- The fall colors are on full display and this quaint farmhouse with the yellow and orange leaves caught my eye. The trees are bursting with color and the cool air with blue skies is almost heaven. I hope you enjoy this video, and if you do, please give a thumbs up!

Great fall color demo! You are creating a wonderful channel that will benefit and inspire many painters.
@@sueg65 thank you so much! I’m glad you liked it.
That’s beautiful! Lovely painting. 💛🌿🧡🍁😍🍂

Shawn, what a beautiful painting. A little brush washing tip I use one half Dawn soap and one half Murphy oil soap. Murphy is a liquid soap. Don’t Use hot water. Just warm water. I have been using this mixture for years. My brushes look like new! Happy painting,
Thank you! I've tried Murphy's before but didn't like it very much. Fells Naptha works wonderful. I should give Murphy's another try with your mixture. Thank you for the info!
@@shawnescott I use Murphy's. What I do is put straight Murphy's at the bottom of a tall plastic cup with just enough to cover the bristles ONLY. I let them soak for a couple hours or a couple days depending on the state of the bristles. I then run them under warm water with a little dish detergent and they come out soft and clean.
@@KayInMaineI'll have to give this a try. Thank you! :)
Nice work!

Fantastic painting as always, I need to practice more and just get out especially at this time of year when the trees have so much beautiful colour 😊 p.s. missed not having a bible verse 😢
Murphys does work great on really dirty brushes. You can apply hair conditioner to your brush after washing to reshape them. A little dab of conditioner goes far.
👍👍🌱
Great painting!! What colors are on your palette for this painting?
@@michaelrossi677 thank you!
I use
Titanium white
Cadmium yellow
Cadmium red
French ultramarine
Phthalo green
Burnt sienna
Thank you
I like the painting a lot. I would like the video a lot better if you could talk a bit as it goes along, occasionally telling what you are thinking and why you do it the way you do it. I believe you can have a lot more followers faster if you develope that aspect. You have the skills but doing video is an additional skill. Not that it is bad as it isn't.
Great painting!
Thanks! I'll try to sprinkle in a few of those teaching videos here and there. This is a video where I talk step by step through the process ruclips.net/video/sJdv0ve8zEU/видео.htmlsi=jUXS_I4iKblJ6CRP
Hope you like it!
So interesting to watch! I am a slow painter but I think I could benefit from plein air painting to help me paint more loosely. But how do not get overwhelmed with what is in front of you compared to the small canvas? I tried it once but just seeing the portion of the view to paint gave me a headache.
Hi Susan,
Thank you for your comment! Sometimes I'm slow too, I think it's important to trust the process and go at a steady pace. A good tip is to make a view finder. Take a piece of cardboard and cut a small rectangle the basic shape of your canvas. Then you can look through it to determine your composition and do a sketch. I used one of those for years. You can also use your fingers to make a view finder or even your phone camera. Hope that helped! Happy painting.
Nice painting, it would be interesting to see you paint without the speed as we could learnt a lot.
@@paulperry8614 thank you Paul! Actually, my previous video has a great hour long process in normal speed. Check it out here: ruclips.net/video/4ipL-VT9klQ/видео.htmlsi=9tMw9PlJ2kLeuUBZ
