Absolutely brilliant!!
yeah GG Andre - he saved me HOURS and HOURS by sharing that little gem!
For creating offset planes I'm pretty sure you can just Ctrl drag from a surface and it will create an offset plane.
I am very big into customizing the context menus and my S key menus for sure! Very handy
You can CTRL drag from a plane to make a copy, but not from a face. - Glad this one will help!! :-)
This is a great tip, thank you and thanks to Andre
awww yeah!
Nice!
thanks Jed!
This is the first command I added when you uploaded the video about customizing the context toolbar a couple of months ago. Great tip
Yeah thats a PRO MOVE! Nice job!
A sketch or reference plane perpendicular to the edge
Select an edge near the end and click Sketch.
The sketch or plane (in this case don't draw anything just press OK) is created perpendicular to the edge passing through the end point.
Yup very true and another good shortcut!
Some scenarios where this doesn't work:
1. If you are using a guide curve (a single spline) and have created several points along the guide curve, where you want to create planes for loft profiles, you wouldn't be able to use this shortcut (since it only creates a plane at the nearest end of the curve).
2. If the path or guide curve is a 2D sketch, and you select the curve and then press the SKETCH button, you don't get a new plane, you just go into EDIT SKETCH mode.
I know these are corner cases, but I've been burned a few times by these, so it's good to know the different options we have :-)
I love these tips!
Thanks!
So cool you shared this as a power move! It came to me one night in my sleep! Like most ideas I have. Already used some of the techniques you showed me in training! I'd say it was well worth the time and money! Thanks Toby!
Awww yeah SOO GLAD you got to see this!! Thanks so much for the ultra pro move Andre! I use it all the time!! Game changer!
GG Andre! 😁
thank you so much brother you help me a lot
yeah this one is totally CLUTCH!!
I avoid flyout menus in my S key menu at all costs, sure my shortcut bar may be busy, but it is less frustrating than dealing with those flyouts.
I utilize the context menu so often though, it has all the tools I use often (components/sketch patterns, mirrors, hole wizard so I just click a face or plane and immediately jump into it, etc.)
One more thing to note in case anyone has issues with it (I do all the time, for some reason SW just hates me). If holding control and clicking multiple entities then releasing control does not bring up the context menu (or quick mates), use SHIFT instead of control, I have had 100% success with shift, but control is like 50% *shrug*
AWESOME! Excellent suggestions! Thanks!
My color scheme is adapted for colorblind users by default. How to bring this yellow and green color scheme back? Which version are you using?
OPTIONS>COLORS>ICON COLOR
I talk about it in this video a bit, but I should probably make a video dedicated to the topic :-)

is it just me, or is it very difficult to arrange the commands and resize the popup window?
*Edit. looks like its just the "Graphics Area" shortcut bar I cant resize, but it's very tricky to arrange the commands in a useful order.
In this video I talk about how I setup my S key, and talk about some things to consider:

Ultimately its going to be different for each user, but hopefully this will help!
