problem with the weeklies is the same as the plot, its mindless. in the barracks, doesnt matter how strong your pet is, easy still gets max points. no thinking, no planning, everyone just gets everything for nothing but even simpletons on the subreddit are starting to wake up
You are 100% correct. You need almost no investment to get 4 items that were 100m a few months ago. Wodf, thundersticks, TT, lev and grapes of wrath. A pet with 100 hp gets you the same plot points and rewards as someone with 10,000. I said many months ago, that eventually players will just expect free re-released items and will find something else to complain about. Going from the AMA, no one cared about the new prizes, they are mad AF about the bannings over pet trading. I briefly watched the AMA. I think it had 4 questions and we learned nothing important. awesome...
Counter argument, I'm a brand new player and the new daily systems and the new rotations have absolutely propelled me into getting my dream pets. I played as a kid at launch and getting NP was such a hassle. Now i sit at 8mil NP and its the most ive ever had. I could afford a halloween PB, a Darigan, i have a chomby and a hissi. All this was impossible back in the day. I'm sorry for the veterans but this is amazing for me. Also i currently like the daily plot grind. Its also allowed me to make NP with high price stamps and such allowing me to once again work towards increasing my pets training and looks. Neopets is neopets though, could be time for ya to take a small break before coming back.
Almost every new event, system or addition to neopets is extremely loopsided to benefitting new players. They struggle to create anything NEW, its just recycling older items to get new players into the game with the potential to buy NC. It all just seem short sighted and a money grab. You go from never having played the game to getting the best 1 turn freezer with the highest damage icons (thunder sticks), lev - a 100% healer in the battle dome, access to grapes of wrath and WODF with next to zero investment, planning or skill. All 4 of those items were over 100m+. Most of them lost 90% of their value. I am just frustrated they didnt create new items of the above that are 80% as good and made the plot short and fun. We are about 25% of they through the plot. Are you looking forward to 150+ more days of the same 4 battledome opponents and clicking essence. Its so much fun and super engaging...... There is essentially no advantage right now to have a 10,000 health pet vs 75 hp pet. You get the same rewards from the plot battledome prize and point wise. The plot is boring and is revealing nothing lore wise the community wanted to learn or explore. The plot is irrelevant to 90% of the player base and essentially exists for players to get access to the reward store. No one is like o wow what is nyx up 2! Oh wow the enemy invaded and then did nothing for 2 months. Its not interesting, fun or engaging. The issue is whether its good for the game as a whole, not just the poor, the rich, the casual, the resellers and whatnot.

When taking over an old IP toy have to try and make money to pay your workers that are trying to change the game, for better or for worse. The best option at the moment would be to get as many new players as possible. What is a better way to do that then to tey and get everyone on a much more even playing field. Have neopoints is great and value is a made up construct in this game. The neopian trade and shop market is build by rarity and undercutting the person who sells above you. By reintroduced older items and powerful items into the game it allows a shift in the market where they can prioritize monetization for cosmetic items while everything else in the game becomes substantially more obtainable. There are still very rare chase items and eventually they will change in marketable profits as well. Spend this time selling what you want to sell and holding what you want to keep. Value is in the eye of the beholder and unfortunately it seems many people see "bigger number under the item means more importance". Breaking the mentality that your value in a video game is centered around your gallery and NP value is how you could have more fun. It's a kids game based around cute pets and flash games. It was never meant to be more than that. There doesn't need to be a challenge and with enough time I'm sure they will find a way to give people one. I'm sorry that the changes upset you but as I have said many times, try to take on a new perspective to enjoy the game you love. If you can't find one then maybe it's time to move on to something new and more valuable for your time.

I had an older account that got frozen or banned (I didn't do anything lol) but the new TNT got me back in and it's been really nice to play it this past year and keep a nice pace in hitting my goals. I'm 28, I just don't have time to grind like others are talking about and I'd like to at least be able to enjoy the game.
My f!cking god, everything is going to be absolutely worthless if this keeps up..! Especially the P3’s.. And as you stated, by mindlessly releasing these items for daily and weekly prizes, they simultaneously invalidate existing games or dailies created for the long-term grind.. It just frustrates me so much.. I’m not losing money over this, but it’s just f!cking sad to see this continue.. The plot is burning me out to do the same crap every day with no challenge or real payoff, there’s almost no reason to do most dailies anymore because of the daily and weekly prize pools withholding the best items you can expect from them, there’s no reason to hoard or save for specific items because EVENTUALLY they’ll be released or worse, re-released sooner or later.. Like- some days I legitimately ask myself, what’s the point in even playing..?

I would like for there to be additions to the game that not just focus on re-releasing items..
Just finished watching the live on Facebook, and even my tapered expectations were dashed.. So- the 2024 Faerie Festival will feature Illusen and Jhudora, AGAIN, the charity corner gimmick will return, the prize shops will be the same as last year, with one or two new items, and of course, the “Free the Faeries” NC event will premier alongside it as last year.. I’m so over this, it’s like they’re actively trying to kill the game, while pumping out as much NC paraphernalia as possible.. PLEASE👏🏾MAKE👏🏾IT👏🏾STOP👏🏾
The transformation of neopets in the mobile app game is nearing its completion. They are not just going to recycle the items in the game... its also going to be the plot now and its going to be mirrored prizes and game play. Man thats pathetic. FML There is just is no challenge to the game. There are no goals worth going after as there are 0 rewards worth chasing. Nothing new or exciting is going on. I dont give a shit about nyx, the flying whale or the stupid connect 3 mobile app game. Everyday of neopets is like taking the school bus to school in the morning. Not only is nothing exciting happening, its cold as shit and its raining outside, so you wont even enjoy recess and lunch. Hopefully mom packed some good snacks.....

"Admit it, you believed a crypto-bro was going to make neopets good again" video. The community was like NO, STOP!!! I dont want to be handcuffed to the bed! I want to be choked with a belt. They want to give their money away for pixels but just not ones attached to crypto.

I am just thinking before I go record a video about the AMA from today as I am once again disppointed in TNT I dont like the bait and switch Dominic rolled out when he first took over. Presenting this notion of we are here to change and make things new and fresh, tell us what you wanted, we are going to be upfront, honest and transparent. Meanwhile in the 3rd or 4th AMA he just boldly and out right lied to us and said the botting issue has been essentially solved. The bot ruins so much of the game I hate botting so incredibly much. In these AMA's he gives non answers to the serious questions we want answers to. Oh we will look into it, it takes time to implement change, we we re-evaluate and look over things and all those other garbage bullshit. I have seen so many of my friends have all their achievement, time, effort and accomplishments get washed away. Countless hours of effort, trading, planning to get items, trades, or pet trades or finish a stamp collection or get to quest 50 form jhudora. For it all to become a laughable joke. And for what? So every new player can get access to grapes of wrath and Wodf when their pet has 45hp and 35 strength. If you werent here for the first 4-6 months of TNT Dominic era you missed the majority of casual and new players cheering and shitting on rich players and gleefully circlejerking each other and clapping that they were losing neopoints, having their pets forced converted or now having an avatar that they spent 50 hours and 200m when now it cost them 30 minutes and 5m. A few minor things. I dont see anyone else being critical of neopets which on some occasions pushes me to say something is bad. I dont take myself overly serious. I am just saying my opinion and my opinion its in the minority. Also the videos I make are simple and unedited. My editing is to pause and unpause as I record so its fast and easy. Also its okay to be a hater. Its also okay to be a defender of neopets who charges 14$ for 10 year old art.
