Sidders you made my day. I left my home Sittingbourne to live in St Lucia west indie’s in 1989. I know all the places in your Kent coast walk and you brought tears of joy and nostalgia to my eyes. Herne bay, Reculver, whitstable, Broadstairs, Ramsgate, Margate, Birchington etc all favorite places. In fact Hotel Continental whitstable was owned by my sisters , husband mother. The Crispins. So much I could chatter on about. I just thank you for making me so happy. I’m here in Beausejour, St Lucia in the Caribbean and seeing my old haunts after thirty five years!!! I left in 1989 and im now 58! This is the first time I’ve seen my territory in all that time! Sidders you have fans in the Caribbean darling. We love you.

Quick comment. I remember Murston church. There was always blessing of the pets once a year. It was as full of cats dogs horses Guinea pigs, hamsters, rabbits, I think that was st Francis of Assisi day. Back in the seventies. Above the church was a school. I am happy to see it’s been protected

Another great walk, thank you for sharing it, I have walked some of the Saxon Shore Way and more to do too. I too hate stinging nettles and I wouldn't have walked through them, you are brave doing so. It is a phobia as you say. Take care and stay safe, I look forward to your next walk.

You should have walked down the milton side and shown more of the creek and surrounding former brick works!

Been waiting for this instalment thanks Sidders! I used to fish at Elmley ferry as a kid and also the gravel lakes there. And dare I say swim as a teenager in those gravel pits, obviously not much fear or telling my parents. I always suspect that the saxon shore way at gas road by the nice house is kept unkempt to try and keep walkers away sadly. Milton Creek used to be one of the country's most populated places because of Mill discharge. That's probably why it smelt more healthy the further you moved away from it! Never could work out if that hill at 11.04 in the background is man made or not?

The big hill next to paper mill is all made up of old landfill surprisingly 👍

@@johnblake535 I am a Mudlark & research the history of the creek ha! A man told me on facebrook a while ago. 🙂 such a historic & interesting place the creek is.

@@Adam-Gates-Mudlark It has a lot of history. It was my playground in the 80's. The pollution was so bad then that if you threw a load of bricks into the mud when the tide was out then you could really stink the town out with the released gases!

@@johnblake535 Oh my gosh! Yuk!! I wished they sent boats down ☹️ it’s so silted up now :( some parts are fine (near the paper mill) - I’ve found some interesting things in that mud 🧐 I love the reserch as most things I find is from the Victorian George smeed brick making & the loyds paper industry. 🙂⚓️
