Finally. Finally someone acknowledging how good jean burst feels. I thought i was the only one but that shit just feels like something from an anime plot twist. Like "Ohh no the protagonist is gonna loose" then jean swaps in with her "I swear by my sword" and puts the protagonist back on their feet. And also its soo effortless, with just the twist of her sword
It felt so terrible when I wasn't used to the Camera movement, but now honestly I love it. Especially maxing out Furina stacks like woah.
I got her on the beginner banner and I early game I questioned the sanity of people claiming Bennett was the best healer in the game when she had global heal and a WAY bigger ring. Obviously they were talking about his attack buffing but as healers I didn't feel there was a comparison. It feels great to just be able to reset the fight with her. I'm so glad Furina let me take her back out of the vault. I had rebuilt her when dendro came out hoping I could slot her in somewhere but nope.

Neuvillette's really feels like the biggest gap between what it looks like should be happening and what is actually happening. At least Zhongli's 8 year long animation results in all the enemies being turned into stone.
My favorite thing is to get a vaporize with Nuevillette’s burst easily like 60-110k and most of the times I get a vape I’m not running pyro on the team.

I love nilou burst because how fucking masiv her aoe is, sometime in lower floor i just gonna use favge + emblem on crit build and basically demolished everything with singgle q, idk how masiv the radius is but somehow it always kill everything when i stand in the middle, one of my most favorite speedrun lower floor unit

The camera rotate is cringe but the impact is instant and it's fast for a 5 star. The second your press the button your team is all max HP. That's satisfying.
@@eckology016yep..impact matters a lot, compared to healers like qiqi or barbara which take years to heal the team. And barbara...I legit can remember how many times I have died when casting her burst cause......somehow damage can get through her early frames and it sucks.
It's a lot less aggravating if you play with mouse. The fact that you can't center the camera while in battle on a controller is sooooo bad.
Nahida's skill also feels like shit on controller because instead of "flick, boom, everyone is tagged" you just sit there sloooooowly rotating until you get everyone

there's one instance where i can think where xingqiu's burst doesn't feel good to use. Against those deceptively light as fk lizards (elemental non-boss vishaps, e.g. Primordial Bathysmal Vishap), using your burst can stagger them enough so your skill can miss if you don't dash towards them or they get knocked out of bennet burst.
You E->Q though, right? Unless you are using sac, which does not matter that much for vishap hatchlings.
For those you can use burst further away, it doesn’t have a large area.
I think q being able to stagger is good, u can use it to group, and just dont use sac if its really that big of a deal for ya, not really for me tbh

Diluc's ult would feel and perform a whole lot better if all of its "potential" damage was condensed into 1, at most 2 hits. The phoenix is cool and all and it's fun to send enemies flying, but it's not so fun when they're still alive after carrying them a mile away.
Diluc could've been one of the best pyro dps if he wasn't a 1.0 unit
TRUE, Diluc burst feels SOO UNDERWHELMING when you see a bunch of enemies flying away and you have to chase after them to deal damage.
Removing burst animations would just make every character feel like a 4 star character, no appeal whatsoever. This tier list was from his perspective of practicality of use. Meanwhile, the animator that was mentioned in the beginning of the video, ranked the bursts in an artistic perspective. And yes, Yelan's burst is the one that feels the best to use.
It's worse than that. Removing the animation of every 5*s burst turns them into Bennett: the singularly worst most boring no animation no flair character in the game
well.....that makes sense since zazef is a practical person, not an aesthetic person, thus why this is a very subjective tier list. For me, I value aesthetic and practicality both, thats why venti is my favourite burst, and I hateeee baizhus burst and anything that feels too long, and of course the only burst that gives me anxiety, alhaitham.
Ngl i agree with him on that one. To me 4 star bursts feel better to use than 5 star bursts bc even if the animation is very pretty they take too long. Sure they're nice for i framing but that's it, i wish you could turn them off or at least have an option to speed them up somewhere. I use yelan and kazuha all the time for overworld exploration and i actively avoid using their bursts bc of that

No interruption to speak of and the burst swings are just \*chef's kiss*
I felt so bad having her benched *since release* because no C6, but I ran her in hyperbloom as soon ass that was available and I noticed using Nahida meant I only needed 3 units for it, and now with Furina, even if all the damage comes from her and Yelan, she doesn't feel like she's "just there" and the team works despite of her; the team works so well *because* she's there and you can't replace her with literally any other unit like in HB.
I like to watch Zajef, not because I like theorycrafting or meta, but because he shares the same love for Xingqiu as me LMAO

while not my favorite I like dendro traveler burst. it's a short animation but it has a surprising amount of versatility works great for spread/aggrevate. its really good for nilou teams and decent for hyper bloom if you hit it with electro first. you can even use it in meme teams detonating it like a bomb similar to diluc burst.
I use DMC a ton and I find it really satisfying to just ... be using Traveler and not have it feel stupid.
That said, when you drop it for a hyperbloom or Aggravate team and suddenly it detonates because some random pyro appeared out of nowhere, very little feels as terrible.
The best feeling burst in the game is Childe's ranged one against 2+ enemies. Wave deleater
Noel's burst having 5* level uptime definitely bumps it up for me
it also stays when you swap off of her, i wish more characters had that honestly
I think the same with Zajef. Using 4* characters' bursts doesn't feel a loss of dps at all regardless how much they actually contribute. Ones like Kazuha's, Nahida's, etc although maybe strong, ends up pretty bad to use.
Press Xingqiu's Q doesn't cost you anything. It can't snapshot, it has almost no dead time allowing you to press it any time but it's still one of the most powerful Bursts in the game.
100% Yelan and Yoimiya, their bursts just feels so damn good to use.
Beidou, Xiangling and Xingqui bursts are quick, simple and effective 👌

xiao is s tier for me, because when i can use my c6 it feels severely good, pure serotonin. and when i cant use the c6, its still s because the increased damage overtime is just satisfying
need that clip from xlices stream the other day with zaj in chat where he said "zajef, listen brother alright. i think you're a pretty poggers person and you have great knowledge, but when it comes to your subjective opinions i think they are utter fucking dogshit." and then they spent the next like three minutes arguing over which is better tuna or salmon
Also just wanna say, honorable mention to Nilou's burst as maybe the only burst where the long animation doesn't feel like a downside, because using it to apply hydro to a group of enemies actually maintains your team's DPS while also using the s to dodge enemy hits if necessary. The way it interacts with Nilou's other mechanics and the way that her teams play gives it a lot of extra points compared to others.

I'm playing my partner's account for her right now to grind some materials and she uses Collei and I was shocked how enjoyable it was.
Her skill too, even, dashing about to make it hit everyone.
Shame about the stupid mats to ascend her, or I'd probably use her more.
I think Furina's burst is similar to Ayato's, the i-frames end too early before the animation finishes
I feel like rosaria's burst problem doesn't matter if the enemy is frozen or if you're in bennet's ult in a melt team, and i don't think rosaria is used outside of those scenarios much
I play her in mono cryo but at that point she's got Layla's shield on her so it still kinda doesn't matter

Also I don't really love playing nahida because she is so short but I do believe her burst sometimes dodges attacks and that's saved me in abyss

Well you got your answer, xinqiu first but he moved one with basically 0 words, so half right.
All bursts dodge attacks with i-frames, but nahida’s feels bad because if the enemy attack is timed right as the animation ends, it’s basically guaranteed to hit you due to the animation end lag.

For the most part this list makes sense but then he punishes Yelan's tiny bit of burst animation for not being Xingqui as if you dont use them on the same team anyway, Rosaria's burst is easily more useful to her kit and team than Yoimiya's and YaoYao has a burst that you have to wait for everything to happen on screen to get the most out of it and you cant even switch without all the summons disappearing so it's arguable a tier lower.
The inconsistencies due to biases are insane:-
Ganyu burst:
feels really good in freeze teams, does DoT, can swap out, gives additional buffs, decent animation and time period, but not used in melt teams
"C Tier"
Zhongli burst:
Petrifies, cool animation but really long, loses DPS in most teams
"Top of B tier"
Neuvilette Burst:
Does initial dmg, basically only buffs, can switch out, long animation time but is cool
"C tier"
Xiao, Itto, Cyno Bursts:
Only buffs, does nothing else, can't switch out
"B Tier"
Hu Tao burst:
Loses DPS coz less CA
"A tier"
Venti burst:
Best in the game but only when facing Ventiable enemies, sometimes can't catch particles, ok animation
"S Tier"

my favorite thing to see in co-op is bennett sprinting into burst at the start of a domain, it just looks like he's there for something exciting
Fischl might actually be my favorite, it's so nice that you can either swap out super quickly or use it as mobility that costs no stamina.
You never have to wait for particles while on Fischl either, so she's just really, really smooth overal. (Assuming you have good Oz awareness)
Ganyu's burst does the same as Keqing where if you don't move, you have really long iframmes

I don't really like Yaoyaos' burst because the summons disappear as soon as you switch, it might be because I only use her in Nilou bloom tho
stop I just watched an animator rank star rail and genshin ults last night. I guess it’s like anticipation, pay off, etc that makes it all around good.
whenever i have zhongli in the team, i always use 5* bursts right next to it so the burst doesn't do the animation and change the camera perspective
Klee's Q feels nice in terms of it cancelling every of her animations, so it's an invincible tool you always have at your disposal
Neuvillete feels also nice, you can juggle the enemies with burst and the consequent charged attack, and it feels satisfying. Yelan's and Kazuha's also feel pretty satisfying to use, although Kazuha's can feel frustrating if you get applied an element in the s and you infuse that element instead of the one you want
There should be a setting/option to use a short version of bursts that are sooo long (elemental burst the movie, zl, exc.. )

plus taking control over player's camera control feels bad SPECIALLY when you are constantly spamming burst. I find myself sometimes trying to avoid it but getting close to walls or big enemies.
Yelans also has the coordianted e hit after that, which is very satisfying especially after c1. My opinion could be slightly tainted because i have c6 tho.

Well, my main team is Nahida, Ayato, Kuki, and Zhongli. I don't have an issue with any of their bursts but that might be because you can play the team with just their elemental skills and you basically burst in downtime. And with Zhongli, not really noticing any issues with Ayato lol.

Edit: B!? THE XINGQIU BIAS IS SHOWING THERE'S NO WAY CHONGYUN GOT PUT IN B! Seriously, it may not do much damage, but it's the most satisfying. Especially when he's on Noblesse and quickly followed by Kazuha VV for your set up. Xingqiu's just isn't that satisfying to me, the animation is among the WORST, even by the "faster is better" metric, because at least chongyun's animation has some weight to it. Very sad because chongyun is my boy :(
i just realized that casting xq's burst is like (fox) shine from ssbm. spans blue stuff around you, fast as shit, i-frames, and knocks enemies away. also broken af.

Is there a trick to make Amber's burst actually hit anything? It's solid when it works but so often I find she just drops it randomly somewhere on the ground and not on enemies.

I have literally never noticed Xingqiu's burst stagger enemies. I'm not saying I don't believe it, but that just has not ever been part of my gameplay, haha. To me his burst basically feels like nothing, neither good nor bad. I don't think I could even rank it.
the pyro gunners in 12-3-1 will stagger really bad if u burst before they shield (enough to ungroup if ur standing in the wrong place)

It would be cool to have a way to somehow community rate these based on Animation, How satisfying/impactful it is and How quirky the burst is (i.e Jean is quick, neat but turns your camera which is a bit annoying) and then average them together to see which characters would come out on top
Keqing is just so fun to play, I couldn't care less about how people consider her to not be a good unit. Being able to start attacking mid Burst or use it to is versatility that many characters don't have.

For some characters he doesn't even think and for some he goes on to write an essay
But it doesn’t enable anything. Amber burst can be used for vv setups or xingqiu double vape e. Kuki is only used in hyperbloom, so her burst does no damage and just triggers hyperbloom a bit faster, but it also takes time to use.
I adore Kuki but honestly I don't even bother with her burst most of the time unless there's a shield to break down.
You only use it for s, stop kidding.
Straight up I only use Kuki burst when I want a tick of healing on her without loafing around potentially getting clapped, and I levelled that thing to lvl 8 before dendro was even a thing.
Makes me wonder how the rankings would change if Genshin had a 2x speed option that you could toggle for burst animations like Star Rail.
In HSR they way to long, and even on 2x speed they so annoying. That's one of a reasons why I left the game after couple hours...

Typically forcing enemy movement is really good in games but since abyss is just a blank box it ends up being a dps loss. If abyss had more environments I bet that would be really interesting

So it wasn't just me that feels Mona's burst is clunky? What is it about her burst? I didn't realize dashing right after her burst could solve that clunkiness. My problem is I would always be unable to switch out or do anything a few seconds after that burst animation ends.. so it's really designed like that? 😱
I want to love Mona but everything about her feels clunky. The alternate sprint just messes up my rotation so constantly, I will never get used to it. Ayaka is almost as bad but at least you want her on field a bit more.

Yae's burst is the best to me. Animation is top tier and hearing those 3 lightning strikes makes me moist. Plus I don't mind her E animations.
