I just switched from Squad to Squad 44 two days ago. I’m loving it so far. It’s a nice change of pace. The sound and effects hit so much harder than Squad I was shocked. 10/10 recommend

It would be nice if finding a game was possible. I want to play this game but it doesn't really have a playerbase in New Zealand/Australia, everyone's playing Hell Let Loose.
It really is very well executed. HLL used to seem a step above, but it's the other way around now. It's just a much more realistic and challenging milsim, making HLL feel quite casual arcade.
I have bought Post Scri-- I mean Squad 44 for only one reason: I hope it gets better. Like it is a squad mod after all, and if it can live up to its form to become "just a Squad mod but WWII" then I will be happy as I can only be - that is: it gets rig of the bugs, one can run it even on a low budget PC, one can set the compass on top of the HUD - otherwise it is as insane as Squad imho, the weaponry is massive, and you can do so much damage with just about any gun that you pick ( I have got just the craziest of kills just out of a "regular" suppression fire, headshots and all that, I think that in the nearest future, if Squad and Squad 44 are on your HDD, you can safely switch between those two, just solely based off of the timeline of your preference, otherwise the main theme should remain: war is hell.)
Unfortunatly, most youtubers posting S44 videos always cut the looooooong minutes you are just watching a black screen, waiting to be revived. It's a REALLY slow pace game, really not action packed like in this type of video. 80% of your time is running, waiting to run and waiting to be revived. And 20% is really fun....

They are both good game. They are not comparable, because they are different games. Squad 44 is more realistic and way more slow. Hell is more action. I play both and they are both great. Depends on my mood. :)

HLL is like a pathetic Call Of Duty rip off compared to this masterpiece. And yes, I own and have played both games. This game remains the king.
Sorry, no... HLL no need to wish for that. 5 times SP or now Squad44 installed and then unistalled after some minutes. I had hope with every update, but i was always disappointed. Grahics on epic ist like Arma3 from 2013 ..empty servers...loveless environment-go into the houses! .gives a lot more points. There are also points that are good, e.g. selection of tanks. I definitely wanted to like the game, but I can't....others apparently can and love the game with its mutiple shortcomings. For me , HLL is in every sense the better game
You're doing a fantastic job with this game but what this game needs is Jack Frags to do a playthrough. It is like ultimate advertisement for gamers to try it!
This game is very cpu bound not gpu bound which sucks but you could try clearing the game cache or lowering some graphics settings or turning on dlss even though in my opinion dlss looks bad but it will boost your framerate a lot but other than that all I can suggest you to do if that doesn’t work is either wait for them to optimise it or save up for a new cpu which sucks that those are the only options but that’s what you gotta do
Squad and squad 44 still has one big issue that never seems to be fixed and that is joining a server. No favorite server possibility and joining with a friend or two is nearly impossible. Exepecially on same side because of the idiotic system of throwing people from side to side to balance sides without asking player.
This game has always been a bang for a buck. Sure the former dev's were sometimes lazy and didn't fix things or bring more content to the game but this game has always had great community and the team play is on the other level sometimes. It has always been the PTSD simulator. I'm glad the game is alive again and getting new players after the chaos of 2023.
Squad44 can be a walking simulator if u have a bad leader. But tbh, i have both, and squad44 legit feels more cinematic when having battles. Both close and long range battles.
The day the optimise the game it the day I will play it again. Every time I come back the thing is dropping under 60 constantly whenever in any sort of proper combat. It is a joke that they have yet to do this since 2018 lmao
The local chat is the only thing I don't like when downed people are calling out to me when I'm a medic and it sounds like there 5 meters away when there really 45 meters away.
Was getting bored of Squad, and HLL just turned to shit. Ever since Offworld took over Post Scriptum and turned it to Squad 44, I haven't played anything else. It's that good. Immersion is on another level. I honestly wish they'd align the original Squad towards what we currently have in Sq44 : better lightning and map design, gore, the stamina/canteen mechanic, overall feel of the gunplay etc.
Devs from both PS/seuqad said that they don't want Gore on squad to don't mess with veterans, and frankly i get it.. They have veteran who are devs too
Yes it’s got more vehicles all the uniforms are free and change depending on the map there’s a French Aussie and Greek faction there are loads of British American and polish maps there’s three different German factions the whermancht the ss and the falschmajager there’s mortars the only thing the game doesent have is the eastern front but the game has mods with the eastern front anyway but it is a much more difficult game to learn compared to he’ll let loose keep that in mind if you plan on buying it oh and also this is pc only it’s not on console which is sad but other than that it’s an amazing game
If you're more into casual gunplay, go for HLL. If you like a more hardcore experience where communicating with your squad is crucial, go for Squad 44. The latter is much better in my opinion, but ultimately it's up to what kind of experience you want.
Not for me. Movement is clunky, colors are not very natural, textures are not as smooth and the environment looks more "high end" and detailed in HLL. The overall atmosphere is much more imersive for me in HLL.

How would you compare the players? My problem with hell let loose is that it's the type of game that absolutely requires teamwork but few people do.
That fortress is damn near impenetrable. I've had games where we spent 30 minutes trying to get in and couldn't do it.
