This guy is an amazing person not just because of his genius repurposing of every day stuff but because he has adopted Barney, a beautiful blind senior pup.
So many ingenious little ideas there...but the canvas was definitely my favorite too. The big pharmacy chains print photos on canvas (cheap if you watch for their half price deals), so you could use them as decoration as well as cabinet doors. Big thumbs up for adopting Barney too!😊❤
This guy is AWESOME! From the cookie sheet stove light, the painting cabinet door, and the spam cans haha. There have been some unique vans on this channel, but Scott's build takes the cake for me. Unique and clever.
im not even kidding but scott might be my hero lol. my grandfather passed away last year and he was the same way always using different materials to make things instead of just buying brand new. we have cabinets and storage made from old food containers and artwork. the day i get a van i hope its half as cool as this one
Wow! This man's brain works on a totally different level than the common man. He's either freaking brilliant or simply creative. I guess it's where the two meet. Like a Nomad Macgyver. And anybody willing to live in a former "Disaster Cleanup & Recovery Van" is just a real bad ass.
Best van build I've ever seen. This man is great at thinking outside of the box with his use of materials, and everything looks nice. Yes, the crate and canvas idea is genius.
This is officially my favorite build yet. I want one! And then, when he showed his beautiful dog he adopted, you know this is the guy you want as your best friend. ❤
What a treat to meet Scott and tour his rig. Love the color!💚 Definitely like the idea of using lightweight wooden crates and painter’s canvas as shelving. Also learned to use “S” shaped plumbing to connect sink to gray tank to prevent smells. Thanks for all the tips!
Award: "Best Non-Conventional Use of Materials". 9x13 baking pan for the kitchen fan, cookie sheet for the light over the stove, SPAM cans!, Crates & Canvas for cabinets, cedar fencing (lighter weight and less expensive than T&G), split solar system. Very useful tips: "S" trap, keep your diesel in the dark. Thank you to infinity and beyond!
What a fantastic man, adopting an elderly blind dog from a rescue. Much respect to him from here in the UK. Thank you. I also love his van build and the uniqueness of it.
Loved this van build!!!! You have a lot of great ideas. I really liked the canvas door idea and the tool chest idea, but you had many more ( like the cake pan to extend your wall. Amazing!! Thanks for sharing. I plan to use a lot of your ideas 💡when I build. 😊
People like this gentleman who know how to make things and who are creative are a joy. I love his vehicle and the size, but for myself an interior shower would be a must. that's for safety and security.
This build spoke to my soul. Thanks to my southern Appalachian roots given to me by my grandparents, I am the ultimate "make it do" person. This eclectic build uses the unexpected to make life simple and functional. I love it!
I like the pointers on the diesel bugs and the s curved piping in the sink, just to name a few. This is the kind of video that gets the wheels turning…🧠. Pun intended! 🚛
My uncle was always repurposing various items! Scott’s use of old belts, cavas paintings, the baking sheet is inspiring! However, just how he has continued to improve his living space shows a creativity! I will probably remember the color of his home the longest! Thank you both for this tour! Loved it!!
I love the lime green. When I got my shuttle in 2019 (before coronavirus) I wanted mine painted this color and up front at the top write “Got Corona?” Then virus hit and I figured I better not. lol. I love his cabinet idea too.
Awesome, great job. I might look at those canvas for doors. Awesome. Once I get down there maybe you can smoke some pork or beef for me too!! Good job Scott, I have been using wood that I used previously on other projects, sometimes 3rd or even 4th usage.
The canvas cabinet doors and the crates are very creative, functional and lightweight, perfect for that box truck.. Scott is very handy at tricking out his truck! and a great dog to go along with him..
Genius! Love the spam can idea! You could cover them with contact paper if you want to match your decor. The tool boxes for storage are a great idea. Love the way this comes together!
I like how he was just so matter of fact about it, nothing scary, very practical, he feels easy in this life - very cool. EXCELLENT tips & info throughout! (esp about the diesel bugs-yike).
Scott, you have ignited my creativity. Thank you. But mostly, we've taken in blind, deaf dogs at 'home' so why don't I have one to love and value me here? I'll start looking. Thanks again. :)
That is a seriously cute little dog. Good hearted man to adopt an older dog. I really like his storage solutions. Ice cream off the grid is living the dream😊
nice build! lol, dude knows what's up., a box van makes the *best* mobile tiny house platform...also, being cheap and different is way better than wasting money and being same-ol'-same-ol', respect.
My favourite part isn't even this supercool van but the owner - and his doggy, of course. All three of them unique in their own ways ;-) Yet, as you asked, in my POV inside the van everything is perfect, and full of excellent ideas. The canvas doors might balance the weight of the tool boxes, spam cans are good for everything, and so on - every detail is amazing, that whole build is a gem. What a unique, wonderful home, thanks for sharing!
I've got some good info on doing "box-truck" builds... When I think about a vehicle it needs to have at least 15" tires b/c the smaller ones have less clearances if you get off on a gravel road. Some of these trucks come w/ a large gate that flips up when traveling & it provides added security when it is up. It's all in your imagination & I TY for the video(s)........ peace & GB ALL
Spamtastic!! I love his creativity and dash of whimsy! I'm glad to know we're sharing space on this planet : ) And I especially love that he adopted an older dog....
This may be my FAVORITE build EVER. I loved every single thing he did!! And recycling old desk, buying SPAM, eating it and using the containers….so many wonderful things.
He adopted an elderly blind dog - that is the sweetest thing ever ❤. Really like the unique build ideas for the van.
Thanks for giving Barny a sweet soft place to live out his life. You're a hero for him.
I have a blind dog as well. Barney looks so comfortable and acclimated to his new surroundings. Happy he's got a great life!
He's a happy dog!
This guy is an amazing person not just because of his genius repurposing of every day stuff but because he has adopted Barney, a beautiful blind senior pup.
I think Scott just started a trend with those canvas cabinet doors. What an excellent idea!!!
Exactly!, for me, weightless is a huge plus, & the canvas can be painted or whatever!
I loved that idea and will use it and many of Scotts ideas, love the tool box cabinets for storage (that's far out) when I begin my build in a CT.
that was my fav part, as well. i think i’ll call them “scott cabinets”.
So many ingenious little ideas there...but the canvas was definitely my favorite too. The big pharmacy chains print photos on canvas (cheap if you watch for their half price deals), so you could use them as decoration as well as cabinet doors. Big thumbs up for adopting Barney too!😊❤

Totally brilliant ❤🇬🇧
This. May loving, fun, fond memories of your grandfather comfort and motivate you. 🥺❤🙏

Hi
Great and unique build!! What a great man to adopt an older handicapped dog!
This guy really knows how to think outside the box!! Love his rig!!✌🏻💕
This guy’s the GOAT! and that little doggo won my heart over in a nanosecond!
We love Scott and Barney.. spent a good amount of time with him in Durango. Best Man and dog Duo ever
Scott is the friend and neighbor we all need.
This guy is incredible. Not only was it cheap but unique and looked amazing. I love the belt holders and canvas doors.
Love this! I am all about repurpose, reuse. As the Marines say, Improvise, overcome and adapt!
Agree - And my grandma taught me "Use it up, wear it out, make it do, do without".
Yes!!!

Best van build I've ever seen. This man is great at thinking outside of the box with his use of materials, and everything looks nice. Yes, the crate and canvas idea is genius.
Agree and it's immaculate as well
Highly creative guy…his green truck looks very comfortable. I would buy this rig in a second.
Glad Macgyver is enjoying his retirement.
Cheap But Brilliant describes this very nice van. This man is indeed brilliant too & well spoken. Enjoyable video!
A really nice and generous guy with a kind heart. He makes the world a better place.
He's an inventor. Genious
Bless this man for adopting that precious pup ❤
That's amazing. This guy's living the great life peacefully and free. No bills, no rent, wow, anybody would trade this for this life in the city.❤
Little Barney is very confident and happy playing around on the bed❤❤❤time spent with your dog is time well spent!!!
The best thing was the precious little dog.❤
We were in the same camp! He’s such a nice guy….And Rig 👍🏼
This is officially my favorite build yet. I want one! And then, when he showed his beautiful dog he adopted, you know this is the guy you want as your best friend. ❤
I've been contemplating a box truck on/off for a few years now, and really like what this gentleman has done with his. Many good ideas here.
Brilliant! Creative! Your doggy is so adorable
Best rig I’ve seen! Good bang for the buck! It’s comfortable, inviting and warm.. like the owner! 👍👍
Scott is the man you want to camp next to😁
The slated crates and canvas pictures was genius.

I loved the cabinets with framed canvas for doors. That was genius.
What a fantastic man, adopting an elderly blind dog from a rescue. Much respect to him from here in the UK. Thank you. I also love his van build and the uniqueness of it.
The 2 battery setups help the problem of matching the battery types or brands when you want to upgrade
And if one system fails you have plan B
I really like this style of both van and personality you can tell he is a problem solver.
I loved the Harbor Freight tool boxes, I think I might do that also
Whimsical and practical. Very nice build. Go Blue!
Is that Wilford Brimleys son? Kidding. Nice build
I don’t call it cheapskate, I call it ‘make-do’! Just love this stuff❤
The tool chest for storage is genius
He got the money from a friend & then ghosted the person
Things are not always what they seem
Loved this van build!!!! You have a lot of great ideas. I really liked the canvas door idea and the tool chest idea, but you had many more ( like the cake pan to extend your wall. Amazing!! Thanks for sharing. I plan to use a lot of your ideas 💡when I build. 😊
My favorite by a landslide! Every part was ingenious!
People like this gentleman who know how to make things and who are creative are a joy. I love his vehicle and the size, but for myself an interior shower would be a must. that's for safety and security.
Shower curtain hangs from hooks in the ceiling collapsible dog pool and rechargeable camp shower
Sweet dog....he's a happy camper!🐶
Canvas ideas were great. And his dog is the cutest.
Love this interview. Very cool practical and creative guy.
Such a nice guy! Super cute pup 🥰 I love his set up! Very homey! Thank you for sharing with us all. Stay blessed and safe 💚
Hey Scott…..it finally made it! My van had a cameo appearance in your debut😂
He build the canvas cabinets just like I did in my laundry room - But I used Velcro and now I will switch to the magnets for closure.
That's what my grandparents called recycling.
That is one of the coolest, most practical builds I've seen - Very proud to be a fellow Michigander! Wish I could improvise as well as Scott does! lol
This build spoke to my soul. Thanks to my southern Appalachian roots given to me by my grandparents, I am the ultimate "make it do" person. This eclectic build uses the unexpected to make life simple and functional. I love it!
crate canvas cabinets I liked. But he has many great things he made
I like the pointers on the diesel bugs and the s curved piping in the sink, just to name a few. This is the kind of video that gets the wheels turning…🧠. Pun intended! 🚛
Scott is so smart in his use of inexpensive useful items in his build!
I really love how he thinks outside the box! Who would have thought of using dog collars like that?! Brilliant!
Barney is adorable! Rescued senior special needs dogs are the best!
I did the same thing with the yukon toolbox as my kitchen 😁 was a game changer for me ❤️❤️❤️
Good to know about that trap in the gray tank drain! Lots of good ideas and info.
My uncle was always repurposing various items! Scott’s use of old belts, cavas paintings, the baking sheet is inspiring! However, just how he has continued to improve his living space shows a creativity! I will probably remember the color of his home the longest! Thank you both for this tour! Loved it!!
I use filing cabinets for canned goods too!
Love the build. The canvas doors are brilliant!
I love the lime green. When I got my shuttle in 2019 (before coronavirus) I wanted mine painted this color and up front at the top write “Got Corona?” Then virus hit and I figured I better not. lol. I love his cabinet idea too.

Hi Scott !!!!
Hi Angela
Awesome, great job. I might look at those canvas for doors. Awesome. Once I get down there maybe you can smoke some pork or beef for me too!! Good job Scott, I have been using wood that I used previously on other projects, sometimes 3rd or even 4th usage.
Good creativity. Necessity is the mother of invention. (And always, form follows function!)
The canvas cabinet doors and the crates are very creative, functional and lightweight, perfect for that box truck.. Scott is very handy at tricking out his truck! and a great dog to go along with him..
Interesting configuration inside, thanks
Genius! Love the spam can idea! You could cover them with contact paper if you want to match your decor. The tool boxes for storage are a great idea. Love the way this comes together!
this is great - I grew up poor and it is amazing what you can do if you think about it. Using tool boxes is a great idea.
I like how he was just so matter of fact about it, nothing scary, very practical, he feels easy in this life - very cool. EXCELLENT tips & info throughout! (esp about the diesel bugs-yike).
VERY COOL HACKS…I thought the artist canvas/wooden cubes were ingenius👏🏻🤩

That is a seriously cute little dog. Good hearted man to adopt an older dog. I really like his storage solutions. Ice cream off the grid is living the dream😊
Turkey Spam! Yes!
I love this guy
Great build.
My favorite part was the low cost!
Question: what kind of mileage do you get and how sound is the engine and transmission?
14 on the highway
Runs good
Just love love the canvasses as doors.
He looks and sounds like Wilford Brimley
I love his build and all his innovative, cheap ideas. And his little rescue puppy.
Now this guy is thinking! I love it!!!
Absolutely love it!
Man if you guys need a voice over guy for Bob, this is your guy!
What an incredibly creative van! I live in a house and I was taking notes throughout the video on things that I'm going to try out!
Bless him for adopting the pup.
nice build! lol, dude knows what's up., a box van makes the *best* mobile tiny house platform...also, being cheap and different is way better than wasting money and being same-ol'-same-ol', respect.
Been a while since I've seen such a resourcefully creative person...thank you !

An amazing man in many ways. And this video was great! So much creativity and inspiration.
Great video. So happy for him - he’s living his dream in a very cozy and well thought “home”.
You seem so kind Scott and Barney definitely is the best. Happy travels from England😊
Spamtastic!! I love his creativity and dash of whimsy! I'm glad to know we're sharing space on this planet : ) And I especially love that he adopted an older dog....
