tilton 6000 series hydraulic throwout bearing -4 male / male union -4 12” braided line -4 speedway quick disconnect -4 22” braided line -4 90* bulkhead fitting and nut -4 18” braided hose with a 90* on one end 13/16” Wilwood master cylinder with remote reservoir. Size per Tilton instructions for my clutch.
Good idle but misses as RPM climbs? If your distributor has mechanical advance, check for broken/ weak spring(s). Could be too much (advanced) timing coming in or just erratic timing - an easy visual check and confirmed with a timing light even if just to rule it out. Congrats for no leaks!
I was pleasantly surprised. My Forgelines were misordered and have max mounting pad thickness instead of minimum and the weigh 22 lbs each. I like the S71 and wanted a set originally for this car but the backspacing is super limited.
@@AutoXandTrack s71s have weird backspacing available. I use tiny spacers on mine. plus S71s are nearly $1,000 each so they are stupid overpriced since 2020.
Love your car man! I was really wonder what your cam specs are? Really want that high pitch roadrace sound. Also what rpm band do you make power at? Thanks!
Had a rough idle / running issue on my 66 Vintage road race car..found 2 spark plugs #3 and #4 had cracked ceramics. Evidently they were cracked during installation due to tight tolerance between header flange and spark plug port in the block. Lean jetting was an issue too..car was constructed at 2200 feet above sea level, and raced at 300 ft (Sonoma)..we'll see if she runs this April at Sonoma. BTW..where did you buy the fender flares ? Good luck
@@AutoXandTrack Thanks for the info. Was curious being a track car but sounded like it had some mufflers on it and wasnt obnoxious on the street. Cool rig man!!
I'd check the wires (including engine ground), plugs, distributor cap and coil first. It probably misses on high rpm too, you just dont hear it. If it was so low compression, that it doesnt ingnite on racing coil and inginiton control kit, it would smoke noticeably.
Have you connected a vacuum gauge to it? When my car was carbureted it was always a good starting point to tune with a vacuum gauge. I also hooked up O2 sensors to adjust the A/F ratio. ruclips.net/video/aBbD_JlKBGY/видео.html
Thanks for hang'n in there with the 'Stang Chad.... Buying someone elses 'toy' will always bring headaches...ask me how I know. LOL
How do you know? 🤣😬
Perfect ending to the vid. Look forward to seeing this beauty on the track. Get well soon Chad!
Great video, glad to see the improvements with no leaks!
Great to see the mustang back under its own power....
Good work.
I’m ready for it to kick the crap out of the Camaro
Needs a bit more work but I’d love to do a head to head.
Car looks awesome! Great wheel choice. Check for vacuum leaks? Hook up a vacuum gauge to help get the idle circuits dialed in.

Car is looking great! Way to persevere. I am going to be that guy and say that the reason it doesn't run right is because it is carbureted.
Great progress!!! Keep it up!
Thanks!

Beautiful car !! and what a sound !! engine and exhaust specs please !!
Thanks! The engine is a mild 408w into 2.5” exhaust with old school Flowmaster 40 series mufflers.
Congrats the car is looking awesome. Enjoying the channel. Keep up the good work!
Thanks!
Sounds great 🍻
Thanks Brian!
Good video...away love the footage...just ordered a Driven Steering wheel because I see you use them..Keep up the good work.
Awesome! I think they are a great bang for the buck wheel. Though the prices went up a decent amount after they got acquired.

18x11 at 17lbs is pretty good
my 18x11 WELD S71 wheels are 23lbs each

Flares came on the car when I bought it. They are 3.25” flares by Maier Racing.
On the rough running: Have you checked for vacuum leaks?
What jongbloed wheels are these? They are beautiful
The X10. On their website the show it as a monoblock but they can make any monoblock design in a 3 piece as well.
@@AutoXandTrack ok nice! Did you get them as a one piece or 3 piece design? …they look bad ass on your car by the way!
@@petrolhead8851 thanks! I got the 3 piece design. It opens up a lot more width and backspace options. And still only weighs 17.x lbs
Nice job, what wheel flares are you using? link?

Haha. Yes by both measures. My wife watched this video and asked where the pissed off neighbor scene was. 🤣
Mr Chad, what are you running for exhaust? Diameter of pipes and are you using a race muffler or? Curious thanks man keep up the great work!
Shorty headers into 2.5” duals with an x-pipe into old school Flowmasters. Upgrading the exhaust is on the todo list.

What fender flares are you running
Maier Racing “moulded” 3.5” flares.
Very nice build where did you get those rims

what rear flares are on the car ??

Whats the cost for wheels like that?
I got a friend of a friend discount but I think they go for about $4k retail. The cheapest race proven 3 piece fully forged wheels I’ve found.
@@AutoXandTrack I didn't catch the brand or retailer?
Jongbloed Racing Wheels. They sell direct. They machine the centers and spin their own hoops right here in California. www.jongbloedracingwheels.com
