Step your moonshine up by using Amylase the next time you make some corn liquor with this easy to follow recipe. Anytime you use Amylase it makes your first run that much better before sour mashing.
If you need some high temp alpha and gluco amylase check out my buddies Moonshine Shua, and Prohibition 1920 at Broken Bones Distillery.

The bong rips had me cracking up! Thanks for sharing
This what I was looking for
Love your videos, great information. Shine on!!!
I also found that running corn on hulls through a chipper the hulls make a great nutrient for the corn... worked out great
I don’t care what anybody says, your shine is good as it gets! IMO
Another great video for educational purposes LOL
Great job bro, that shit confuses me so much. I’m still stuck thinking about what you did??? Well I will just watch it acouple more times back to back so I can figure it out for my self. Thank you so much for the video and all the hard work you all did and do each and every time you put on a video up on RUclips. Oh yeah I got my Philbilly Moonshine stickers acouple days ago. I forgot about it, but thank you very much guys. I appreciate everything that you guys are doing and for the people!!
Great video! I like how you explain the process.
The hi temp amylase n gluco works great..love it
Phenomenal video!
Have you did your blackout podcast with John mellor and it yet I didn't know if I missed it
love the video
Very cool, thank you man. Found your channel a few months back and appreciate your spin on things. Finally finished my keg still with a mile hi duel pro tower, upgraded from the football still. I have ideas to buy a mason gin basket setup from you i just want to swap it from the football still to the mile hi setup somehow..(2 different flanges of course). I have ideas just need the cash. Appreciate your webcast as well, it was a great idea. If you can have a spot on specific yeasts and what you guys use or suggest that would be pretty interesting. Anyway, thanks again, appreciate all you guys like George, Still it, Boarded, etc.. im just a guy in NY and have noone to get any apprenticeship from..
Thank you
Thanks for putting out these videos to help guys like me. I have a question that is a little off topic. I have a mash going with 30lbs of grain in 11 gallons of water. It is fermenting real good with bread yeast but I was wondering if I should stir it up after a couple days to allow the yeast to get to any sugars that might be hiding out underneath all that grain?
It will usually get the sugars with out any help but wither way is fine, if you want to stir it then it will not hurt anything.
now that is a beautiful still great job explaining the process and what the differences between the glucose and dextrose
There is no difference between dextrose and glucose, they're the same thing.
@@zberteoc sorry I probably miss heard what he was talking about lol but thank you for the correction to my mistake
@@garyhowery1981 no worries. I think you meant dextrin. I didn't know about it until this video.
I got to get one of those for real bro.
3:57 Is that the sound of PhilBilly’s whiskey wagon or was that the ice cream truck?
Gahhhh DERN son!!…when did you upgrade to that fkn spaceship!!? That’s beautiful …I havnt tuned in lately
What’s a good ratio of corn sugar and water for a 5 gallon mash? Also will feed cracked corn work?
2..5 lb per gallon works for me
Would have been nice if you had mentioned at what temp to add each of those.
The alpha con go in at anything under 190f the gluco goes in at room temp or anything under about 90f
you dont strain anything off? i always strain off as much solids as possible.
That's a pretty still. You really need to try some NAC though.
Grain takes a lot of space for sure!
We need to start calling you "Perfessor Philbilly." ("Professor Philbilly" for you wine snobs.)
You have some beautiful equipment for sure I hope my wife lets me do it.
Btw do you know where u can buy some corn liquor?
Grow a pair and stop asking your wife permission to be an adult.
I got a simple question. Can you use bubble plates and down comers together ? Also....do I need to run my column still like a pot still? For corn liquor
Malted barley extract would work?
What about the white powder amylase? Is it high temp or does it break down the dextrine?
Was watching you stirring that up saying to myself fuck that that pot going be a bitch to clean. Then you bust our water hose im like ooh 🤣
Ive been told by a candy chef that i should try invertase enzyme...is anyone familiar with using it in brewing?? He says its amazing at breaking down most starches and complex carbs to fructose.also being he's in the food business its fine for consumption he knows his shit i just dont want to ruin a mash over food versus alcohol production techniques. According to Him, I could get another up to fifteen percent of sugar after the analyze 😅 id love to get some feed back from other experienced brewers/distillers
Why not just use a malt
Wow, that still must cost like a house! :)
8:35 what is that white liquid you added?
Sugar
you never filtered the mash??? wont it scorch easier in the still??
No i never had a problem
If you think about it thats pretty damm smart. You dont lose a drop of liquid that way. You can also build a false bottom mesh in the bottom of your still so it easier to remove grains if you wanted to use them for sour mash.
I still don't really understand what the hell is going on...... I've never seen anybody use that amylase product before..
How much air is that total??
Water
20 gallons but about 5 of it stays in the corn
That thing is a little fkn Cadillac right there
I found a guy by us that sold me food grade orange barrels with screw on lids 58 gal for 20 each.... I bought 4 lol...
That’s all the steps .. lol
What’s up hold up hey how’s the big bad dog went high tech redneck shine on brother ha!!ha
