The pork butt was the 2nd thing I cooked on my Minimax. I used the Fogo Briquettes(red bag), and it turned out great. and the thing set up to the side is a BBQ pit for whole hogs.
Awesome post Ron and Tina, been meaning to pick up some of Tina's European blend seasoning based on past segments. One thought from the Big Green Egg perspective is what's the difference in a Minimax vs. Small egg (same grate size). I understand the portability element, but there's also the grate distance from the fire and fuel capacity for the Small. There's a reason and purpose for both, thanks a ton for helping all of us learn!
Great video! Love the mini max with the FOGO! I'm curious though, did I miss the giveaway listed in the video title? Great products in the video if you are doing the giveaway!
I love my Mini Max, especially for camping BUT I do use it at home a lot too! I've done ribs, burgers, brats (of course boiled in Guiness first) and parmesan zucchini. I really want Tina's European Rub and this new Pork rub. It looks like FOGO is sold out so where can I get these. I've looked in local BBQ stores but never can find it. Thank you two for another amazing video and a plus using the Mini Max! FOGO all the way! BTW - could you have used the FOGO briquettes, or would they burn out too fast?
Made a bone in Boston Butt as my first cook on my new XL BGE. Use P.I.G. rub with duck fat. The cinder blocks looks like a BBQ pit for whole pigs and others meats.
@@FOGOcharcoal very nice. Missing the country charm it once had years ago, still slower compared to S Florida..born in Hialeah, grew up in Weston, smoking beef ribs in Newnan..can't beat it!
Cinder block pit that can be used to cook a whole hog. Thanks for showing us a cook for a boneless pork butt. Have always tried the bone in version but will definitely give the boneless version a try
@FOGOCHARCOAL1 You put those two together and they give you the best recipes and information. Everything they have made always looks so delicious 😋 😋 Love fogo lump Charcoal ❤️
The Canadian popping in again to see 2 of my favorite grillers. The contraption in the back would be a place to smoke those whole little piggies and maybe even the wolf if he sticks around. Great video. Video suggestion. Couple of lobster tails and a nice 12-16 oz filet mignon on the MiniMax
Cylinder block full hog cooker! You two must of read my mind because the pork butt is my next cook. I also buy Al pans from the local store to catch grease besides wrapping the deflectors. Hmmm, I thought the string was one of the finer parts of pork butt. Do you guys have a special sauce that you make to go alone with the butt? I looking to start making my own sauces with limited amount of sugars.
That looks rather porky 🐷. Learned something new today. Great tips thanks for sharing the skills. The block box you asked about is Tina’s homemade pig cooker. In my minimax I use one half of Blazaball and put starter underneath. This way I get the best of both and doesn’t take up too much room.
I currently have three BGE’s (you’re right they seem to multiply 😅) and I have been making a lot of your recipes and we are loving every thing keep it coming! Thank you
Awesome, more minimax videos please!!! I’m always looking for more things I can cook in the minimax
More to come!
Yessss!!! More mini max content 😍😍 some day I’ll get the big one and scrub through your older Large Size green egg videos!
The MiniMax is a great unit and very versatile. Anyhtng you can do on a large, you can do on a minimax
With applying all that seasoning dies it not come out to salty?
Oh no, not even a little.
Awesome! From what I saw, I can imagine it was delicious. I totally agree, I want to see a brisket made on the Minimax

Another great video. MiniMax is my next Egg for smaller, direct-heat cooks. Those crunchy little nuggs are THE best!
Yes they are! Hey, if you like the MM, check out the newest video that we just dropped.
Did you have to add charcoal 2/3 way ?
We added no charcoal at all
Brisket substitute that you could cook on the minimax?
How about if we just cook a brisket on the minimax?
Appreciate your videos so much. Would love to see more cooks on the Mini-Max. Cinderblock homemade pit smoker.
Thanks and we are working on it
The pork butt was the 2nd thing I cooked on my Minimax. I used the Fogo Briquettes(red bag), and it turned out great. and the thing set up to the side is a BBQ pit for whole hogs.

I like the boneless because you get more for your money
Do you still score a fat cap on a bone-in butt? Never tried a boneless.
I alwasy score it whether bone in or boneless. Helps the fat render better

Why boneless instead of bone?
