Hello Mr. Weaver, this is just what I've been looking for! I have an existing 3" rod pocket panel. 50" wide. I'm not a sewer at all. Do I just need to cut the tape the same width of the panel and sew on? I'd sure appreciate your help. Thank you.
Can you post a pictures of what the draperies look like when the tabs are closer together and then when further apart? I cannot visualize which look I would prefer.
Thanks for this info Scott! I have a question: I am going to make either shirred swag valances or pleated swag valances but do not want to use a board for mounting as it is in a historic home and the curtain rods are already in place. I was going to make rod pockets but then I saw this video. Can I attach this back tabbed tape to the back of these swags (it will lay flat when hung, not gathered like how you hung the drapes in video) after I have pleated or shirred the swags and hang them on the curtain rods successfully?
Your instructions are great! My question concerns measuring for a wide valance. I need to have a 106 finished width. How do I figure the unfinished width before I attach the tape in order to have nice pleat at the top? Also, I did not see a link to purchase the tape from your store? I was planning to make my own tabs, but this looks SO much easier. Thank you.
You need to have two and a half times your finished width to have a nice finished pleat at the top 106" x 2.5 = 265". I hope to have the tape back in stock in a few weeks. Thank you!
@@Factorydirectdesignersworkroom Thanks so much for getting back to me - Unfortunately, I had to purchase the tape elsewhere as I was making the valance for my son's home and had a deadline. I wound up measuring by making a template using a broomstick and twill tape with a piece of fabric to figure the width. Guess I did a good job - it worked out perfectly and the valance looks great. I plan to make more since it came out so well and fits beautifully. Thanks for a great tutorial.
