  • With about 95 percent of the 2.5 million U.S. inmates eventually returning to life behind bars, how can you make prison positive? Hear how rocker Wayne Kramer turned his stay in Club Fed for a 1970's drug conviction into a platform to launch Jail Guitar Doors USA, a nonprofit that teaches inmates both musical and life skills.

    When he told the audience he played in a band from Detroit called the MC5,
    the utter silence astounded me. .

    I never knew Wayne did the music for eastbound and down. That’s so great.😁👍

    My intro to Wayne was him singing "Ramblin' Rose" with the MC5. Knew he had something when I saw that but, after seeing this I realize just how deep this man has become. "You've got e thinking real serious about how I can respond to the challenge in your message!"

    The song is originally from Joe Strummer's previous band the 101'ers but was developed further by Mick Jones in the Clash' first days

    His book "The Hard Stuff" is a beautiful story of redemption. Are you gonna be a part of the problem or part of the solution? Wayne was a part of the problem, and now he is working on the solution!

    If Wayne Kramer is the Wayne of this song, who do we believe the Pete and Keith are? I reckon Pete is Peter Green (formerly of Fleetwood Mac) and Keith is Keith Richards of the Stones. Any other ideas or opinions???

    • @Itelkner
      @Itelkner 6 лет назад +2

      I was thinking while listening that Keith could be Keith Levene, original Clash member who was kicked out of the band. He was a known user, but I don't know that was ever arrested, went to trial, or did time.

    In America, the idea of rehabilitation, is frowned upon, were more of a "lock 'em up and throw away the key' mentality , which is quite cruel, it also never works, just look up the name "Carl Panzram."

      Sounds scary to me😀 must terrify you. Ya know Wayne is a political left winger himself. You would know that if you knew much at all about him. I like his politics. Do you really think the audiences political opinions mattered to Wayne? I doubt it

    I like him and his mission. But I can never trust an AA or 12 step member. Bye!
