Furthermore she blew up at Daniel because, strategically, it was safer to do so from a relationship perspective. Especially if she made sure Daniel was only around certain people when she did it. This further supports the idea that she behaves the way she believes to cure her narcissistic injuries.

There’s people busting their asses, whether doing office work or warehouse work or working retail/restaurant jobs, getting a fraction of what she was paid, barely making ends meet, barely putting food on the table, and she’s complaining because she was paid to literally just sit around and look pretty. The thing is, that’s literally how sets in America are! Typical days are 10-12 hours, with at least one meal provided, a second meal if they call for grace too much. And MAYBE some sets will provide breakfast. Other than that if you’re hungry you go to crafty, which is… snacks.
The absolute audacity of Gabbie Hanna crying about Ricegum breaking her phone and calling it assault, but Curtis sexually assaulting Jessi is questionable and debatable if "they were actually in a relationship" and he's a HUMAN BEING, poor him, deserving to have his side heard. Does she not see the hipocrisy? Are we supposed to feel bad for her phone being broken but she has ZERO empathy for Jessi's trauma and tries to shut her up while she feels the need to continually bring it up and talk about it in detail because Gabbie feels she's somehow the victim in that situation?? I had to break up with my best friend recently because they did something similar. The lengths people will go to, to not have to deal with abuse they know you suffered (with mine the person saw me being beaten up badly and Then went to their wedding a year later like... WHAT?!?) because even when the trauma is yours alone it’s also somehow theirs in their head. Basically self obsessed assholes like her make trauma horrifying.
i said this exactly on one of her videos. it’s amazing how multiple people can look at the situations and see the hypocrisy, but she can’t grasp it and still goes on with her “poor me” mentality instead of apologizing. i think jessi hit the nail on the head with gabbie not admitting to anything unless it’s shoved in her face and forced to address it. that and she generally lacks any self-awareness.

Can I admit that there’s some things GH is right about? Absolutely. Ricegum was in the wrong, 100%. Angelika shouldn’t have overdramatized the Bianca situation, 100%. Trisha contradicts herself with GH a lot- not brand new info, no one should be shocked, Trisha isn’t a reliable source. But the Jessi thing flat out sucks. All she had to do was own up to it and apologize- no excuses, no explanations, just apologies. Then she could have moved on, filtered out words like “R” in her comments, and been fine. That podcast she recorded last summer was a bad idea.

she was literally in the right (IMO) at the start of this situation. Drama channels definitely blew what she did out of proportion, but her demanding apologies of the tea channels when the Devins family said they don’t want public apologies, that they just want their loved one to be remembered positively and for people to help pass the law in her name, was ridiculous and it dragged the family through an even bigger mess in what was already a tragic and messy situation.

Personality disorders are notoriously hard to diagnose. Somehow, I feel like Gabbie is the least qualified to recognize what is and is not narcissistic abuse. I broke the cycle of narcissistic personalities and behaviors in my family and even then I hesitate to definitively call someone a narcissist. It's a very big, very heavy label to assign.
@@deathrays ADHD person who used to smoke here, can confirm. I was a mega spaz when I was baked and had a tolerance like no other. I'd smoke and go do something. I haven't done them both at once, but it was like the weed slowed me down enough to "think single-threaded" rather than multithreading if that makes sense. Adderall is like that but without the inebriation. Attention span ⬆️
I have ADHD, OCD and a few other disorders and I can't blame all my wrong doing on same. It's called adulting. She has absolutely no self awareness and lost all touch with reality.

as somebody who is neuro-divergent, the phrase “it explains it, but doesn’t excuse it” changed my life. her behavior, although (possibly) being explained by her disorders, she still did it and should hold herself accountable.
An explanation only becomes an excuse when it isn’t followed by apologies and an active effort to manage it in a way that doesn’t negatively impact those around you. She states her ADHD causes these certain things but doesn’t apologize and doesn’t say “I’ll try to work on that so I don’t do it to people anymore.”
Yup. I have a bunch of issues and trauma and while they often explain why I sometimes behave badly, they don't absolve me of responsibility for hurting others.

I use this phrase too to acknowledge that I am in fact allowed to feel hurt or angry when a neurodivergent person, like I am one myself, acts in a hurtful way. Yes we have more struggles but if you are doing nothing to do better and instead use your diagnosis as an excuse every step of the way that you are just a shitty person. Neurodivergent people can be shitty people to, same for everyone else.

The saddest part for me is that they made a point that if you want to be upset about something, be upset about Facebook and instagram for letting people share pictures of their loved one’s murder. And I’ve heard maybe two people ever talk about that??
What is even crazier is the fact that the clip that you showed of Gabbie saying that she wouldn't tag the person (Oscar), she actually tagged him, like it's really small, but this one, is on her teeth the tag. It's insane!

Gabbie would not survive on a set that wasn’t run by her “friends”. Most sets are fairly flexible with talent but there are requirements. The hours are almost always insane. That’s just how film sets work. An 8-9 hour day is actually fairly short in the film industry. And the other talent would not be going out to get you special food. It would be a running PA if they sent anyone. But usually your options are fill out the form or suck it up. Film sets are always insane. It’s a hard job. You have to be flexible. As someone in the film industry, I’ve heard of specific talent or directors that people dread working with because of a lack of professionalism or them being a diva. It always gets around.
That above all else is what pissed me off about her video on the ETN season 4 drama. I didn’t like Joey’s response because he came across as disingenuous and hearted comments from drama channels- which I find quite sus. But I’ve got a friend who works behind the scenes in the biz; she said there’s a certain pecking order in the biz, and social media influencers are *not* on the same level as A-listers. If you are just a social media influencer and act like a diva, it won’t go over well because you didn’t earn the respect to act like one. Clout can only get you so far, because if people refuse to work with you, then you become a problem child nobody will touch… and your clout goes bye-bye. How many aspiring actors who follow Gabbie are going to see her video and think this is okay?

This is all a hot mess, but my immediate thought (as someone who has a strict diet from Crohn's Disease) is to ALWAYS bring your own food. Agree, my friend has it and he always takes preparations when we do like gatherings or anything, he brings his own stuff. She wants to be catered to her disease and even if they try she's ready with "nope, this is all wrong" when its not a job they should be doing in the first place.
Well yeah but also if she has an eating disorder providing food that she eats in her disorder is just enabling her to get worse. Especially when her only allergy was the metals. I recovered from horrible anorexia it took me two years to get better and this is just some things I learned from the mental health professionals at the facility I attended. She has a long way to go but I hope and pray she gets well and finds happiness bc truly this has to be deeper issues for her than just being mean.
YEP. As someone with ADHD I understand where some of her behavior comes from, but it DOES NOT excuse it. Like many others, I have worked very hard to cope with Rejection Sensitivity and other symptoms of ADHD. Gabbie obviously suffers from this, but she doesn’t seem to want to be responsible for her own reactions outside of just bringing up her diagnosis
Gabby puts so much emphasis on how "sensitive and fragile" she is as an excuse for her awful behavior. If all you do is tell yourself the same thing over and over your brain is gonna believe it as fact. She doesn't want to do better
I am pretty much just like her in how sensitive and upset I can get. But not holding yourself accountable for hurting people is just shitty. I could empathise with her, right up until she's being file to other people because of it.
I feel like she's just trying very hard to convince herself (and sometimes others) by repetition, except the patterns seen from an outsider's eyes tend to be, uh, something else.
@@FairyFluffy Me too! Extreme sensitivity is often accompanied by a strong sense of empathy. It's hard to look past your own pain to see how others can be feeling, but it needs to be done. So when Gabbie is hurting, I can empathize with her, but when she hurts others, she doesn't give empathy to them. It's like she expects empathy from everyone, but doesn't have the decency to give it back to them. Even if her mental health conditions cause a lack of empathy, she can still learn to understand the concept of it. It's hard to feel sorry for someone when they seem so emotionally demanding yet are unwilling to give others the same decency they expect. It seems like she feels entitled to unconditional kindness, sensitivity, empathy, and understanding from everyone, yet feels no obligation to return any form of those sentiments when people ask for it. It's all take and no give with her, which is hard to support even if that person is justified in their pain.

Can Gabbie and other people STOP throwing around words like "narcissistic", "abusive" and "gaslighting", it's really incredibly fucking insulting to people like myself who have experience *actual* narcissistic abuse and gaslighting from a very young age. Daniel's video about gabbie is the best thing ever. Boi came with receipts and transcripts and footage and prepared for battle and then he won the war. Yeah.. I was a victim of serious long-term physical and mental abuse, and honestly, every time I hear Gabbie say that she's being "abused" or that someone is "abusive", it makes my fcking blood boil like it absolutely infuriates me. I am very much in the stance that if I wasn't there, I'm not going to judge.. however at this point she has said it SO frequently and about so many different people and situations that I feel fairly comfortable saying that she is full of sht. I agree that the Gabbie Hanna & Bianca Devins drama was blown out of proportion. People did have an issue with it, and Gabbie apologized for it. But Gabbie Hanna also kept bringing up this issue and started blaming tea channels for everything and screamed “MURDERED CHILD” and “DEAD BODY” multiple times was an issue. Gabbie also demanded apologies from tea channels afterwards.
I didn’t think she exploited the kid in the first place, but at this point she definitely has. She manipulated this entire situation, invoked the victim’s name, and contacted the family so that she could demand an apology for herself. What a lunatic.

I have adhd and there are various levels of what people can face. Imagine having severe adhd and having the world watching your every move, guys abusing you in public and people harassing you saying its ignorant or for show. how many people with severe adhd can even handle the abuse she faces and still remain successful? you all may have a reason to be upset but telling someone their mental illness doesn't create severe trauma daily in her life shows the hypocrisy of the internet world. laughing at people struggling is not okay.

I did some googling and apparently trolls were sending her photos of her daughter.. ya know. After that monster hurt her. As someone who is also neurodivergent, her blaming adhd is completely invalid. She is actually making the stigma around these conditions a lot worse. She’s just trying to use it as a shield so she can call people who criticize her ableist which is so messed up
That's how I feel about this too. Yes her having ADHD or whatever maybe explains some things but she is also an adult and aware of her issues and she can work on not reacting like this immediately anymore. ADHD doesn't mean you can't learn how to deal with difficulties better in the future. It's hard, so fucking hard to change but it's possible and many many people do this because they don't want to hurt people and themselves all the damn time.
Could you imagine if I went into work and acted the way she did and then I turned around and said it’s because of my adhd and then if they fired me for my ridiculous behavior/ not doing my job I said “that’s ableism.” She’s so beyond reality.

The thing that kills me about the Escape The Night situation was that SHE made it public. She says they publicly behind the scenes said things. As in they talked to their friends? Prior to her making all these claims I literally had never heard anything about it, and then I watched Joey and Daniel and they were so composed and debunked so much of what she said it's like...she made herself look real dumb in that scenario for no reason

Some actual psychologists are some of the worst, most manipulative people. Having a degree does not guarantee quality of character. She also seems to think other people are super dumb and impressed by her throwing around relatively simple psychological concepts.

I think why everyone got so mad with the Bianca thing in the beginning was because (please someone correct me if I am mistaken) the family had said they didn't want their deceased loved one's death photo online (which is 100% understandable) which then just turned into the narrative of they didn't want Bianca's photos online. Still I agree with you that the hate was unreasonable at that time. BUT then Gabbie in her 12 part series says the family wanted a public apology from all drama channels (which the family did NOT want) and Gabbie was still using this deceased girl as a way for Gabbie to gain sympathy. Which in my opinion is very fucked up. Gabbie weaponized a deceased girl and her family to defend herself when she shouldn't have mentioned that at all because the family didn't want that.
What I had heard was that the first people who kicked up a fuss about the video were her friends, which is understandable, you’re watching a random RUclips video and then all of a sudden an article talking about your deceased friend’s murder pops up on the screen, and all the youtuber has to say about it is “oH cUtE sHiRt” before moving on and not even touching on the obvious, aka the article’s contents. I’ve never been in the situation the friends were in, but I’m pretty sure I’d be at least a little taken aback and upset. So they started speaking up in the comments, simply asking Gabbie to remove that part of the video ASAP, other people caught wind and started amplifying their voices, then it reached drama channels but it had gone through such a round of telephone that the original message of concern was lost. Meanwhile Gabbie ignored it for like two weeks, and then finally tried to sneak in and do a slap-dash editing job to blur it (but only ended up bluring part of the photo, the rest was there as well as the article’s contents), and then made a video apologizing a few days later. The original situation was basically a non-issue, if Gabbie had just removed that part when she started seeing comments or videos about it-or hell, if her and her editor had paid a bit more attention to the screenrecording she included of the stuff she was looking up-everything would have blown over, but it’s her waiting until it blew up into a huge unignorable thing, combined with her low effort editing job that made it seem like she didn’t really care and just wanted it to blow over, that really sealed the deal.

The real issue of this situation is that Kim Devins said that she wanted drama channels to apologize to Gabbie, not to the family directly. Gabbie absolutely did not make this clear. But regardless, this was a stupid video to make, because even if they had understood what was going on, of fucking course the drama channels won’t apologize to you Gabbie, they’re too stuck in their ways. So basically what you did was put Kim in a position where her daughter’s name is being circulated and used for clout AGAIN, for a cause that was doomed to fail from the start. On top of it, Kim is being used as a middle man by both GH and drama channels to “ok” their behavior, which IMO isn’t acceptable, just leave the damn woman alone. However, while GH absolutely is at fault for not preparing the family for the fall-out of her series, that doesn’t mean drama channels shouldn’t take down their old videos and apologize to Gabbie, since Kim believes that she is owed one. They talk mad game about people who “can’t take criticism,” and then they themselves are stuck in their own ways. It’s quite hypocritical.
Plus the screen shots Gabbie uploaded onto her own Twitter, she was outright lying to Kim Devin's (the mom) saying that Drama channels are the to this day using her daughters photo for videos against Gabbie and that wasn't true. So Kim thought those channels should apologize to Gabbie, of course she did. She was lied to. We really gotta ask, what type of person can lie to a greiving mother in order to gain sympathy and compassion from her. It's incredibly sad.

She only 'apologized' when she got more backlash for not addressing it and at that point any apology feels more like "I'm sorry I got caught" than a "I'm sorry I did this and didn't properly address it". For some reason this and the ricegum incident are getting boiled down to 'Gabbie's side' and everything else that shows her incorrect actions is getting thrown out. For instance the timing of the video, the reason she got called out twice and the connection to the other girl, Gabbie's multiple stories from the ricegum incident (he hit her, he pinned her down, he scratched her chest/shoulder area and smashed her phone) her story changed with each telling for a while in the mean time even when rice gum addressed it in 2019 his story is the same as the day after it happened. So why is it getting retold like this? Like why are we letting Gabbie Hanna rewrite why she was called out about the video on BD? As well as what happened with rice gum? She lied multiple times about being assaulted and we're still taking her word partially on the incident?
She's also blaming them for something that was happening long before this whole episode started. People were sending graphic photos of Bianca's murder to her family long before drama channels started making videos about Gabbie's mishap. It's insane that she's blaming them for that.

As someone who has been though psychological abuse, one of the phrases that triggers a painful emotion for me is "It's not always about you" even if its to joke at me. My step mom said this phrase to me all the time to bring me down and keep me scared. If someone says that to me, I don't go insane, I simply say "Hey my abuser said this to me, can you please avoid saying this phrase to me please? It triggers me and brings back old trauma". My ex loved to say this phrase to me even knowing its triggering. He liked to see me become upset and have anxiety.
Every time I hear her scream that she wants attention, I get triggered SO BAD. My mom used to do the that to my siblings and myself to get a reaction from us. NOT OK. THAT is "narcissistic abuse"

It can be a real battle to stand your ground, even in situations that don't involve that person, and boundaries have always been something I've struggled with. I am extremely grateful that I've been able to cut my mom out of my life, although I still hear about her here and there, it's nothing compared to being being there when it happens. Although it's been a couple years, I'm still working on those boundaries and trying to heal, it's coming a little at a time. For the Bianca Devins situation I feel like people were more upset that she glossed over what happened to her NOT the fact that she complimented her. For a lot of people when you Gloss over a tragedy like this it makes it seem like what happened to her didn’t matter and she was just a cute e-girl when there is more to her story than just being attractive. It's crazy to me that Gabbie is saying she's being medicated for ADHD and still openly drinking and smoking in her videos. I love marijuana - I recently got an ADHD diagnosis and medication for it. Any provider will warn against smoking while medicated for ADHD with a drug like adderall. She's spreading dangerous shit with her actions.
My doctor didn’t advise against it at all when I first started concerta. Everything in moderation. You don’t know what med or what dose she’s on and you could smoke in the evening the life of your med isn’t that long. Irrelevant but still.
To be fair I take Adderall as well. I don’t take it every single day and on the days I don’t are the days I’ll drink or smoke. Or if I take it early in the morning I know it will ware off later in the evening so it would be okay to drink or smoke at that time. I have more than one diagnosis and use edibles to medicate which is common for people with various mental illnesses. It’s not just used recreationally and is just as important in someone’s treatment as an over the counter med. So I don’t think what she’s doing is necessarily dangerous when we don’t know what medication she’s taking, how often, and how she personally reacts to it. It would be an issue if she literally was telling people it’s okay to take the meds and drink/smoke or offering medical advice on that subject. But without intimate knowledge of her medication we can’t say what she’s doing is dangerous or promoting dangerous behavior.

It’s funny that you were pointing out Angelica during the Bianca Devens video but she actually did make a retraction and acknowledged that since the mother said she wasn’t offended that she wasn’t gonna make videos on it anymore. She didn’t talk about the situation ever again after that.
Angelika has also talked about how she has felt bad for Gabby Hanna and that she didn’t want to talk about her anymore because she didn’t want it to affect her mental health. It wasn’t until Gabbie Hanna came out and said that she was trolling by acting crazy on her Patreon that Angelika decided to start talking about her again.
I wish this comment had more likes; Repzion didn’t seem to mention that Angelika DID privately reach out to Mrs. Devins and apologize, and Mrs. Devins responded saying she didn’t even know who Angelika was, had never heard of her or seen her content, and that the apology was appreciated but not necessary.. in that same conversation, Mrs. Devins said she had wanted the “drama channels” to apologize to Gabbie because of the things Gabbie was telling her. Gabbie got really mad after finding out Angelika was talking to Mrs. Devins, too, which I’m assuming is because she wanted to be the only one Mrs. Devins took information from about this situation. Which indicates Gabbie wasn’t being honest with Mrs. Devins.
Gabbie really thought she made an expose video about Escape the Nightmare. All she did was make a video to Hollywood about why she should never be hired. Too demanding. Overdramatic. Impossible to work with. And the sad part is that she doesn't see it. She legitimately thinks she in the right. It's astonishing really.
Yep. All she did was complain about things that happen on every single set and admit she can’t handle that at all. Like early call times, sitting around and waiting for hours (sometimes in full costume and makeup), shifting and changing daily schedules, etc is normal in any kind of film production. The biggest actors in the world still have to sit around and wait on a set or have to deal with being uncomfortable. She talks about it like she was personally targeted and put through these things and no one else has to ever deal with it. Her explanation could’ve been summed up with “I can never work as an actor/talent in a major production cause I can’t handle what that job description entails.”
FINALLY someone commenting HONESTLY about the Bianca issue. I do not like Gabbie. There is very little I will defend Gabbie about. But the Ricegum and Bianca dramas are probably the only 2 things where I feel Gabbie deserves defending. She screwed up within those dramas and took things too far… but the onset of the issue definitely was not fair to her.
And those were EARLY dramas…. I think that when she apologized to Jessi Smiles, she meant it. But then these things happened, and she got called out for the r*pe apologist thing again, she decided if the internet got it wrong with the Ricegum and Bianca situations, then maybe she wasn’t wrong about Jessi Smiles either and then she got obsessed with it.
And mostly right about Trisha Paytas. That too. So 3 situations, all three where she WAS manipulated and abused in different ways, and she just decided the internet can never be right about her, therefore anything the internet calls her out for is automatically not something she should be called out for. I see this as an interesting social commentary, about how the internet can CREATE a monster where constant false criticism can create a person who cannot see grey areas, sees that everything revolves around them and they’re always right, or how people can have valid and invalid points simultaneously because they’re human.
I'm neurodivergent and I've had plenty of crappy people do crappy things to me, but I've learned to understand when I'm right and justified in my own actions and feelings. Self-justification/self-validation is far more comforting than an apology form a crappy person. Here are some bluntly-stated things I've learned that have helped me heal from my trauma: - Sometimes you can feel hurt even if you're hurting someone else at the same time. - Sometimes others can feel hurt even if they're hurting you at the same time. - Not a single person on this planet is obligated to apologize to you even if they hurt you. - You are not entitled to special treatment from anyone else simply due to neurodivergence, past trauma, or emotional sensitivity. Others may choose to treat you differently due to these things, but you are not entitled to special treatment for them, except in cases of disability, etc. - Learn to let go of the need for an apology. - Learn to validate your own feelings, behaviors, and actions instead of relying on others to do so. - When you rely on others to validate your existence, its ends up making you feel victimized by everything and making you act abusively in the end. - Constantly relying on others to validate you ends up hurting others and yourself. - Last but not least, sometimes people just suck and you can't change that. Since i learned these things, life has been much more peaceful and much less painful.
If I was told, almost daily, by separate people with zero connection, that I was snapping unpleasantly at everyone... No matter if agreed or legitimately realized that's how I was acting, _that's how EVERYONE sees it._ That makes it valid, whether I believe it or not.
Did anyone else notice, while discussing escape the night and blaming ADHD, she was rocking back and forth while simultaneously throwing up screen shots of ADHD and ADD? I have never seen her rock back and forth like that...in face I went back and watched some videos and she actually seems able both in past videos and more recent ones to sit and not to rock like that. Tell me she wasn't attempting to hammer home a point by acting like her ADHD is worse than it actually is....I'm sorry but I find that so disgraceful, disingenuous and disgusting!
YES! Absolutely. That's all I could think about throughout her video clips. It's manipulative in my opinion, to her audience, by trying to exaggerate her symptoms. There are also several parts in her video where she is NOT rocking back and forth when she is talking about something other than her ADHD and putting up screenshots of her old text conversations.

ADHD can come with a pathological lack of self-control, which does complicate that. It can reach the point where your conscious mind isn't really in the driver's seat. Instead, the little voice that whispers for you to do stupid shit is. You end up doing things most of you doesn't want to, because a tiny part of you finds it amusing. It's a terrifying experience. Which is why you get treatment.

Yeah I described this in a comment on another video as them “nipping a pattern in the bud before it has the chance of becoming a pattern”. How many youtubers on this platform have we had that exploit people’s deaths in some form or another? The last thing we need is another one, which I think was part of the drama channels’ motive for speaking up about this. Gabbie has shown a pattern of toeing the line, slowly inching closer and closer towards something while judging people’s reactions so she can jump away the second she gets backlash, hell, that’s basically how her music career started, she dabbled here and there, making jokes about herself singing or including a clip of her singing in a tweet or vlog, before finally releasing her first song out loud as promotional material for her book, and the good reception from that has led to the obnoxious “I’m the next Freddie Mercury” attitude we have from her today. The drama channels had no idea if she was using this situation as a stepping stone to push the line further and further until she’s, like, doing songs and music videos about murder victims, or some shit like that, so considering her previous history with exploiting a deceased classmate for views (a classmate she didn’t even know or share classes with, to boot), might as well stop her in her place now before she does worse, right?

In the worst years of my ED, I was super specific with my food (for example, I had to count how many cherries or chicken strips I would eat for lunch), so when I was going to work or somewhere else I always had my weird lunchbox with me. I had many situations when free meals were available, but I never knew if there will be something I “needed”, so taking care of my food myself was the best option. It’s awful how Gabbie involved everybody in her ED situation in all the wrong ways.

As a neurodivergent person (autism, ADHD, & dyscalculia), it deeply, deeply upsets me when people -- especially those with a platform -- try to use their neurodivergency as an excuse to treat people poorly and blatantly lie. Personality disorders are notoriously hard to diagnose. Somehow, I feel like Gabbie is the least qualified to recognize what is and is not narcissistic abuse.
I broke the cycle of narcissistic personalities and behaviors in my family and even then I hesitate to definitively call someone a narcissist. It's a very big, very heavy label to assign.

as somebody who is neuro-divergent, the phrase “it explains it, but doesn’t excuse it” changed my life. her behavior, although (possibly) being explained by her disorders, she still did it and should hold herself accountable.
An explanation only becomes an excuse when it isn’t followed by apologies and an active effort to manage it in a way that doesn’t negatively impact those around you. She states her ADHD causes these certain things but doesn’t apologize and doesn’t say “I’ll try to work on that so I don’t do it to people anymore.”

Gabbie would not survive on a set that wasn’t run by her “friends”. Most sets are fairly flexible with talent but there are requirements. The hours are almost always insane. That’s just how film sets work. An 8-9 hour day is actually fairly short in the film industry. And the other talent would not be going out to get you special food. It would be a running PA if they sent anyone. But usually your options are fill out the form or suck it up. Film sets are always insane. It’s a hard job. You have to be flexible. As someone in the film industry, I’ve heard of specific talent or directors that people dread working with because of a lack of professionalism or them being a diva. It always gets around.
That above all else is what pissed me off about her video on the ETN season 4 drama. I didn’t like Joey’s response because he came across as disingenuous and hearted comments from drama channels- which I find quite sus. But I’ve got a friend who works behind the scenes in the biz; she said there’s a certain pecking order in the biz, and social media influencers are *not* on the same level as A-listers. If you are just a social media influencer and act like a diva, it won’t go over well because you didn’t earn the respect to act like one. Clout can only get you so far, because if people refuse to work with you, then you become a problem child nobody will touch… and your clout goes bye-bye.

So when Gabbie is hurting, I can empathize with her, but when she hurts others, she doesn't give empathy to them. It's like she expects empathy from everyone, but doesn't have the decency to give it back to them. Even if her mental health conditions cause a lack of empathy, she can still learn to understand the concept of it. It's hard to feel sorry for someone when they seem so emotionally demanding yet are unwilling to give others the same decency they expect. It seems like she feels entitled to unconditional kindness, sensitivity, empathy, and understanding from everyone, yet feels no obligation to return any form of those sentiments when people ask for it. I think why everyone got so mad with the Bianca thing in the beginning was because (please someone correct me if I am mistaken) the family had said they didn't want their deceased loved one's death photo online (which is 100% understandable) which then just turned into the narrative of they didn't want Bianca's photos online. Still I agree with you that the hate was unreasonable at that time. BUT then Gabbie in her 12 part series says the family wanted a public apology from all drama channels (which the family did NOT want) and Gabbie was still using this deceased girl as a way for Gabbie to gain sympathy. Which in my opinion is very fucked up. Gabbie weaponized a deceased girl and her family to defend herself when she shouldn't have mentioned that at all because the family didn't want that.
What I had heard was that the first people who kicked up a fuss about the video were her friends, which is understandable, you’re watching a random RUclips video and then all of a sudden an article talking about your deceased friend’s murder pops up on the screen, and all the youtuber has to say about it is “oH cUtE sHiRt” before moving on and not even touching on the obvious, aka the article’s contents. I’ve never been in the situation the friends were in, but I’m pretty sure I’d be at least a little taken aback and upset. So they started speaking up in the comments, simply asking Gabbie to remove that part of the video ASAP, other people caught wind and started amplifying their voices, then it reached drama channels but it had gone through such a round of telephone that the original message of concern was lost. Meanwhile Gabbie ignored it for like two weeks, and then finally tried to sneak in and do a slap-dash editing job to blur it (but only ended up bluring part of the photo, the rest was there as well as the article’s contents), and then made a video apologizing a few days later. The original situation was basically a non-issue, if Gabbie had just removed that part when she started seeing comments or videos about it-or hell, if her and her editor had paid a bit more attention to the screenrecording she included of the stuff she was looking up-everything would have blown over, but it’s her waiting until it blew up into a huge unignorable thing, combined with her low effort editing job that made it seem like she didn’t really care and just wanted it to blow over, that really sealed the deal.

The real issue of this situation is that Kim Devins said that she wanted drama channels to apologize to Gabbie, not to the family directly. Gabbie absolutely did not make this clear. But regardless, this was a stupid video to make, because even if they had understood what was going on, of fucking course the drama channels won’t apologize to you Gabbie, they’re too stuck in their ways. So basically what you did was put Kim in a position where her daughter’s name is being circulated and used for clout AGAIN, for a cause that was doomed to fail from the start. On top of it, Kim is being used as a middle man by both GH and drama channels to “ok” their behavior, which IMO isn’t acceptable, just leave the damn woman alone.
However, while GH absolutely is at fault for not preparing the family for the fall-out of her series, that doesn’t mean drama channels shouldn’t take down their old videos and apologize to Gabbie, since Kim believes that she is owed one. They talk mad game about people who “can’t take criticism,” and then they themselves are stuck in their own ways. It’s quite hypocritical.
Plus the screen shots Gabbie uploaded onto her own Twitter, she was outright lying to Kim Devin's (the mom) saying that Drama channels are the to this day using her daughters photo for videos against Gabbie and that wasn't true. So Kim thought those channels should apologize to Gabbie, of course she did. She was lied to. We really gotta ask, what type of person can lie to a greiving mother in order to gain sympathy and compassion from her. It's incredibly sad.
Gabbie Hannas original video that included Bianca was not wrong. However her current behavior, we well as her originally reaching out to kim devins initially was wrong. Just like the drama channels were initially wrong making something out of nothing, as well as Angelika reaching out to kim. Gabbie is weaponizing Kims support for her own agenda.
I mostly agree with you here but Angelika reached out to apologize and it revealed how gabby lied to Kim. Good on angelika for apologizing, Kim seems to have responded well to it too
After what she did with the girl who died at her school, the situation here feels...less than innocent to me especially since the video was made at the same time that the case was blowing up and going to court.

She only 'apologized' when she got more backlash for not addressing it and at that point any apology feels more like "I'm sorry I got caught" than a "I'm sorry I did this and didn't properly address it".
For some reason this and the ricegum incident are getting boiled down to 'Gabbie's side' and everything else that shows her incorrect actions is getting thrown out. For instance the timing of the video, the reason she got called out twice and the connection to the other girl, Gabbie's multiple stories from the ricegum incident (he hit her, he pinned her down, he scratched her chest/shoulder area and smashed her phone) her story changed with each telling for a while in the mean time even when rice gum addressed it in 2019 his story is the same as the day after it happened.
So why is it getting retold like this? Like why are we letting Gabbie Hanna rewrite why she was called out about the video on BD? As well as what happened with rice gum? She lied multiple times about being assaulted and we're still taking her word partially on the incident?
She's also blaming them for something that was happening long before this whole episode started. People were sending graphic photos of Bianca's murder to her family long before drama channels started making videos about Gabbie's mishap. It's insane that she's blaming them for that.
Gabby started off right in the bianca situation but then she went so very wrong. She ended up making it about her while pretending she wasn't making it about her.

As someone who has been though psychological abuse, one of the phrases that triggers a painful emotion for me is "It's not always about you" even if its to joke at me. My step mom said this phrase to me all the time to bring me down and keep me scared. If someone says that to me, I don't go insane, I simply say "Hey my abuser said this to me, can you please avoid saying this phrase to me please? It triggers me and brings back old trauma". My ex loved to say this phrase to me even knowing its triggering. He liked to see me become upset and have anxiety.

It can be a real battle to stand your ground, even in situations that don't involve that person, and boundaries have always been something I've struggled with. I am extremely grateful that I've been able to cut my mom out of my life, although I still hear about her here and there, it's nothing compared to being being there when it happens. Although it's been a couple years, I'm still working on those boundaries and trying to heal, it's coming a little at a time. For the Bianca Devins situation I feel like people were more upset that she glossed over what happened to her NOT the fact that she complimented her. For a lot of people when you Gloss over a tragedy like this it makes it seem like what happened to her didn’t matter and she was just a cute e-girl when there is more to her story than just being attractive. It's crazy to me that Gabbie is saying she's being medicated for ADHD and still openly drinking and smoking in her videos. I love marijuana - I recently got an ADHD diagnosis and medication for it. Any provider will warn against smoking while medicated for ADHD with a drug like adderall. She's spreading dangerous shit with her actions.

My doctor didn’t advise against it at all when I first started concerta. Everything in moderation. You don’t know what med or what dose she’s on and you could smoke in the evening the life of your med isn’t that long. Irrelevant but still.
To be fair I take Adderall as well. I don’t take it every single day and on the days I don’t are the days I’ll drink or smoke. Or if I take it early in the morning I know it will ware off later in the evening so it would be okay to drink or smoke at that time. I have more than one diagnosis and use edibles to medicate which is common for people with various mental illnesses. It’s not just used recreationally and is just as important in someone’s treatment as an over the counter med.
So I don’t think what she’s doing is necessarily dangerous when we don’t know what medication she’s taking, how often, and how she personally reacts to it. It would be an issue if she literally was telling people it’s okay to take the meds and drink/smoke or offering medical advice on that subject. But without intimate knowledge of her medication we can’t say what she’s doing is dangerous or promoting dangerous behavior.

Yep. All she did was complain about things that happen on every single set and admit she can’t handle that at all. Like early call times, sitting around and waiting for hours (sometimes in full costume and makeup), shifting and changing daily schedules, etc is normal in any kind of film production. The biggest actors in the world still have to sit around and wait on a set or have to deal with being uncomfortable. She talks about it like she was personally targeted and put through these things and no one else has to ever deal with it. Her explanation could’ve been summed up with “I can never work as an actor/talent in a major production cause I can’t handle what that job description entails.”

I'm neurodivergent and I've had plenty of crappy people do crappy things to me, but I've learned to understand when I'm right and justified in my own actions and feelings. Self-justification/self-validation is far more comforting than an apology form a crappy person.
Here are some bluntly-stated things I've learned that have helped me heal from my trauma:
- Sometimes you can feel hurt even if you're hurting someone else at the same time.
- Sometimes others can feel hurt even if they're hurting you at the same time.
- Not a single person on this planet is obligated to apologize to you even if they hurt you.
- You are not entitled to special treatment from anyone else simply due to neurodivergence, past trauma, or emotional sensitivity. Others may choose to treat you differently due to these things, but you are not entitled to special treatment for them, except in cases of disability, etc.
- Learn to let go of the need for an apology.
- Learn to validate your own feelings, behaviors, and actions instead of relying on others to do so.

If I was told, almost daily, by separate people with zero connection, that I was snapping unpleasantly at everyone... No matter if agreed or legitimately realized that's how I was acting, _that's how EVERYONE sees it._ That makes it valid, whether I believe it or not.
Did anyone else notice, while discussing escape the night and blaming ADHD, she was rocking back and forth while simultaneously throwing up screen shots of ADHD and ADD? I have never seen her rock back and forth like that...in face I went back and watched some videos and she actually seems able both in past videos and more recent ones to sit and not to rock like that. Tell me she wasn't attempting to hammer home a point by acting like her ADHD is worse than it actually is....I'm sorry but I find that so disgraceful, disingenuous and disgusting!
YES! Absolutely. That's all I could think about throughout her video clips. It's manipulative in my opinion, to her audience, by trying to exaggerate her symptoms. There are also several parts in her video where she is NOT rocking back and forth when she is talking about something other than her ADHD and putting up screenshots of her old text conversations.

I was thinking something like that too. She seems overly concerned about what is said publicly and privately. Like she felt like everyone is on the same page because she consistently brings that onto conversations and gets made when people “like” criticisms of her etc

One of the best pieces of advice my father has ever given me is, "You can't control how you feel about a situation, you CAN control how you act or react" and honestly Gabbie needs to learn how to fucking control herself.
ADHD can come with a pathological lack of self-control, which does complicate that. It can reach the point where your conscious mind isn't really in the driver's seat. Instead, the little voice that whispers for you to do stupid shit is. You end up doing things most of you doesn't want to, because a tiny part of you finds it amusing. It's a terrifying experience. Which is why you get treatment.

I'm so furious about the Bianca Devins mischaracterization. The photos had already blown up and been sent maliciously to the family before Gabbie had even posted her video. The fact that she framed that as the fault of drama channels shows either that she doesn't know what she's talking about or she that she knows and is lying.

I think Gabbie was called out for this because the she had previously spoken about a classmate of hers that died from a drug overdose (which ended up getting 10M views) and the family of this classmate were very upset. I think that maybe Angelika Oles and other drama channels interpreted the B***** D***** story as her doing something similar (exploiting her death for views) and why they just jumped to the conclusion that Gabbie was awful without thinking.

Yeah I described this in a comment on another video as them “nipping a pattern in the bud before it has the chance of becoming a pattern”. How many youtubers on this platform have we had that exploit people’s deaths in some form or another? The last thing we need is another one, which I think was part of the drama channels’ motive for speaking up about this. Gabbie has shown a pattern of toeing the line, slowly inching closer and closer towards something while judging people’s reactions so she can jump away the second she gets backlash, hell, that’s basically how her music career started, she dabbled here and there, making jokes about herself singing or including a clip of her singing in a tweet or vlog, before finally releasing her first song out loud as promotional material for her book, and the good reception from that has led to the obnoxious “I’m the next Freddie Mercury” attitude we have from her today. The drama channels had no idea if she was using this situation as a stepping stone to push the line further and further until she’s, like, doing songs and music videos about murder victims, or some shit like that, so considering her previous history with exploiting a deceased classmate for views (a classmate she didn’t even know or share classes with, to boot), might as well stop her in her place now before she does worse, right?

Look Im not a fan of Gabby she is definately a jerk but in that moment shes selfsoothing I have ADHD and an anxiety disorder and I do that all the time the bouncing the rocking the eratic behavior it comes from being hyper and stressed out its hard to manage emotions but thats internally its difficult not to get depressed most ADHD people dont lash out and act bad that would cause more stress which is whats happening to her she needs to learn to manage herself
As someone with ADHD that has affected my relationships with other people, gabbie using it as a scapegoat for her actions is truly insulting. It just shows that she doesn’t feel any guilt for her actions, so needs to demonize a very real disorder to excuse her actions.

I agree I get really sick to my stomach when people use our diagnosis as an excuse for their shitty behaviour. It ruins so much for so many people and adds stigma to something that already is misunderstood. people should NEVER use a disorder as an excuse for being a shitty person and making bad decisions. In the worst years of my ED, I was super specific with my food (for example, I had to count how many cherries or chicken strips I would eat for lunch), so when I was going to work or somewhere else I always had my weird lunchbox with me. I had many situations when free meals were available, but I never knew if there will be something I “needed”, so taking care of my food myself was the best option. It’s awful how Gabbie involved everybody in her ED situation in all the wrong ways.
They really tried to make ig comfortable for her. SHE is the problem. Not her adhd, not her mental health, not her ED. Her she is the only person to blame in this

As a neurodivergent person (autism, ADHD, & dyscalculia), it deeply, deeply upsets me when people -- especially those with a platform -- try to use their neurodivergency as an excuse to treat people poorly and blatantly lie. There's a clear difference between perceiving something differently and LYING. All this does is stigmatise, like you've said.
Also, I find that Gabbie will occasionally make a really good point, but it's coming from, like, a really backwards situation? Or, like, she'll immediately say something totally contradictory. It's like... oh, queen, u were almost there. u almost had it. u were so close

And don't even start me on "neuro-policing" - often I feel like cannot be possibly critical of neurodiverse creators, without being told to go to therapy (once I admit that I also am on spectrum) or accused of being this or that.(once I don't). Come on, can we just not like someone neuroatypical same we can simply not like someone who is considered "normal"? If I'm going to be an ass, just tell me I am an ass without recommending me a treatment. If you're do something shitty just own it, without bringing your diagnosis in to it as a stupid excuse. It just rubs me extremely wrong way, especially once those with a platform do it.
