People don't realize what incredible treasure this is. I love everything about it, it's like an impressionistic painting of an 80's American action movie seen through the eyes of Japanese geeks. AR YU OKK?
I love Japanese video game commercials even more than the Mortal Kombat two ones that was pretty good better than that crappy new movie even some of the streetfighter a VideoGame commercials are you better than some of the toy ones we had in the US C with resident evil
It's insane how all of these commercials somehow manage to make an excellent live action movie movie than any of the ACTUAL live action adaptaions we had so far. The production, the sceneries, the action. Sure, it's not the best quality because it's just a commercial, plus there is very little to no story, but just imagine if it wasn't just a commercial and they put a little more money and effort into it. Like we already have the foundation, the blueprint, the basis, the reference we need for a Fatal Fury live action movie(s) from these commercials alone. Now all we just need to do is build on that foundation/blueprint/basis/reference.
A brief plot summary of the Fatal Fury games up to through this one. Terry Bogard and his brother Andy are orphans who are found and adopted by a man named Jeff Bogard. Jeff Bogard is a master of the eight extremes fighting style taught to him by his master, Tung Fue Rue. At age 10, Terry and Andy witness Jeff Bogard die at the hands of Geese Howard. Crime boss, and organizer of the King of Fighters tournament in Southtown USA. Terry and Andy realize that as 10 year olds they aren't strong enough to face Geese yet. They vow to avenge their father by stopping Geese and train to beat his ass for the next 10 years which leads into the first Fatal Fury game. Also Andy moved away to train in Italy. In the events of Fatal Fury 1, Terry fights his way through the tournament and ends up face to face with Geese Howard. After a very difficult fight, Terry wins and knocks Geese off the high rise they were fighting on seemingly killing him. Terry is then hailed as a hero to Southtown for liberating them from Geese's corruption. All is well for a while until another King of Fighters tournament crops up. This time it's organized by Wolfgang Krauser. Geese's half brother. Something was up and Terry had to investigate. Once again Terry worked his way through the tournament and got to Krauser. Krauser was defeated and he dropped off the face of the earth after the fight. It's not 100% known what happens to him after, however the most accepted answer is from Memories of Stray Wolves which basically says after Terry won the fight he killed himself. 3 years pass and Terry gets information from Joe Higashi that Geese faked his death in Fatal Fury 1. Terry sets off to confirm the legitimacy of Joe's claim and ends up intertwined in a plot by two Chinese orphans and a dangerous criminal named Ryuji Yamazaki to obtain the three Jin Scrolls and achieve immortality. That's where the story is at the beginning of the 3rd game.
I don't know anything about this game or King of Fighter series, but it makes me think it would've made a cool live-action film in the 90s with how the commercial is.
1:34 I think they took this scene from "No Retreat, No Surrender" where the dad gets attacked by some thugs and they poor beer on him and say "clean yourself up. You're a mess!". Crazy how the promotional video is actually showing the behind the scenes and making of of the game! Even something as small as them doing spritework on the train in the background or scrapped material. Wish more promo videos did that.
Whenever I see things like that, I always think about how much hard work advertisers in Japan put into marketing their major releases. We didn't get shit like this in America. We got cool commercials, but it was always some fast and punchy 20 to 30 second heroin fever dream. They always buried it in some crazy joke, and we only got to see quick slices of actual gameplay footage. The Super Punch Out ad is a great example.
@@KenMasters. I know and I hate it. If it weren't for Terry and Ryo, KOF would not enjoy the success it does. I am sick of both Terry and the Fatal Fury crew and Ryo and The AOF crew, being joke characters or made to look bad, so Kyo,Iori and the rest of the other KOF main characters can look good.
Doom Victor Ikr? I’m not too big of a fan on how Kyo plays, his attacks go all over the place compared to Terry and Ryo. In the KOF story, Terry and Ryo are supposed to be looked upon as legendary veterans who are supposed to appeal to older SNK fans compared to next-gen fighters like Kyo. But the type of roles they both had in the KOF games were supporting ones. But it would’ve been better if they each had alternate/individual plots so the story can be like WWE or UFC.
I wanted Brandon Lee to portray me in a 1994 Street Fighter film. (Also, fun fact, he was going to be offered the role of Johnny Cage in the Mortal Kombat movie, but he died.)
90s boy here Terry was da 1 I'd always use around da year 2000 when King of fighters came out it was a blast some times I'd win and some times I'd lose
This is sooo funny!! This promo is a really good joke, kept laughing all the way through the video sequence! And it finished as randomly as it started with Terry I miss you!! Oh my God! 😭🤣😅😂😜🤣😭😅😂 But I love this game, I remember the first day it came out was the Playstation and Saturn era, any always still holding up very steady against the competition. It's a shame SNK didn't carry on doing 2D games I still think that they're very great and that they is room for them. I'm on a journey to trying to create another version of this game ff4, a mark of the wolves 2, and a decent sequel to art of fighting 2.
super corny and melodramatic, i do love it though and it does have a somber air to it, you can see the sadness of terry's backstory baked into the video. great stuff
Omg, that first part was filmed in Chinatown in Honolulu, even the green lamp posts are there...
Awesome!. What's the name of the street?
Decent portayal of Yamazaki. I love that character

There is one phrase that rings true all these years later: "It's Terry Bogard, everybody likes Terry Bogard."
Everybody minus 1.

Why does it sound like vergil is asking if that's terry bogard 😂
i found you
it sounds just like dan southworth
Same audio quality and everything. Vergil harasses Terry Bogard. I need to see it.
That game was so incredible for its time ! I think even today we can feel its rythm in this clip. I played it sooo much 🎉
El riff del tema musical esta de poca madre, chevere, chingon, guay.
IS THAT TERRY BOGARD.
No... its Theodore Roosevelt.

90's where peak👍
Imagine the Jin Twins on this comercial. Showing Terry beating up a couple of kids?, that wouldn't have been a good idea. LOL
"Is that Terry Bogard" is now forever stuck in my head.
Bro this can be a perfect movie from the 90’s . All they need was J.V.D as Andy and Brandon Lee as Joe and let’s rock!
I think Tony jaa could make a better Joe Higashi nowadays
I wanted Brandon Lee to portray me in a 1994 Street Fighter film.

En ese tiempo ni siquiera el creador de DMCry pensaba en ese personaje..más bien el tipo que vio este comercial seguro se inspiro aquí
i still can’t believe there wasn’t a legit 90s live action Fatal Fury movie.
That game would of benefitted having some kind of 90s martial arts movie

Ok, I'm convinced, Day 1 purchase for me
They rented a helicopter just for this promotional video!
In hindsight, this might explain why SNK eventually went bankrupt...
Ah...the good ole days. I knew this was going to be 1995 special and if you were alive that year you know what I mean....ah....
I wish this was a live movie as I would watch this
Anyone know who the Terry Bogard actor is?
Any idea who played terry in this one?

Awesome
This ad is basically Geese Howard s pulling a Michael myers following Terry Bogard
I thought i was gonna see Paul Rudd as Terry Bogard lol...or Ryan Gosling 😂
But instead, we get a sh!tty live-action KOF movie where David Leitch plays Terry Bogard.
Este anuncio es mejor que la horrible película de kof
