Hey I’m joining Portsmouth this October, I’ve just received an email saying that I’ll be going to Margaret rule Hall. Do you know what that’s like? Because Catherine was my first accommodation choice and I don’t know much about Margaret rule. thank you 🙏
Is there a studying room? And also a bit of a weird question but i love sunlight more than any lights, is the window good enough to light the whole room in the morning? Last one, how clean was the kitchen? Since I’ve heard from people that usually people leave it very dirty... Thank you!
Kitchen was really clean when we moved in! We were very lucky in that respect! I'll put a video up showing the kitchen and the sky lounge, both are really good spaces to study. Sky lounge is open to everyone in the building, where the kitchen is shared between the 5 of you in the flat. The light in the morning, certainly on my side, is enough to wake you up and I don't turn lights on during the day. The curtains are also blackout curtains so if you dont want to be woken up by the light due to a late night or something, you'll be fine!
Hi there, I will be attending the school this September doing a postgrad in Finance. Just wondering which hall you recommend for someone who wants a well balanced study/social lifestyle. I am not as concerned about being close to my buildings as i am finding a hall that will be good for me. What do you recommend? Im coming from canada so i also want to meet as many locals as possible haha
sriny venki new as far as I know most the accommodations have quiet areas. I asked around and I’ve been told Greetham, Catherine and Margaret Rule certainly do
Hi! I'm also considering studying international relations. What did you think of the course this first semester and how are the uni facilities and spaces? Thank you, really enjoyed the video!
Thank you for this comment! So I loved my course first semester. The people on it are a huge mix, and there's a lot of international students studying the course. IR doesn't have a set building, so you may be put for some things in Park building, some things in Richmond for example. But the buildings I'm in are all really nice with good facilities. Some of my lectures are recorded, others are not and the staff are all really good at having the powerpoints etc. on moodle to follow during the lectures. University wise, I can't really fault Portsmouth. They are very supportive and have great facilities. The one thing about first term for me is because in first year you don't pick your modules, you might study something you're not interested in. Like for me particularly in one module I really had to force myself out of bed to go 😂 But it will get better from 2nd year, and I mean even moving into second term the topics have changed to match my preference so I'd still 100% recommend this. Hope this is helpful- please feel free to ask any more questions! x
Lewis Price I honestly only started looking at Portsmouth as a legitimate option after getting my unconditional. Best city I saw by far. It’s honestly a student city and everything’s so close together
Beep b**** this one I’d say is people’s favourite (though I might be bias!). I’m a two minute walk from my lectures and like 8 minutes from the student union. Maybe 5 minutes from the guildhall walk clubs?
MissCharAtkins okay, I would be taking sports and exercise science next year if that changes which would be best for me. Also I have seen your video but I don’t see the name of the accommodation you are in haha. Thankyou x
gurju tik tok in the guardian guide we came 21, but it depends on which guide you choose to use :) in the complete university guide, I believe we came 51st

From what I’ve heard the best for social would be Catherine / James Watson (rosamund Franklin) or Greetham St ☺️
It’s been a year but I wanna ask you did your room have an Ethernet Jack in the wall?
Ooh I don’t know I’m sorry! I don’t think so
