Memories of Pressing out bearings: We had a Ford New Holland dealership for years and one of my techs was also a local farmer. I would take back a hub or something that needed the bearing pressed out and he would reach into his small toolbox, pull out a large blunt chisel and a hammer. Either set the part on his vise or clamp, and tap out that bearing with the hammer and chisel before I could have walked across the shop to the press and got everything lined up to press it out. A lot of times we would use an impact socket as a bearing driver to tap out a bearing.
Come 250 miles north west to Gordon ne and you can dang sure have the 20-40mph winds we have and have not had a 1.5 inch of rain this year, we’re hurting, love your and Laura’s shows and watch them all the time
It's great having the Mrs. riding along. She does "spoil" you with the chow. She makes a great supporting cast member in your video. I do remember when I was a young lad and neighbors to my extended family's farm in Southeast Kansas joined together to harvest the corn. When noon arrived, everybody would come in to the house for fried chicken and fresh corn. Even though I was too young to "help" in the fields, I sure wasn't too young to sit at the tables with all the farmers and helpers chowing down before heading back to the field. That meal was always one of the best.
Best statement ever, "we're just making it up as we go." You just answered your own question: Why do we guys keep asking for more? Because farming is all about winging it in your efforts to improvise, adjust, and overcome. Carry on Dude!
I suggested this in the comments in another video, but really hoping Megan might be open to doing a "havest cooking moment" in your videos. Telling her side of the story while making some of her recipes. Sounds like she has some tried and true harvest recipes based upon the way Laura used to describe her cooking and you do "as well too." *wink* Appreciate ya and all the harvest content.
Hi Cale (Kale?). I found you via Laura Farms. I subscribed to your channel and will be learning a lot I'm sure as you and your sons bring the crops in. Nice to meet Laura's mom as well. What a blessing to have a close family. I found out that you grow male and female seed corn. I don't know how that works exactly as I thought a corn plant self-pollinates (the top sprinkling down on the the tassels). Or something like that. I need the birds-and-bees talk regarding corn. I'm looking forward to the rest of the harvest.
You certainly do stay busy! Hope your bean mixing/moisture mixing strategy works out as planned! 😂 BTW, I ordered a pair of gloves via your link. THANKS! ❤
@12:30 final moisture will be 12 Cale, The most beautiful part of your channel IS Megan. Yes, I'm over 50 and female......... Megan, you spoil Cale, Ethan and Adam......
for your steak but a good cut, and put just salt pepper and garlic powder on it and set it in the fridge for an hour, then take it out and let it warm up for a bout 20 minutes. Won't be disappointed.
@@LEAADFarmsHow much extra does drying corn cost? And I believe that isn't a v-type sweep but rather a cutting disc like on a disc harrow. Btw, you and your wife have a great family. Excellent stock.
That mustache is either 70's porn or Marlboro Man, either way its gotta go! Nothing works like a IH Axial Flow combine. Of course now I guess they are CASE but in my day they were the best you could get!
You all are spoiled by each other. What a great balance. I am impressed with you guys.
That father and son dialogue with no yelling and arguing was fantastic.
I enjoy your videos. Nice having Megan with you. Shows a good bond together.
Always love to see Megan in the videos.
Watching farming videos is better than watching TV programming
Always happy to see Megan in your videos, then we know it is a real family farm.

After not doing something for many months you forget and it takes a while to get back into the swing of things. - - - So very true.
The last kid you taught how to combine left and is now farming her own farm LOL 😆

Good morning it is calming to watch your farming vids
Another great video of central Nebraska farming
Still amazing how much different farming is from my experience.
A different life altogether....
I aways called that press air over hydraulic.
We haven't frozen yet up here in ND either. I am 20 % done with our beans. 11% moisture up here too.

Love your videos Cale! However the motor you're speaking of is a "Cummins" not Commons as your video shows.
Make videos with Laura and you together ❤️
What time of year do you harvest your corn I have noticed that here in the uk that they haven’t harvested them yet
By math those soybeans should be 12.8 moisture, but with warm days I bet they will be 13.1
Why are you driving? I thought everyone has GPS for automatic guidance.
Would u ever get a case tractor over ur deere tractors?
date night
Besides Laura how many children do you and Megan have?
LEAAD. 5 kids 🙂
What is your preferred moisture level for harvesting soybean and corn?
@@ArnoldSchramel 13% for soybeans and 15 to 16% corn
Actually, I would rather harvest 20 to 24% moisture corn. Bring it home and dry it and then haul it into town at 15%.
